My roomie's (/my I guess) huahua get reverse sneezing sometimes when someone visits or comes home. Her tail still wags and it passes quick. At first it scared me to death, and now it's kinda cute/funny. Just too happy =P

My chihuahua does the same thing. My mom freaked out because our other chihuahua doesn't have that problem but now we just pet him to calm him down and have to be careful about him drinking too fast because that causes a fit too.

I concur with what has already been said here regarding pinching nostrils. I have a Chihuahua myself that does this, but his are much worse that is seen in this video. He does not sneeze, he just does the reverse sneeze in what looks like he is panicking trying to catch his breath.

After some research I found out that this happens because the trachea collapses. By pinching their nose, you force them to swallow and breath through their mouth, which always remedies the situation with my dog.

My chihuahua does this, it was scary the first time but he usually does this when we come home. He literally goes wacko but it doesn't hurt him.
