  • Magic! Pure magic this song. Keep her rockin' Bruce!

  • :) song makes me cry :)

  • How do we get from this great song's message of hope to moron's calling each other names.

    Go find a sandbox children.

  • one of the best performance in Grammy history.

  • He's still soooo attractive. Stage presence is still there.

  • @CMurray1124 Attractive if you like an asshole stretched by two hands to the shape of a mouth saying, Ahhh, I had botox but shhhhh.

  • How many of you are listening to this in 2011 for WTC - 10th Year Anniversary...Beautiful for Song for the Tragedy that Happened in New York!! The Boss Still Has it!!

  • jus play it ovr n ovr again...

  • If there was ever a band to represent America...Bruce Springsteen would be it!

  • @76ComicFan America needs more than Springsteen you stupid jackass.

  • East Coast= deep

  • 9-11 R.I.P.

  • This is what we call REAL MUSIC.

  • @vvjm1221 pop junk. Swallow, drink, swallow.

  • @broncobra: Instead spewing your feeble-minded ranting towards people who don't possess your deep intellectual understanding of song lyrics, why not get your angry butt out from behind your computer and do something to honor those firefighters. How about a letter to one of their families, telling them you haven't forgotten their sacrifice, or a donation to their children's scholarship funds. Time to shut up and put up.

  • wow, first time seeing this. search Facebook for my note, "Still Rising" not inspired by this song but by memories of 9-11. great song too. :-)

  • @vetb882 9-11 had nothing to do with music. Music came after the fire, jackass.

  • Have a nice day.

  • Rip Clarence Clemons

  • This is pretty impressive...and inspiring. To be so real...and so uplifting...in such a shallow pretentious and fake Awards ceremony. Awesome stuff Bruce!

  • RIP Clarence Clemons.

  • thank you team six. this song is not about revenge. but i hope...that bruce plays this song when nyc raises the new towers in manhattan. God is a God of mercy...

  • @jacktala1 That's what I've been hoping as well. And yes, God is definitely a God of mercy. :)

  • @LilacLuna23 Mercy gives me dental care. I have none. Go fuck yourself.

  • hi my name is lisalove and i'm a big boss fan since i was only sixteen yeaars and now i'm 41 and i'm still a big boss fan, and i find that the rising cd should have won all five grammy awards, not three, the reason why i'm saying this because he worked too hard on this cd,and so he should've gotten all five not nora jones, her song does not have any meaning at all and i find that they have cheated bruce springsteen, and i also find that the song the rising should've gottenalbum of the year lisa

  • GOD BLESS AMERICA AND BRUCE.........

  • Listening to this in true celebration for the first time ever.

  • = AWESOME = !

  • Does anyone notice that Bruce's voice always sounds so rough whenever he's not performing at a "real" concert?

  • Dumb ass people, this isn't a feel good song or a christmas song, it's about a firefighter climbing the stairs in the tower on 9/11. Get a fucking clue.

  • nothing against The Boss, but he makes the WORST faces during the la-la-la parts =/

  • @rofflemows2 Just think what faces those firefighters climbing the Twin Towers were making. What have you done lately. What do you think this song is about? What face would you make while climbing up the stairs to a known certian death?

  • Waveinlight...The People are One...you inspire me...pass it on!!!!

  • My life at one point was lost … I came this close of losing it …thought of throwing in the towel…one afternoon, this song hit me in gut… keeping the fire burning in me that’s one damn SOB telling us all never to give up…the most sacred of our soul is the will to live in the face of utter hopelessness…this one has that spirit. If USA needs another anthem we‘ve got one. The BOSS of us all, please keep singing for those who don’t have a voice, “a common man”.

  • @wavinglight good story, but live your life for the goodness and individuality in YOU...YOU are unique and have lots of value...you don't need perceived idols to make you feel good about yourself =)

  • @rofflemows2 This is the story about the firefighters climbing the stairs on 9/11. Get a clue.

  • @rofflemows2 Good story about a tower or two that fell and all the death. Oh goodness abounds in the 9/11 tradgedy. Goodness abounds dumb bitch. read the lyrics. stupid fucker.

  • @wavinglight Please, please---I ask you with utmost sincerity: please slice your wrists, tonight. In the bathtub, in the dark, do it do it.

  • @wavinglight If this song saved your life, then please, please, slit your wrists because you must have one sad f'n life. And I'm not saying this to be sarcastic or anything, honestly. It's your comment that is so utterly absurd I want to blow wet farts all over your hairy legs.

