  • i luv the comic books

  • Wow, Betty sucks at the tamborine at 0:49-0:53.

  • I wonder how many seizure's this theme song caused for the kids back then.

FACT: This show came out back in 1968.

  • hehehe... Veronica could not be happy with her intro... "Veronica, too"

  • Hot Dog far too often took over the show, despite the fact he wasn't funny and contributed nothing to the show.

Anyone have the later jazzier version from Everything's Archie that included the line "We're gonna have a real good time 'cause Sabrina will join us too?"

  • Moral of the message...Keep Hanna Barbera far far far away from messing up someone else's work, especially classic cartoons that came from Filmation.

  • Anyone ever see The New Archies? It was like a 80's/90's reboot and nowhere near as good as the original.

  • Cool!!! The Archies were the Led Zeppelin of Bubble gum rock.

  • @Jupiter2able Really?

Well, at least the Zep didn't have to deal with Don Kirshner.

  • @SuperCartiel Yeah he was apiece of work wasn't he?

  • @zapkvr Yeah. With all his fake bands--The Monkees, The Archies, The Partridge Family. *ungh!*

The only good thing was his 'Rock Concert' thing, and in the end, that became cheesy, too.

  • @Jupiter2able Well, they did manage to appear twice on the Ed Sullivan Show. Once for "Bang Shangalang" and the second for "Sugar, Sugar". Not bad for an animated Bubble Gum rock band, eh?

  • i like it

  • great show

  • 0:21...assss!

  • es lo que yo veia cuando niño y ciertamente me llene de recuerdos con no pocas lagrimas

  • Jughead looks like he's high

  • IM HAVING A SEIZURE!!!!

  • Im 13 and i collect the comic scripts i love them! I used 2 watch this when i was 5!

  • You. Yes, you. Did you just listen to the Archies theme? You did? Well, I got news for you. You will have this tune in your head the rest...of...the.....day!!!!!!!

  • True dat! I promise you, I had a dream the other night, and this song just kept playing and playing and playing in it.... -rips hair out of scalp- I love the Archies, though, and their shows!

  • its funny hw u can recognize the fact that they have a loop on hw the characters move loool

  • This looks like an 80`s cartoon.

  • late 60s, actually...I was 8 when this first came on!

  • i find it funny how a lot of their songs have a prominent bass line, and yet none of them play bass. xP

And they couldn't give Betty a better instrument than a tambourine?

  • Imagino una juventud adolescente norteamericana (70´s) sin las mayúsculas preocupaciones de la actual.

  • LOL jughead at 0:47

  • is bery good

  • 0:49 INVISIBLE DROPKICK

  • i had the seiries collection on dvd it's alredy out.....since 2008

  • No , this cartoon that you saw in the 90's is a rerun , it was first shown on CBS in 1968 . I was about 11 when I first saw it and I loved it since and I'm happy to have the series on DVD now . They don't make good cartoons like this anymore !

  • You got that right!

  • lol, i used to watch this back in the 1990s actually, i thought its a 1970s cartoon no?

  • Thanks for uploading my childhood show.

  • When Jughead finally showed up, he looked like he was having a seizure. LOL

  • can u blame him?

  • @mthivier No. He was just on LSD. It was '68, remember?

  • @mthivier he was having a seizure

  • when the heck was that???

  • i thought archies jalopy was red...

  • Only when they were tripping.

  • @kickeragga It was in the comics, but, I think they made the car yellow in the animation so that it's "falling apart" animation would be more noticeable; frankly, they did a lot of things wrong (Besides the crappy Filmation Studios animation); Archie lost the crosshatching on his temples and freckles, Jughead's eyes were partly open (Unlike now, Jug had his eyes completely closed at all times, in the comics, back then), & Hot Dog was added as a semi-human character

  • I like "Sugar Sugar".

  • Archie is actually the mascot for the Sonic the Hedgehog comics. lol.

Their song "Sugar Sugar" is catchy, but not my cup of tea lol.

