They really did screw things up. I like Kevin Sullivan, but anyone involved with that company at the end should be ashamed of themselves. I always loved Kevin - in all truth, I have to say that the biggest reason is hearing that Boston accent attached to a devil-worshipping character being the perfect icing on that cake. The "Dungeon Of Doom" promos with King Curtis were funny as hell (and loud too; you had to turn down the sound when they were on). I'd love to see the entire doc. This looks great. WCW had that "good'ol boy" clique, guys like Luger and they really didnt want the smaller guys getting any popularity, especially the latino talent.
I also remember most of WCWs main events were screw-ball finishes, 85% of the time the main events had some kind of outside interference, rarely ever a clean finish.

If WCW was around, WWE would be a better product because Vince would stay ahead of the curve. Today's wrestling is all high spots and interviews. Matches are three minutes long and usually HHH is involved somehow. It's boring and predictable. Give me back my 'rasslin' anyday!

They really did screw things up. I like Kevin Sullivan, but anyone involved with that company at the end should be ashamed of themselves. They had the WWF beat and they had a ton of talent and they let it slip through their fingers. They could have and probably should have put Vince out of business, but it was the other way around. I always loved Kevin - in all truth, I have to say that the biggest reason is hearing that Boston accent attached to a devil-worshipping character being the perfect icing on that cake. The "Dungeon Of Doom" promos with King Curtis were funny as hell (and loud too; you had to turn down the sound when they were on). I'd love to see the entire doc. This looks great. In Kevin's own words: "All hail the powah of Abudda Hadein!" (Not sure on the spelling)

To me, the reason WCW went down was because they wouldn't give the newer faces a chance. They wanted to keep Ric Flair, Sting, Lex Luger, Hulk Hogan, and The Steiners at the top without giving the newer guys a push. Eric Bischoff got rid of Steve Austin. He went to WWE and became the promotion's biggest star. Especially when he came up with Austin 3:16. At the Raw broadcast after King of the Ring, Jim Cornette said that he was overwhelmed at the posters of that.

Originally, Triple H was scheduled to win King of the Ring, but Vnce was angry at him, Shawn Michaels, Kevin "Diesel" Nash, & Scott "Razor Ramon" Hall for breaking kayfabe when the latter 2 were on their way out. He didn't want to punish Shawn, as he was over with the fans. So Helmsley was it. Austin said that when he won it, John 3:16 and the way Jake Roberts was using it kept knawing at him. So he put a new spin on it, and the rest is history.

Sadly, it never happened, because we know what happened to Owen. He begged out of a storyline where he would flirt with Debra and feud with Jeff Jarrett because he knew that it would have a negative effect on his kids. Okay, first off Mcmahon would have NEVER EVER EVER WITHOUT A SHOUT OF A DOUBT EVER SOLD THE WWF. Had WCW won the Monday Night Wars...we would have two products out right now. We would still be able to choose from WCW or the WWF. Just as many people have said in the past...the Mcmahons (Vince especially) eat, sleep, live this business. Just as so many others have put it as well, "You could call Vince at 3 am and talk wrestling with him. You couldn't even get a hold of WCW if it was 5:05 pm."

I have been a fan since I was four and I am almost 38! WCW was killed because of the merger of AOL/Time Warner. WWE is still going because it doesn't have competition. If WCW was around, WWE would be a better product because Vince would stay ahead of the curve. Today's wrestling is all high spots and interviews. Matches are three minutes long and usually HHH is involved somehow. It's boring and predictable. Give me back my 'rasslin' anyday!

yeah, I'd thought WCW had declined after about a year with the nWo storyline (so about mid 97)... having only watched maybe 10 tna shows in the last few years, I can't say much, but I don't think they're that good. they have potential for sure, but I think a lot of it is wasted, just like it was in the 3 or 4 years before WCW died.
