  • Son of Ran - Dear Music.

  • WUZMC - Na Luzie

  • Oh so lovely!

  • Why a so pretty woman with a so beautiful voice does not deserve to have the best picture quality? Because we listen with the ears and not with the eyes!

Thank you for the loading dude!

  • Madlib or Dilla freaked this intro... cant quite remember who

  • stunning....

  • Terrell has the most incredible style and range - but I have to say I was dissapointed with Bobby Martin's production of one of the most under-rated vocalists of our time. He could have gotten so much more out of her and the choice of songs was a little lame too. Berry Gordy has a lot to answer for. For me though, THE album that really showcases her talent is 'Produced and Arranged by Jimmy Webb' Simply SUPREME!

  • "dear old dad" prozack turner, dope tune

  • Way...way ahead of its time PRICELSS GEM...you cant put any amount of $ on tunes like this...when emotions are touched in a way like this trax does too the few who recall..... how can you place a price tag....that warm feel good feeling...nothing compares! Thanks for the share...

  • I heard this sample used in this song called "Dear Music" by Son Of Ran. sick song

  • Great tune!

  • I enjoyed it. I clicked on it and listened to it in its entirety, in the background. That's my test for new music. If I suddenly say to myself "what the heck is this crap"? Then I delete it, turn it off or go to the next track. She passed my test...easily.

  • Beautiful! Jean was probably the greatest female artist to record for Motown. She is spectacular!

  • I prefer breakwater version from 78 " if you never try then you will never know

  • terrible morceau....

    WEST HOLLYWOOD REPORTER

    KURT EVANS

  • Nice song, but I like the version of the group "Breakwater" better. Does anyone know which version is the original ?

  • Hi yeh the jean terrell is the original,

both versions are superb to me

  • imma flip it..thx 4 postin..

  • u stupid. this the reall version

  • Jean Terrell's amazing voice is brilliantly showcased in the 3 Disc musical treasure chest "This Is The Story" & in "I Had To Fall In Love" her hypnotic solo lp now on Import CD...radio didn't rise to the occasion of this great singers tremendous output but these wondrous releases are special treats now available for real music lovers to savor & enjoy...Bravo Jean!!!

  • Her sound and presentation is similar to Anita Baker, but Jean came first! The whole album is very good, and just like Anita Baker it has it's own style, perhaps it just didn't fit into a mold, especially in 1977 when disco was about the only thing on R&B radio at the time.

  • Stephan makes some good points, IMO. Jean's voice needed lush production around and beneath it, to make her recordings sound commercially successful enough--otherwise, I think her voice sounded too "indie" and experimental. Definitely, I believe Jean was WAY ahead of her time, her voice has a soulfulness and her vocals an ease that would've made her a big presence in the music scene if she was at her peak now, in the 2000s. ;)

  • You have a good point. Jean Terrell only likes her music to be promoted certain ways though. Apparently because of her Jehovah Witness religious beliefs.

  • @florenceballard I did not know she Was a Witness. My mom is one. Her Music sounds pretty good

  • I like it, &:

1.She'd have really been more successful if Gamble & Huff had worked with her. Imagine a duet w/ Teddy back then! HUGE HIT!!!

2.Her tone is so strong, that she sounds better w/ a cleaner delivery, "un-riffed".

3.The kind of gospel backing that Diana Ross was using back then would have worked well for Miss Terrell, too.

  • You got abything else from this album

  • Why do you listen to Jean' music if you don't like her voice. Why the uncertainties?

  • oceanbound has been out to sea too long...what a goofy comment!
