Odd that you said the manufacturer states to use the baro damper as it is usually not recommended for wood burning applicances. I wonder if they recommend it because you can also burn coal in that stove ? check out hearth.com maybe someone can advise one way or the other. also I think the bottom spin dial is really just for coal since a wood fire doesn't normally have a under grate air source - I didnt go online to read the operating info for your unit so I could be way off. Good vid thx
@jjs777fzr , The bottom damper is used alot with coal, but I use it when i want to burn my wood from the bottom up ( slow burn after the coals are hot ) in this unit, not saying it does for others, but if i want my wood to last this works best for me. going on 6 months of use now. Your mileage may vary. I too had alot of ?s about the baro damper & after reading about how they work i found it's an added benefit used on multiple systems. Thx for the comments * I'm no expert * my experience
@IMElia87 Sure seems like you are chewing threw a lot. The Hot Blast it's self does not heat the room all that great, it does send the captured air up to my home via ducts making it warm. In short if you Burning does not effecintly distribute heat I would work on that. No blowers? Then look into Google "Magic Heat Reclaimer" . Sounds like your are doing the right thing with the dampeners too. keep as much heat with out OVER FIRE. You need to capture you hot air and get use of it.
Great video I just out a Riteway wood stove in my work shop under my home it does well but I.have to burn it HOT!! like 350-400 (stack temp) and I don't like that I'm having to burn threw 10-15 hard wood oak and hickory logs a day to keep it burning and it Burns out thew the night ill stoak it right before bed around 10-11 at night get up for work at 5 and have a fire box of complete ass and have to relate. And I leave my damper just barely cracked and exhaust damp half any suggestions?
