@cuzgandalfgothigh99 You can play as any faction. You may have to start as english etc (Been a long time), but you can just attack everyone else and change your flag to pirate to become one. Then enter one of their ports and take pirate missions.

@DarkWTF69 Its because you've started the game in hardcore mode, For some reason the save function is disabled. Try it on a lower difficulty. Anything above lowest difficulty is insanely hard anyway.

Maybe, Except the age of pirate games are derived from the "sea dogs" series of games. In other words if anyone copied anyone, Mount and blade copied akella. Sea dogs 1 (or age of pirates -1 lol) came out way back in 2000, Then there was the game "Pirates of the carribean" aka sea dogs 2 in 2003, Then aop 1 aka sea dogs 3 in 2006, And now this game aka sea dogs 4.

dude, where do you go from there? Im suck, ive done all 3 of the quests to get my "crew" (including paying 5000 for the one-eyed smith), but the Arms of Freedom quest doesnt work. I got the ring and it says go back to tavern but nothing happens, i talked to EVERY npc in the plantation and the town, was in EVERY building and every room (looted almost every chest lol), wtf do i have to do?

i got through it, what i didnt do was to pick up the ring from the table next to the governors wife. After that its all smooth and simple. You end up with a Class 2 Frigate, pretty soon i made 2 million piasters (like 2 days). Makes me wonder if there really is a story in this game. Been on every island, every town, spoke to everyone and everyone gives me the same quests lol.

Got a ship-of-the-line now with all uber expensive pirate upgrades with a 700+ crew raping Spanish towns xD

that only happens to me when I'm in a ship that is too high of a level for me to handle. It usual decreases over time if you don't get rid of that ship and use a ship that is right for your navigation level.

I know. Its one of those games which are very overlooked due to other large releases. Like the game MAFIA, Barley anyone even heard of it until it came out on ps2. actually there are quite a few bugs, and things they cud have worked out quite easily if they really wanted too, such as;

Look out any window, what u see is not whats really on the other side.

Sometimes when blowing up a ship, and u started the fight ontop or VERY close to the destroyed ship, u start spinning around and eventually die aswell.

To only mention a few.

A good trick for this game is: find one cavern and enter kill monters fast, catch itens, them leave cavern and save game because sometimes u die .....make same thing all time....its easy to get many itens, in 15 minuts inventory full them go to your ship save your itens in your room, back to cavern and kill again, i begining play today and iam lvl 10 with 400k gold..... if u need pots go to one city in nigth and kill soldiers one by one, u catch many pots
