The best 007 ever!!! Roger was the ONLY Bond to go up against EVERYONE in their prime! George Lucas - Star Wars & Return of the Jedi - Raiders of the Lost Ark, Rambo 2, etc... basically every other major stars movies, Roger's 007 films went head to head! He didnt hide from them :)

Roger Moore is the best James Bond. I think the fact that he held on to the role so long partly because of Sean"s return in 85 tarnished his legacy. However, it would have been interesting had the writers chose to write Bonds advancing age into the script.

@btz2005 yep you are correct. I knew that just typed in the wrong year. Roger was set to retire after FYEO but he was asked to return and payed a lot of money to do so. Cubby did not want to introduce a new Bond to go against Sean. I guess they were afraid that they would not do better at the box then Sean if they introduced a new actor as Bond. So, Moore was signed for two more pictures and they won the box office battle. Moore's first 5 pictures including Moonraker were great.

Two of the best of Roger Moore's Bond....James Bond deliveries was from the 1983 21st Birthday ITV special when Roger is sitting in a leather chesterfield chair and turns to the camera and delivers the line with panache. The other is the Maurice Binder 1977 The Spy Who Loved Me promo when Roger is talking about his latest (and if he's not careful last) mission. Nobody does it better than Roger - HE IS JAMES BOND!

Moore was terrific but where were the close-ups for this famous line?? The best shot was the one you named from "For Your Eyes Only" with Melina but even that one is shot through a hazy windshield. These lines should have been delivered in iconic shots we'd always remember.