  • Gotta HATE Sonic The Hedgehog.

  • the animations of the people look like scooby-doo characters

  • its probibly based on it like some of the old cartoons like jabberjaw

  • It's the other way around. This preceded Jabberjaw by several years.

  • oh srry ime ten i dont really know stuff about that but thanks i just found it by luck?i guess

  • very catchy song, love the comics

  • oh dear.. :(

  • some more americans ripping off our good name

  • Omg jossie and the pussy cats was like almost the exact same opening

  • Greatest dancing in the history of human kind, whoever can dance like that must be immortal.

  • 0:19

    Worst

    Dancing

    Ever

  • Oh God...that....that was the DUMBest thing I ever saw in my life.

There goes another 58 seconds of my life I'll never get back.

  • ive never seen this show

  • catchy but such a copy of scooby doo

  • Ron Dante did come out years later on nostaligia concerts as the lead voice, under his own name and sing the 2 or 3 big hits.

Andy Kim helped produce & write...but didnt sing.

  • And Hot Dog WAS Jughead's dog. It was a little vague on TV-- I THINK--but he was never Archie's. They modeled the comic books to shadow the show after it became a hit. And inspired all those other kid/band shows of the early 70s. (Groovy Ghoulies, anybody?) Yo ucouldnt have a cartoon unless you had kids n a band.. or detectives.. or even both!

  • Yknow All part of teh "stop cartoon violence" after 60s assassinations... Scooby Doo was original, Archie was an existing franchise--but they wanted "peaceful" cartoons, not action heroes. "kids have a band" etc...like Josie & Pussycats ... Funky Phantom ... etc.

  • The singers were studio musicians, anonymous, never really played together outside except they had an accidental HIT "Sugar Sugar"...also "Bang Shang a Lang." remember getting "records"on cereal boxes? Pressed in plastic on the cardboard, you cut them off and could play them.

  • Wow, I haven't seen this since it was on Saturday mornings, when I was a little kid. I'd forgotten all about it.

  • Crap

  • creepy

  • Reminds me of the Venture Brothers sorta...im guessing this is the sorta thing they were based on.

  • scooby doo is the shit what the hellis this crap

  • the singer kinda sounds like the singer from the morning benders...nifty

  • I think it's Andy Kim on vocals

  • So Reggie WAS white! Hmm, they made him look so hispanic for the last decade or so (not that I mind... or care).

  • Try 1969, kiddies. Hot Dog was invented for the cartoon. to be "cute." Ugh. A year after SCooby Do--same era,

  • I seem to recall that in the Archie's comics of the early 70's, at times Hot Dog was Jughead's dog rather than Archie's. Is that right?

  • id love archies car, (the model T or the mustang :D )

  • hot dog?

  • their outfit is so 80's or 09's

  • so who's playing the drums?

  • my bad - should've watched to the end....

  • jugnut

  • reminds me of scooby dooby doo duno if thats spelt correctly but u know wat am on about

  • The colors on the back makes me wanna throw up :(

  • Pussy.

  • great stuff!

  • The latest Archie Double Digest comic has a cover story that 'The Archies' have permantantly disbanded,

Of course this is the same comicbook industry that's said Batman and Captain America are both dead.

  • Wow! The first promoted video in YouTube history EVER worth watching!

  • It sounds gay, but the new one is much catchier.

  • it was funny but i would give it 3 stars and i dont really get the point of the video so wateva

  • love this show. but this and the funhouse, though, theres a way about the original show that i just enjoy best. specially this opening! probably the very few shows that, when watching on dvd or such, i dont skip the opening! from the singing to the animation of how its done- love it!

  • *blink blink*

  • Omg, when it says "Reggie's here" Look at him dance, its awsome! hahaha

  • man what yall know about this shit

  • Haha, i love the way MY NAME sounds in an american accent! :D

  • I must be the only one who feels like saying in the end:"Scooby dooby doo"

  • ajajaja very old :D but nice :P

  • first wow:)
