everyone should just get over early silverchair days. that's in the past. the band have grown up now and it's only natural to want to experiment with new styles. grunge was cool, but they've done that. so why not move on? dan has made an effort to escape from his darker days. so we're new we're getting brighter music. if people prefer the old material, then listen to the old material. don't keep whinging about their musical change, as if it will force silverchair to go grunge again. peace :)

@420Guitar420 I completely agree with you. Frogstomp and Freak Show are definitely my favorite albums by them. Neon Ballroom and Diorama were good but didn't rock as much as the other 2. Young Modern just blows. I'd hate to say it but they probably aren't going to make any more songs like they did on their first two albums or even songs like Anthem or Lever off the other 2. I like this song. One of the better ones on Diorama.

No, the backup isn't in a different key, it's just harmony (in the same key but different pitches).

that's pitch, not tone. in terms of pitch, an octave pedal does the same thing but the different thickness strings on a 12 string (and especially a rickenbacker), they vibrate differently giving it many different sound characteristics beyond the actual notes.

tell any hardcore beatles fan that you can replicate george harrisons 12 string with a pedal and they'll bop you one, lol