  • @holden1787 Hahaha...you are so hilarious...

  • The risisng was the record of< the year indeed not Norah Jones boring album.Bruce is the best all time

  • hahaha...Nora Jones wins instead of this great album...what a joke

  • they don't make singers like this anymore.. he is a pure Legend, and 90% of the celebrities in that audience need to bow down !!!

  • he is no man, he is a god

  • @Pattonash Dont you know, god is dead?

  • @holden1787 Dont you know, you look like a dick, smell like a dick, and write like a dick, so stop being a dick. Go vent your fucking shit else where, not on this video

  • @nightfox I have a better idea that's more fun and involves just a few quick steps: Step 1) Get naked and lie on the floor, preferably with a cushy rug and a good stiff hard on. You will want to be comfortable. Step 2) Flip both legs over your body so that your toes are touching the floor behind your head. Your cock should be dangling somewhere above your face. 3) Open your mouth. 4) Lift your head off the floor as high as you can. 5) Insert cock in mouth. 6) Swish tongue around.

  • @holden1787 Seriously grow up, you are looking more and more idiotic the more times you post here. Do us all a favor and leave this video.

  • @Gilbs112 watch pretty much any other performance of this song, and you'll see Stevie(aka the guy with the hat) sharing the mic with Bruce and Patti. He always does it

  • bruce is like an angel. GO BRUCE!

  • bruce is like an angel. GO BRUCE!

  • Bruce makes me piss my pants and forget who I am for a minute or two...

    Springsteen/Weinberg 2012

  • bruce; as and when i need an inspiration the most; i listen to your songs you play. all these years you have been the most awesome guy who writes a real lyrics and sing to the fullest!!!

  • For the life of me I don't understand how Bruce didn't win 'Album of the Year'. I'm assuming it's all about politics, money....and youth.

  • The Boss

  • BLESS GOD BOSS 2011 SOW MUSIC 2012 *

  • ok that guy in the hat was annyoing kept trying to steal/hog everyone else's microphone and at the end where both of them went on the main guys microphone he was probably thinking "what the hell get away!!! There is 2 other microphones"

  • This was the first song I listened to when i was 5. And when my parents said I couldnt go see Bruce cause i was only 5, i was pissed. But now i think I can go since im 14 now XD.

  • 48,000,001 Fans right here..."Go ahead Boss me around!"

  • All very excellent, but, should girls really be allowed to join in ?

  • thanks bruce for everything! a hail from brazil! please come by, me and my mother are waiting

  • fantastia cancion

  • tis is the best

  • This sounds like uninspired generic gospel rock. How the fuck did this win a grammy over "Smells Like Teen Spirit"?!??!

  • @barfly11 9/11 atmosphere at the time; the rising is a statement

  • love this!!!!

  • The absolute motherfucking best of all-time Bruce Springsteen!!!

  • Bruce is great this is my favorite song of his this and born in the usa

  • Every single time I hear this song, it makes me cry Thinking of, inside the bodies going up, and, outside the bodies going down. A Powerful, deep song Powerful.

  • YEH LITTLE STEVE!

  • this song is definitly one of the greatest of the 2000's

  • Dream of Life.

  • Epoch and powerful song. The guy knows how to rock and conduct a dialogue with his fans.

  • Ah, that guitar @ 1:31 - Epic!

  • come to BELGRADE!!!!

  • I'd be gay for Bruce.

  • It took me a while, but I finally figured out why I'm so damned proud of Springsteen. He's a man.

    That's it.

Go ahead, name the MEN in rock.

  • this must have been the best grammy awards show ever. U2 performed i brilliant version of Walk On i think

  • a masterpiece. check out the VH1 storytellers version in my favorites.

  • little stevens

  • steve

  • steve van zandt,

  • @bdukie11 you might recognize him from the Sopranos!

  • He is the BEST

  • ooooooooooooooooh i love him!

  • Great song thanks for the post!!

  • Those assholes listening don't even care about the boss, cheap bastards

  • EL VIDEO

  • Thank you Bruce for all the years! I have hope in my heart every time I hear you sing...I appreciate you and what you stand for....

  • @grazininthegrassLu Read the words. It's about a firefighter. Climbing the stairs at 9/11. Don't be a dumbass like everyone else here. Read the lyrics. So you stand for him supporting firemen? Dumbass. Your heart sings when he sings of death? dumbass. Let me guess you are blonde and blue eyed.

