Basically, Soldier A is the generic name for a character that only has one line or just a scream or two, and then he or she dies. IT's basically just an extra.

Most anime voice actors can sing pretty well. Caitlin sang for a bit in Black Cat during her role as Saya. It's not surprising. Voice actors such as Eric Stuart and even Vic Mignogna have their own bands and recording deals. You should hear Wendee Lee sing.
