  • Hickock45 you're one cool SOB! Great videos and I appreciate the time and effort you put into them. I have quite a few guns, but I never purchase a new one anymore without checking to see what ole Hickock has to say about it. Guide Gun for these big Texas hogs is next. God Bless you brother!

  • Hickock45, I like your videos. I hope some time you get to do a video on a keltec pmr30

  • Bear would still rush you and have his way even with that Glock hitting him 4 or 5 times pissing him off. S&W 500 is the only solid backup pistol. Marlin needs to make a lever action that shoots the 50 cal pistol ammo. Browning BAR Safari 338 or Rem 1100 tactical (slugs) is good choice for bears, you can rip off 5 rounds before you would get two off with the Marlin. 45 70 is still pretty sweet-

  • I'm a big fan Hickock but I have to tell you... I'm terrified of the thought of accidentally wandering onto your property.

  • @redphosphorus

Stay on your property and you have nothing to worry about. :)

  • I want more leveraction videos like this Mr Hickok.

  • I want your life.

  • I just wanted to tell you that I think you're fucking awesome!

  • i like Mr 10mm i used to have one now i have a mrs 9mm

  • Awesome, at 3:54 Hickok catches the ejected shell one handed in mid air Cool man...

  • @clevelandhibore1 He in fact did not catch it. It bounced out of his hand. :P

  • what r u shooting

  • @yz85camron Marlin Guide Gun.

  • fps russias dad

  • did u say zombies?

  • I love that rifle! Definitely getting added to my need list...

  • nice...love the guide rifle..I prefer the 44 mag tracker for personal in close bear

  • Zombies hate the cold..

  • What about a 94 whinchester 30-30 for a high powered gun.

  • Life is good indeed, with a hot .45

  • Thanks for taking a camera along with you, I enjoyed this video very much.

  • witch other ammo can the 45/70 lever action rifle shoot ??

  • Love the video and love the guns, I have both and I can honestly tell you I have no problems with zombies.

  • how scratched did that lens get? jk lol

  • I'm concerned about zombie polar/grizzly/black bears!

  • what are you shooting?

  • Quigley Down Under? No...Hickock Down Under.

  • man if factory ammo wasnt so much id love to have a big bore lever gun

  • Hey Hickok45 what's your thoughts on the Marlin Model 1895 Cowboy? 9rd's of 45-70 govt :-P

  • @Everett07630 , I'd actually love to have one. With three .45-70 rifles already, it's hard to justify, I suppose. Never know, though. :-)

  • @hickok45 Well I have a Glock G20, but I'm lacking in the .45-70 govt. The guide gun looks great for the purpose of being compact enough in thick cover. I got kick out of Marlin's "tacticool" model Model 1895SBL, but the 1895 Cowboy has got the 9rd capacity to make it a real "assault" lever-action lol.

  • @hickok45 where is this?

  • Taking my 45-70 govt caliber Marlin M1895 guide gun hog hunting in about one month. Looking forward to it too!

  • I look forward to these Hickok! Keep up the good work!

  • I like that holster your using for the 10 mil. What kind is it?

  • Hickock, Im curious what holster you have there for your Glock 20. Im in the market for a chest style holster such as that for a fishing companion.

  • @joebabino , See description.

  • Hickok, you should look into sending your 1895G into Grizzly Custom Guns in MO. They turn a good brush gun into an amazing, fast-handling bear slayer.

  • what r your thoughts on the hornady leverevolution ammo i just bought some for my marlin 336 30-30. do you have any experience with it if so let me know your thoughts

  • @robstott1 , Have not tried it yet.

  • @hickok45 well if you get a chance that would be a cool video even if it is on the 45-70. thanks for reply and keep the videos coming. cant get enough...

  • @robstott1 I LOVE the leverevolution ammo!!! It's doubled the kill range in my Marlin 336. With other ammo I'm surgical with the Marlin 336 up to about 100 yards, after that it gets kinda iffy. But with the leverevolution ammo I've constantly taken deer at 200 yards.

  • I dont know, 10mm for grizzly? Wouldnt that be like shooting an NFL line backer with a BB gun? 45-70 on the other hand.....

  • @Reapers261 10 mm for a Grizz?... Just turn the gun on yourself and spare the pain of getting mauled to death....

  • @MrDiem2 Yep, People seem to underestimate the power of a full grown Grizzly. A female griz can get up to 770lbs. Male's can get up to 1000lbs! Lets make the average 800lbs. Try to imagine 800lbs of pure muscle chargeing you at 35 mph. Even with a 45-70 success is dependent on shot placement. I'd rather have Bear spray myself.

