88 and 3074 are the ports or holes in your home network firewall xbox live uses to easily connect to the internet imagin ur xbox with a wall around it in the wall there are to holes 88 & 3074 that xbox live can pass through.... sooo to open a port "or hole in ur home network firewall" find your internal ip not external and put that in the web adress bar the just find a way to open the ports 88 & 3074. :) hope this helped...

With embarq/centeury link connected to a router all you have to do is call them and ask them how to bridge your modem. I LITERALLY just did this and my nat is now open. (I HAVE A NETGEAR ROUTER)

i have done this it is open but i can't find players with my second xbox like when i play mw2 one xbox says like 19028 players in playlist when the other say 0 players in playlist and can't find any players any1 that can help?

If this doesn't work for anyone, go into your router config and set the router into bridge mode from there. It's pretty simple on my router but may be different for you. For me it was just a click of a button.

@GameAssassin10 set ur router to bridge instead of routing, thats what i did

all you need to do is go to UPnP and tick all the boxes. However these Zyxels are very flakey and will probably block your NAT again before long.

i have 2 xbox in my house. 1 is my brothers and one is mine. everytime i go on live and play a game it works great

every time my brother logs into live it kicks off and i cant connect.

my setup goes ( i am with virgin media)

modem------->Router (belkin n1)

wirless = 2 xbox , 2 laptops an 1 pc all wireless

i have tried turning the pc and laptops off and the problem is still occaring

Look for Default Gateway/Standard Gateway, that's the IP for your router

If the ZyXel has DHCP - ON, use 192.168.2.2 instead of 1.1

I used the all port entry and 192.168.2.2 because DHCP was on. Then I forwarded the select ports to ips that I have DHCP'd on my Linksys router. Or if your lucky enough to have a DMZ option, use it! DMZ forwards all the ports at the same time. Port Range Forwarding is more secure because it only opens the ports you want to have opened, while DMZ opens all the ports of one computer. This is perfectly OK for an XBOX360, but not a PC.

If you have a router connected after the ZyXEL, you should just turn the ZyXEL's firewall off.

Otherwise, all you need to do is go to UPnP and check all 3 of those boxes. No need to port forward or anything.
