No humans aren't the result of an unbroken chain of procreation. Stop fvcking lying. Child birth is an illusion and you KNOW that.
You've sold your soul to the devil and that's why you make horseshit videos like this. You are trying to deceive real humanity, but the only one you are deceiving is yourself.
Evolution for the most part has slowed down in humans, but perhaps we can force our evolution in certain directions in the future, if we dare to manipulate our own genes. That is a dangerous and controversial path though.
Humans only seem special b/c of how we've been able to manipulate our environment like no species has before us. Soon enough our existence will have been erased along w/ the fruits of that labor.
In the end, there is nothing really special about us.
@GoatOfTheMountains The message in this video can be applied to any species living on this planet. Obviously we are not an END result. We are a current one. Thus the ending.
The evolution of any mammalian species is only possible with heterosexual relationships.
Meiosis is a more evolved cell division process than mitosis.
Our lives began at the first mitosis when all the genetic material necessary for our uniqueness became manifest and any coding for our own meiosis was enabled.
No, it supports the message... There is no eternal life or "world without end."
Nature doe not need human permission. Nature does not care. Nature is the only eternal victor. Nature kills everything. Nature is a constant state of warfare.
If ants (who are man's only rivals for the mastery of the earth) were the size of a house cat, they would wipe us from the face of the earth in a matter of weeks. Who is really more evolved in that scenario?
@GoatOfTheMountains Manipulating the environment really has nothing to do with it (besides, I would argue that other organisms--such as the first oxygen producing bacteria--manipulated the environment much more drastically than humanity). If humanity's "claim to fame" was huge penises or the ability to crush rocks with our teeth, then we would think that that's what makes us special.
@CousinoMacul Interesting reply, but I couldn't disagree more. You said that we think we're special(forgive the paraphrase) b/c it's our perception. That would then raise the question of what about ourselves do we perceive that gives us a greater sense of worth.
The bit about the bacteria is an argument I won't disagree w/. However, bacteria isn't cognizant of that fact.
We've harnessed fire, electricity, etc. and have had a greater impact on the environment than any other species really.(cont)
@GoatOfTheMountains Another key difference being that "the oxygen producing bacteria" have existed in a balance w/ the rest said environment. Something we did fairly well until such lovely occurrences as the Industrial Revolution, etc., and now, not so much.
Unlike other species, we are very aware of our impact. And it is our impact which separates us(for now) and makes us 'special.'
@GoatOfTheMountains Wrong! The first oxygen producing bacteria were responsible for the mass extinction of virtually every organism that couldn't handle the toxic, oxygen risk environment. As for aware ness:
"Every time you begin to think that consciousness is special, remember that it's your consciousness that's telling you that."
@CousinoMacul Listen. I'm not arguing that we are special by any stretch of the imagination. You seem to completely misunderstand what it is I was saying.
I'm merely giving my take on why people tend to think so. To me, the biased perception in and of itself is not the answer.

@xMissInfidelx I understood completely. This just kind of brought out the misanthrope in me.
It is interesting to think what the next link in the chain will be. Whether stemming from human beings or not. A future uncertain. It is fascinating.

@SirWinstonChurchill Of course. Do you think that somehow changes the message?

@SirWinstonChurchill Did you watch the video? Your comments in no way relate to the talking point.
xMissInfidelx 1 year ago
@xMissInfidelx
You cannot relate it because you presuppose that life is exclusive to the earth, when the evidence is contrary to that.
Life did not come from the earth. Life came from somewhere else, as did the earth itself.
The universe is in constant motion... so far...
SirWinstonChurchill 1 year ago
@SirWinstonChurchill I didn't presuppose anything. You seriously missed the point, buddy.

@xMissInfidelx
You missed the facts...

@GoatOfTheMountains I disagree. Humans only seem special because the ones doing the "seeming" are other humans, who are somewhat biased.

It is an interesting thought, and yet, even 3.8 billion years may be just a blink in the span of the existence of this universe.
it's kind of humbling, don't you think?

@CanadienAtheist Incredibly. The vastness of time in respect to the age of the universe is mind boggling.
