May today be filled with happy memories of the past and bright hopes for the future. KA NEMY AND KA ESTELLA, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. I LOVE YOU BOTH!
I'm a big Mancini fan, but credit must go where due, and I gather that many here do not know he did not write this. It's a 1950 song adapted from Chopin's Étude in E major, Op. 10, No. 3. Jo Stafford sang the most-popular version.
There's often much confusion over "No Other Love," because the title also belongs to a Richard Rodgers song from 1953's Me and Juliet. (Actually, to compound the confusion, before that it was called "Beneath the Southern Cross," from NBC's Victory at Sea series.)
Could someone post MANCINI'S theme from MR LUCKY and FLOATING PAD from the same lp. Way cool stuff..thanks! My album so scratched it may as well be Marilyn Manson.,.
This is practically an entire lift of a Chopin piano piece; called Triste which also means something like why have you left me. He said it about Poland while playing it and it stuck. But I'm a huge Mancini fan and he did it justice. Really, Chopin can't necessary argue with him, since well, both are dead. but ....beautiful
Maybe he intended to change its meaning a bit, however similar it still may be to the original. "La Chanson de L'adieu" - The Song of Parting. I think the new title fits, as I believe it speaks of a beloved who has gone, but will forever linger in the now lone lover's heart.
Hauntingly beautiful. Brings back memories of my teens. It brings an ache in my heart for the days gone by and the people who were part of that period.
music for grown ups...

I just wonder why he change the title to "no other love"
The Etude already has a name, its called Tristesse.

Hay momentos como este, que la melodía es una suave poesía, que consigue elevarte a esa dimension.
Es imposible no sentir la emoción que deja una huella imborrable en el corazón :´(
