When the note pops down and doesn't work, it's OK. Why, I say? Because the pipes are so living, and like living things, imperfect. I think that is part of their beauty. This piece is pure heaven. Soul reaching on YouTube, it would have destroyed me if I had heard it live.
that is seriously the most beautiful thing I've ever heard in mu life , Im soon to play this instrument , and I'll tell you Im glad I am even having the pleasure to be able to learn such a thing
@a432511 The tune is called "Doinna". Unfortunatley Mcsherrys pipes probably didnt like the humidity in the concert as his high E poped down to the low E in the first part of it. Thats not a criticismn. It just shows how difficult it is to control the pipes and how much this magnificent instrument is responding to his enviroment. Nonetheless! Well done John. Always a pleasure to learn from your fingers ;-)
he owes me a tenner........joking.....

He taught me pipes in Maddens bar Belfast before I moved to Perth, wa. A nicer, more modest guy you couldnt meet. And a fantastic piper

I can feel ghosts up my spine when I listen to this.
There's not many people on the planet that can play like this.
