The only way to get a real experience witth fsx is with 3 screens or more,.. so im going to get that! but i have one question, do i need more than just one graphic card? or is the game going to be laggy if i just have one?

A bit let down by having to access the keyboard frequently.

That's why i use something called "Multi Crew Experience" (for which a free demo is available by the way). Voice control for FSX and FS9, that what it's all about. Plus the ability to interact with ATC by voice. You need a mic though. LOL! ;-))

i very much agree with you. I would always prefer NVIDIA over ATI as the GUIs and GPUs are much better on NVIDIA cards. I also prefer Intel over AMD too as ATI and AMD are of the same compony. And you're right, Youtube kills the quality of vids. Lucky HQ is a bit better.

Hi there,

I have a quad monitor setup and have tried this before, but can't get FSX to span a single view across all the screens. I can put individual cockpit views on the screens and rotate the POV on each one to get close to a continuous panorama, but its never quite right.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Is this a Matrox TH2G setup by the way? If so then that would probably explain it? I'm running mine on separate graphics cards.

he is using a pc with a decent graphics card like a 8800gtx or newer and also a matrox triple head to go which enables three screens to work like that, its not a normal computing feature to be able to do that you need the triple head to go, normally people use 19inch or 22inch widescreen, this is pretty decent at 3x24" set up.

I've looked at the datasheet and docs for the TH2G because I'm interested in one and the Matrox docs say that it only supports up to three standard aspect monitors (max resolution of 1280x1024 each) rather than widescreen monitors.

There is nothing to say those screens arent running at the interpolated resolution you say anyway, but if you check out matrox's site the TH2G mode switcher update does support some widescreen resolutions. TH2G analog supports 3840 x 768 (3 x 1280 x 768), and TH2G digital supports up to 4080 x 768 (3 x 1360 x 768). Look at matroxs site for the full list.

thanks for your comments. I figured out how he's doing it. FS can do what he's done there natively without the TH2G.  It's not actually one "screen" spanning all three monitors. It's three separate "views" inside FS9.

Now, the question is, what is a good angle for the left and right monitors relative to the center one.

Yep that is the other way of doing it :) Most games will allow this as its just a Windows thing, though FS offers a bit more functionality I believe as some people want to use more than 'just' 3 monitors. Re: the angles, depends on your FOV I guess.