  • Pretty slick when you eject then catch the rounds! Nothing better than a 45-70 for those killer Griz!

  • I would recommend you get a wireless mic that you link to the camera to obtain all the audio (voice) even if your back is turned from the camera and the crackling of the branches Side not: how large is the Hickok compound?

  • where is your bayonet for deer hunting? that could help with bears or zombies

  • WOLVERINES!!!!!!!

  • hickok what do you think about the H and R 45-70?

  • I wish it snowed like that in FL!

  • My all time favorite rifle , the Marlin Guide Gun .

I have an early one with a ported barrel and last year bought another just for the heck of it.

The newer ones do not have the ported barrel. They are great woods rifles , great for walking / still hunting , Marlin hit the nail on the head with this model.

Next on my list of guide gun types is the 444P , basicly a guide gun but in 444 Marlin.

    Good video Hickok .

    Thanks.

  • see this is the best review of guns. he even puts zombies in his reviews and videos

  • Gotta love the 45/70 GG, I NEVER go berry picking without mine here in SE Alaska...

    As always, great video!!

  • I thought the title said Hickok was going to show us how to moonwalk.

  • everyone knows that zombies are real

  • @The9Ninexox it was 70 grains of black powder, as the cartridge was originally a black powder cartridge. The name is all that remains now that they use smokeless powder. 1 grain = 0.06479891 grams

  • Thats what it looks like up here in Michigan except we have about 16 inches on the ground now. It sure is pretty though, Love the way everything looks after a snow fall.

  • 何時も日本でみてます。good

  • Now, I have an 1895GS myself, and it's a great rifle, though I don't know if I'd consider it heavy lead, maybe intermediate lead before I break out the .500 AHR. Both great rifles to throw around a ounce or more of lead!

  • This video just "Did it" for me, Thank you for your effort.

  • Life is indeed good Hickok45!!! Life is good! I love that quote!

  • The words "Walkn in a winter wonderland.." come to mind when I watch this. Great video Hickok45!

  • Outstanding video...

  • That looks beautiful.

  • were did you get that holster... i would not mind getting one for my glock 34.

  • Love it, did Big John pick up that wayward case?

  • lifes always good for hickok

  • God bless america and Guns

  • when a new zombie game comes out hicok45 should be the main character :D

  • @xsannyx It should be a first person shooter. I've always wanted to be hicok45 anyways :-)

  • My Marlin 1895SBL is only about 7 lbs. Pretty Light weight. Love trail blazing with it.

  • who else thinks hickok45 should be on top shot?

  • Zombies are a problem in my area too. Or atleast that's what I tell shithead Liberals to keep them the fuck off my property!

  • Hickok, as allways nice video, but did you have enough 45-70 ammo to make it back to your home!??

  • hickok4 who is cameraman? U just killed th innocent tree!

  • i think that if it came down to it, hickok could take on a small army if he had to.(referring to how many different rifles and pistols and anything else he has)

  • Snow and trees can sure be beautiful. The snow up here was like that here in my back yard in Kentucky. It looked like a Currier and Ives card, but -2 at 6 am following an ambulance as my wife was taken to hospital for kidney stones it was just dangerous on the roads. A good relaxing video to enjoy after I have her home again safely. Kidney stones may hurt as much as a kel tec shooting.

  • hickok4 who is cameraman?

  • I'm not a wuss, but I'm curious about the recoil of the .45-70. I was under the impression it created quite a wallup.

  • Would a semi-auto 7.62x39 rifle be an acceptable means of defense against most North American bear?

  • @30129ss depends how many times you're going to shoot it, but yes I'd say a 7.62x39 fmj should be able to penetrate a bear skull

  • Would a semi-auto 7.62x39 rifle be an acceptable means of defense against most North American bear?

  • go to his rabbit hunting vid, and look at this vid on the side: one view

  • Your carrying my favorite combo. I carry a .45-70 and a 10mm Glock 20 as well... When I'm not carrying the .458Lott... Never know when I'll be attacked by a Texas elephant or and alien necromorph... :) Love your channel thanks for the sanity and insanity :)

  • hickok45 real life rambo

  • love the guide gun! got the 45-70 and the .450 marlin

  • Damn a man who doesn't reload. I think Louis L'Amour said that.

  • I was expecting a zombie. :(

  • hicok have you ever shot 45-90 or 45-120 loads through you guide gun i have a marlin 45-70 guide gun and i like it better with the 45-90 load....you should give it a try.

  • That is a really nice rifle. Maybe if I get a deal on one after I am set up for reloading, I will pick one up. Looks like it has a lot of good uses.

  • @Jesses001 they are great rifles i have 2 marin 45-70's one is a guide gun its a lil shorter but still great.

