  • Beat on the brat. Beat on the brat. Beat on the brat with a BASE-BALL BAT, OH YEAH!!

    I couldn't help it.

  • brats dont need cure unless your mixing it with wild game or smoking it

  • can you just use salt instead of cure? I can't get hold of any cure

  • So if you are not smoking it why did you have to add cure??

  • lmao ; D *thumbs up* Awesome bro! I had a lil one like that once.lol Your arm wants to fall off when you're done! Best thing I made with mine was 2 parts beef(for ground beef) to 1 part smoked bacon. yum! It was increadable on the bbq.. : )

  • @theGHETTOMAN1 Sounds great, Thanks for watching!

  • Hello

  • I like Homemade sausage

  • thanks! Thanks a lot! Nice wishes from Germany! :)

  • @JimWatson10 they have brats in Germany? : )

  • @BBQTalk are you serious?

  • @HenrikTorget about what?

  • @BBQTalk if they have brats in germany...

  • @HenrikTorget Yes....that was my feeble attempt at a joke : )

  • What else, besides beer, can I simmer the sausages in? thanks!

  • @NobbyKNobbs Gingerale works fine too!

  • Hey I am from Germany and i like your pronounciation of "Bratwurst" :P

    It sounds very nice :D

  • Ich liebe Breatwurst

  • Only German Bratwurst is the real Bratwurst. I ate Bratwurst in the UK and it was horrible.

  • i like it but you are keeping your meat to hot you got to keep it cold so it can chop the meat better

  • where is milk and ice rufel

  • Awsome Job...I COMPLETELY Understand about the Grinder/Stuffer! MyDad (now 92) has the one His Grandma brought from German...We got a Kitchenaide 2 yrs ago...LoL!! for Fathers Day! I have to say thought...FOND Memories of working the handle as a Kid though... Gigglez ;)

Thank You and Have a Great Day!!!

  • Where is Germany? is it beside Chile?

  • @jackandjerry it's in Europe....u know....Europe?

  • I see you changed the mouth of the meat machine and by that you could fill the casing. What that special equipment called and where I can obtain one? Thanks for the video.

  • Excellent vid... again....

  • is curing salt not bad for our health? i know phosphate is kinda risky

  • Its NOT a Brat. Bratwurst means fresh sausage... that means no cure.

  • Bratwurst means like grill sausage, from german "braten" it is usually not cured but there are many variations here in Germany, where i live...

  • @sailorkam1 no Bratwurst means fried sausage

  • @mattyandtasha buddy,i did NOT say fried sausage.those are to grill or fry,if you like you can eat them boiled.i don't know where you lve but i live in" the sausage country":)i produce it myself too.

  • @sailorkam1 Es tut mir leid. Ich weiß

  • @sailorkam1 @sailorkam1 wrong, it has nothing to do with "braten". "Brat" stands for "(Fleisch)brät" which simply means into small pieces cutted meat (e.g with a grinder) - in english only sausage meat.

  • please show the people, how to take the gland out of the pork butt.if they leave it in,it will ruin your BBQ.thanks.

  • Very informative.

    Thanks for sharing.

    5 stars.

  • what is cure?

  • BECAUSE YOu CANT COOK

  • i made this sausage and it tastes more like breakfast sausage than bratwurst. anyone know possible reasons why?????

  • to much sugar

  • One special spice is missing. There is always some spicy in that we Germans call "Majoran". This gives a very specific taste but use it carefully. Too much of this and it is tasting only to Majoran.

  • Marjoram, with an 'm' at the end. Lots of variants for brats for sure.

  • Harvey, keep the vids coming. I enjoy watching and learning from someone in the know.

  • you are very neat and clean with your food preparation.

  • how come you dont use whole milk like some brat recipe call for

  • we need 20 lbs of your homemade....we'll supply the becks.... 5 star vid for sure, thanks harvey

  • cottage roll is soooo good!!

  • Is that all the sausages you made out of that big piece of meat?

  • try the garlic flavored they're great

  • Look like they'll be delicious. Makes me wish I had a grill.

  • by the way. do u got any video of how to prepare the casing from its raw form.(Like straight from the intestines, cleaned and cure till it become the sausage casing) thanks alot it will be a great help..

  • wut are the casings made of?

  • sheep or hog intestines : )

  • mmm brats one of my fav foods anything bbq or grilled is so good. Best served with a good mustard on a good roll. I boil it for 10 mins or so in beer then grill till slighty crisp. makes it so juciy and good.

  • Meat for the mass. Good times

  • since we eat every day maybe we should spend more time preparing good food instead of f*****g aroud with BS

  • "Cure" is used in sausage meat to inhibit the growth of food poisoning and spoilage microorganisms, especially the bacteria that causes botulism, in case cured meat is mishandled and stored at temperatures above 40F.

Google Morton Tenderquick for more info. Thanks for watching!

  • I love food but that's a hella lot of work for a sausage dude.

  • brokoli99! What do YOU normally eat?

  • what is the casing made of?

  • You have a choice of synthetic casing (man made) or animal (washed and sterilzed animal intestines)... I used the real deal as the synthetic bite through is not as easy.

  • animal intestines...sounds delicious hehe... i eat chitterlings so i guess it's not that gross...thanks for the answer!!!

  • lol hell yea

  • I wish my best friend was a butcher... It seems like a dying art here in the U.S.

  • Homemade is always best. You get what you want , and you know what's in it. I will be following this process, but will use casings. Good video.

  • dam canadians

  • what is the 1 table spoon items? I can't hear it clearly.

  • lol condoms for casing

  • sure, if thats the taste you enjoy.

  • BBQtalk.c eh? :)

  • :)Thanks for commenting!

  • i had one of those grinders when i was a kid... i loved to use it :P

  • It still looks tasty, even raw! Good job. But I saw the movie 'Delicatessen' before... Bad idea!

  • there's a german saying that goes: "there are two things you should never see being made, politics and sausages."

    still, it's an interesting video.

  • hahaha i actualy watched this pretty cool proses though
