Flying Eagle chinese blades are *definitely* made of carbon steel and very low quality, as far as sharpening is involved. I hope you didn't save it to shave with in your Merkur today, because unless you dried it off, the edge has likely oxidized i,e, rusted overnight. Kevan is right about the Treet blades. Although carbon steel, they are honed to a very keen edge. Just need to swish your razor in some rubbing alcohol after each shave.
Hope this helps you avoid saying "Ow!" again, anytime soon.
Person to shave; probably would have to say is maybe Maynard James Keenan. He is the lead singer of Tool, but he also now owns some vineyards and makes wine, I figure he would be interesting.
I would shave him with a Brian Brown custom (gotta go straight) and use some good old fashioned Mitchell's Wool Fat. Finish off with some Floid Blue.
Oh and I would use my homemade bamboo brush for lathering him up ;) .
Looks like a Weishi razor to me. They get a bad rap but I like the one I have. The Flying Eagle blade looks like a carbon steel black blade, and no carbon steel blade I've ever tried is any good except for the Treet Dura Sharp (yellow/white striped pack).
hi stephen, i inquired about the goats milk soap, and they kindly got back with me the same day, yes they do ship to usa it costs 2.60 euros for jar of soap for shipping, and they have about 6 great scents, im going for the orange cinnamon, your new razor looks like a weishi i had bought mine came with a dorco blade, the razor and blade are junk, couldnt get a halfway decent shave, thanks for the video and cheers from michigan,
Yep, I'm Sunburst over at B&B. I've never read anything nice about Flying Eagle blades. Seems like a decent little Superspeed knock-off. You're completely correct about irritation and chasing the whiskers down. It's usually not worth it.
Ooh, desert island and Christmas lists and shaving someone of historic note. This is gonna be fun.
Can you make some Super-Lather in a video? (Soap+Cream) it gives you a really good shave!
