Now is not the time for us to recognize the Armenian Genocide. Though I agree that as Jews, we have a moral obligation to assist others, we must not do this in times of political upheaval with Turkey, as it would be an insult to the victims if it was purely for political reasons. We should do this out of compassion for the victims, not as a political "fuck-off" to Turkey after the flotilla incident.

Now is not the time for us to recognize the Armenian Genocide. Though I agree that as Jews, we have a moral obligation to assist others, we must not do this in times of political upheaval with Turkey, as it would be an insult to the victims if it was purely for political reasons. We should do this out of compassion for the victims, not as a political "fuck-off" to Turkey after the flotilla incident.

its was a civil war actually all though there were butchering of civillians on both sides...the reason why armenians are still arguing about this is because they lost their ancient homeland where they used to live with turks peacefully and they want it back

@JayeH82 The 812th battalion had nothing to do with Jews, the men joined to fight Russia and for Armenian independence. Also, they saved some Jews serving in the Soviet Army captured by the Germans. Some Jews were even sent inside the battalion to avoid detection, others smuggled to safety.