  • Beautiful day Greg

  • Thats it. I am getting a guide gun :D

  • whats the temp there

  • Big Bore = Big Fun!

  • Hi Hickok, this doesn't look like your compound. Were you somewhere else?

  • where you ever in the armed forces?

  • @Blackops353 go over the faq video's i think its #7 or something

  • im so thankful that you do videos like this because i love the snow and just seasons for that matter because we dont see anything but summer down here in Florida...

  • Hey Hickok45 I have a guide gun in Stainless Steel a friend gave me some 500 grain Hornaday bullets just can't find any data on how many grains of powder to load them to ? i use IMR powder and when I load the the 400 gr bullets I go to 49 grains, just don't know what to load the charge to on the 500 grain bullet for my guide gun or if I should at all ,any help would be great.......Life Is Good, Brother

  • another sweet video. what ear muffs are you using there? they look comfy :)

  • Just think, in a few hundred years there are going to be sizable lead, brass and copper deposits to be mined on the compound!

  • you def need to be well armed out there you never know when a windshield washer fluid bottle full of water and red food coloring will attack lol great channel 5* sub and friend request sent

  • this probs seems dumb, but are bears actually moving south or where you joking

  • Hickok 45, 18 confirmed lawn mower kills.

  • i would so laugh if a polar bear just came out of no where in the end, but only cause i know that hickok45 would kill it with his bear hands in a second lol

  • I love when you hear shells rattling in Hickok's pocket! You just know there is going to be some quality shooting!

  • 5 people who hate this video are already dead by gunshot lol

  • i saw your guides choice with the 629, I have a 629 3" as well as a glock 20 and guide gun, funny we have alot of similar tastes in guns. Thinking of getting a guides choice for my 20. It gets alot more carry action in the woods than my 44's, alot lighter etc. Keep up the good videos.

  • what would be a better "bear gun", your setup here or a 12 guage with high brass slugs?

  • @awebzz Both good choices, though the Guide Gun is a lot lighter and easier to carry than a big shotgun.

  • @awebzz 99% of the time, you are going to be just fine with flare-gun why? Because eaither the bear is going to run as soon as it sees you or the noise of the gun is going to scare it away, eaither one is good for bear defence, it is HIGHLY unlikly that you are ever going to have to fire at a bear in a defence situation, in the US people are much more often killed by dogs than bears

  • @MrDiem2 rather not try to prove your point. You can fire a gun in a the air to try to scare the bear. Flare gun is not going to cut it when the bear is charging though. Stick with that Idea. I'll carry my gun.

  • @justinpar1107 I'm not just talking out of my ass, I live in sweden, Brown bear country, much larger and more aggresive than black bears in the states, I have seen a couple in my life, never carried a gun on me when I'm out hiking eaither. like I said as soon as they see you they are out of there, you just gotta make sure they can see you comming from a good distance away

  • Looks like Hickok45 is going to Narnia on a Minotaur hunt :)

  • Looks like you could use a tactical sled.

  • Nice, the new Glock holster came in.

  • Hey Hickok45 you should be on History Channels Top Shot!! I was wondering if you ever watch that show, and what is your take on it?

  • Global warming in full effect!!!

  • Ok....with all that snow I'd like to see a biathlon vid with you shooting a variety of rifles, shotguns, maybe a Glock or 2.

  • Comment removed

  • Love the Marlin Guide Gun. They are amazingly accurate rifles.

  • you recommend 10mm hickok? been contemplating it.

  • @kennyclone , It's a great round, just depends on what you want it for. I use it mostly around the farm. :-)

  • @hickok45 the Glock 20's recoil in this video looked pretty tame...

Oh, and one of these days I'm going to get a trapdoor .45-70. BOOM!

  • @roentgen571 Watch Hickok shoot ANY handgun. For some reason it always looks like it has tame recoil.

  • @hickok45 you should do a HD video on the 45-70 on your new camera

  • @kennyclone hey kenny i have a few 10MM's and compared to my 45 i like it better i feel it shoots flatter and has alot of power still but if you get a chance to shoot one i would recoomend it big time they are and awesone round. but i would try shooting one before you go to 10MM.

  • @kennyclone 10mm rocks.. but know what you're getting into. It's a bit pricey but great for reloading. Factory loads, DoubleTap BuffaloBore and Georgia Arms are good. Delta Elite is a nice 1911-pattern 10mm, but Glock 20 will accept a Lone Wolff .40S&W barrel for about $110, same mags, so you can shoot 2 calibers from one platform which is great for your wallet.

  • @kennyclone fbi and a few other federal agencies use them as well.

