I would totally NOT blame this on the Harley rider. After watching the vid a few times the Harley rider was nearly clear of the road by the time they came up on him. This is pure lack of riding skills...the KTM target fixated on the guy instead of watching the road. Yeah obviously the Harley guy shouldn't have been there, but even through he was if the rider had a little more skill/experiance he could have easily avoided this crash.
I love that the poster of this video is pissed at a guy picking his gloves up in the middle of the road. How should he get his gloves back? Should he wait till night time when there are no douschebags flying around blind corners at 40mph over the speed limit? Save that shit for the track

@64wing I agree with you there. I've seen so many videos on the dragon of people passing on blind corners, passing on double yellow lines. Just all in all riding with wreckless abandon. And I don't believe it's coincidence that most of these people end up in a crash. I just hope people start riding with some sense, before TDOT closes this road for good!

No foul on the motards part. If you ride at the gap expect to pass or be passed. It was a totally safe pass. Nothing would of happened if it werent for the squirrel in the road. If it were a cage it would be bad. On as bike it's fine. Us locals know where and how to pass safely.
@hotwheels56 - I know it is pretty common to pass on double yellows @ the gap but the facts are that it is still illegal (no matter how many do it nor how artificially "justified" they feel they are (like you). It was the biker's fault...PERIOD. If he can't control his bike (at that speed, he is simply going faster than conditions allow and is passing illegally). I guess the biker is lucky he doesn't have a ton of insurance bills piled up due to his ignorance so perhaps that is a good thing.

Yea, he passed on a double, but its a different world riding the gap, almost a code of conduct to let the faster locals pass you much like they did. I did the same when I rode it. The Harley guy never should have ran across the road like that with his helmet on, if you have to stop on the side of the road at gap it is very important to take off your helmet so you can hear the other bikes and cars. Had his helmet been off he would have been able to hear the other bikes coming.
I think the guy rushing to take his gloves and helmet off was still in a shock even after he was told 3 times the guy was alright. Completely understandable, pretty sure he was in shock due to the fact that he was thinking that could've been him instead of the other guy. Hell, i know i would be thinking that.
