John uses both kinds of neck, necks not the most important bit its not even the pickups you use, of course it plays a role in the sound but you need all the amp settings aswell i have mine set at bass 7 mid 4 treble 7 reverb at 7 and gain about 5 on clean then turn the volume on my guitar to about 8 and tone on full

I seriously doubt, with the skill level at which this guy is playing, that he learned this using tabs. Hes obviously a proper guitar player. If you want to play like him, learn some guitar theory and gain a true understanding for how a guitar works. Tabs wont take you to where you would ultimately like to be.