  • I'm just curious. About how many weapons do you own?

  • @liquidbullet5 im sure he only owns a few but u should check his vlogs out if u did u would know he doesnt answer those types of questions its a privacy thing buddy nothing personal

  • @frodo70444 ah ok. I've seen quite a few of his weapon reviews but i haven't really looked at his vlogs. Thankyou for the info :)

  • Another great video - thank you!

BUT - watch out for snow snakes! I'm sure you know what they are and how they kill you.

  • You are awesome Hickok!

  • looks like the woods behind my place.

you need a hoodie to keep all that snow from falling down your neck! :b

  • is that a ported barrell?

  • have you ever wandered into someone else's property looking like that? :3

  • hickock you strike me as someone i would agree with on many subjects.

  • @TriggrHappy91 , Just trying to do my part, one bullet at a time. :-)

  • This is Hickok's version of the "Run and Gun" .....

  • is your guide gun pre Remington acquisition? If not do you have any experience with them and how do they compare.

  • @Clanwog , Guess it is; I've had it for 11 or 12 years. I don't think Remington will mess with Marlin's quality; surely the reason they bought them is that Marlin is such a quality product. If Remington screw up the company, I'll wish a pox on Remington!!!! :-)

  • @hickok45 yea now that u got your 590 who needs remington anyway!

  • @hickok45 lol. it's marlin's quality that stops me from getting the 39A!

  • I like many did as children, ran around the neighborhood and fought invisible enemies and created great adventures of fantasy. Not many people hold on to that as adults. Let alone think to add our new toys to our old games. Love the videos and keep your inner child alive. Great fun, wish I too could play around like you do and have the fun you seem.... maybe one day. :)

  • 4:18 "Mr. 10 Millimeter" LOL, I love it!

  • do you actually get bears in your area

  • love your woods walk videos. maybe you could do one with those camera shooting glasses. seen some at cabelas yesterday

  • @irishmo87 I have them & they are nice, but when you using long guns and you put your face on the stock to shoot they often go sideways & the target is no longer in the frame. And the video quality isn't all that great.

Check out the squirrel hunt on my channel, and skip to 7:20 to see what I mean...

  • dont shoot me

  • Gee, you sure did get a lot of snow this year. Hickok, you have a great sense of humor...you have me rolling in almost all your video's. I really like the way you show so many different guns your in vids it is a real learning experience. Keep on posting the great vids. Very well done!

  • hey hickok have any zombies lately? if so can i help you kill em?

  • great practice for the upcomming hunting season...setting up targets different distances ...bit like the bowhunters do...

what i have is 4 x 6 inch round plates made of 5/8 thick steel...had the boilermaker cut them out with his oxy and protractor...the Y shape bits in between the curcles..i welded on the bottom for a base.. painted the vamilian red. they come to 2 kilo (4lb) you hit them with the 45/70 or 577 minnie (my 2 favorite calibre"s) they ring like a bell......

  • nice

  • haha nice eject & catch at 3:50

  • my vote...they make a new red dawn movie and cast Hickok45 to play patrick swazeys part....what you think Hickok, ready for the silver screen?

  • When the Zombie Apocalypse comes, Hickok is the man I want on my side

  • It would be Nice to have at least one guy in a squad in Afghanistan or wherever carrying one of those guide guns.

You know, for the cases where the 223 doesn't kill someone right away and the distance is to great for a shotgun...

  • "Haha! Splattered him all over"

I must admit to liking this video very much.. keep it up.. hehe

  • I wish you were my grandpa...............

  • what a waste of fruit punch

  • @greygoosevodka1, I agree; hundreds of children could have benefited from all that high fructose corn syrup and food coloring! :-)

  • @hickok45 yeah dude lots of energy

  • @hickok45 I used to have that stuff every day at latchkey after school. They didn't let us have water, and I can't drink fruit punch anymore without having flashbacks and going into shock.

  • @hickok45 LOL two shay :)

  • @greygoosevodka1 yea you couldve been mixing it with your grey goose vodka!

  • @TheRealDVairsoft lol right on brother!!

  • I have a Guide Gun, although it's not one of my "video guns". I'm more of a "tacticool" Tuber. I honestly think the porting on the barrel is a semi-wasted effort. Great video, but we got more snow in Misery errr...... uh I mean Missouri.

  • @MrSurgicalPrecision, Yeah, I agree. I'd rather have one without the porting, but it's not a problem or anything, I guess. If I ever trade it, I'll go for one without the porting, I have little use for porting.

  • @hickok45 First, thanks for the reply.Second, it's just a noise issue for me. Just not necessary. I'm sure you agree. Keep up the great work, love your videos always.