  • @broncobra Before you start criticizing people for their interpretation of this wonderful song I suggest you take a step back and read the lyrics. Nowhere does it mention a firefighter, stairs or 9-11. The lyrics can be interpreted many different ways. This is a trademark of The Boss. Do not place your bias in the lap of someone else and then call them a dumb ass. For when you do so , it is you that is truly the dumb ass.

  • @broncobra His trademark is to write lyrics ambiguous and open for interpretation . This song may have been inspired by 9-11 but , in typical Bruce writing, he removes himself from the event to write a number about whatever the listener would want it to be about. The song does not mention 9-11 or firefighters. That is just a plain fact.

You are a vulgar person with bully tactics and I will not discuss this further with you.

  • @mlmr11 What?? This song is about an FDNY firefighter, a hero in my book, plain and simple. Anybody can see this, and why claim otherwise? This event changed America, for better and for worse. Let us honor those who gave their lives for others. We are ten year on, I struggle to forgive those who did this (or at least stop hating them so deeply), and those of us who so thoroughly botched our responses. I am proud of those great ones at FDNY, NYPD, and others who gave everything for others.

  • @Pleistocene01 I refuse to honor, they ran into burning buildings voluntarily or were paid and ordered to do so. Honor your cat.

  • Why are all the people so stupid here? Why don't they know what this song is about? It's not Xmas, it's not life. It's death. A firefighters death on 9/11 going up the stairs. Read the lyrics. Get a clue.

  • one only Boss, thank you Bruce!!!

  • I have been told I was Born when Born To Run was playing on the radio...an obsession with Bruce music began when I was born then...

  • Cool. I was born to 'Here comes the Sun", not Bruce...but still a good song

  • @wolfmyth007

I was reborn with Bruce :)

  • unbelievable...chills up and down me evrytime i hear this.............

  • He is just brilliant. What an amazing song.

  • ONE LOVE.. THE BOSS !!!

  • Yep, always loved Bruce, but the fans drive me nuts -- I like to hear the music and not catcalls of BRUUUUCE and all that. I also cannot abide a concert where I can't talk to someone and say, "Good show"... just the price of being awesome, I guess, and having everyone know.

Having a cup of coffee or something with Bruce is on many folks' bucket list, I'm sure. Certainly on mine. I admire genius and want to get close to it, to know it.

  • If you are a Bruce Springsteen fan, and go to concerts you will know that this only happens once he has finished. It is all part of who Bruce is, and he would be lost without it.

  • Well, then, I must have been to an especially loutish group, then. I don't do well with crowds and all that, and the noise level (and music level, too) really hurts me at a rock concert. One of the dreams of my life is to see Bruce in a small club, and get to shake his hand and thank him for all he does, on and off stage. I'm sure I'm not alone in that.

  • standing ovation from his peers every time!

  • He should have won album of the year.

  • wow i was seeing his awesomeness live before you guys were born.

    darn. i feel old

  • im 20 and have been a fan of Bruce for the past 16yrs. my parents have a video one me singing Thunder Road when i was 4. lol. BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN = ROCK GOD!!!

  • im 15 and went to 3 concerts, bruce springsteen's music till i die!

  • i've been brought up listening to the boss so basically since i was 3 or 4 and i am now 14 and still love his music!!!!!!

  • I started to listen to him when I was 13. I am 37 now I I STILL love very much his music ;-) I don´t get tired of him...

  • You are STILL listening to him LOL.

Realise this Holy Random Kid you will still be listening to this genius when you are 90 LOL.

God bless you and enjoy the beauty of The Boss.

    Take care from Scotland

    xxx

  • Im 18 years old and I love this guy! Keep rockin´ Bruce!!

  • Stupendoooooooo

  • i'm 17 years old and i'll listen to him forever.

  • im 16 and seen him twice, hes fucking immense ! =]

  • I'm 25 and i'm Dutch, and I saw him a few weeks ago live in Holland. He's the best..

  • ive listened to his music since i was 7, and im now 14 and i love it!

  • Bruce is simply amazing!! Untill now i´ve seen his 34 times, this summer i will see him in Torino, Rome, Sevilla and Compostela and in October, New Jersey!

    Long live the Boss!!!!!!!!

  • i'm 27 and french. i like the "boss" !!!

  • he is the man

  • Thank you bruce. I wish I could have been involved in the process. The rest of you can get lost. Really listen to what he has to say. he provides to the human spirit. Believe me. He is the the man.

  • Bruce is the best, Really listen to the words and hear what he has to say. He speaks the common man feelings.

  • i'm under 20 and i love it!

  • @Robinson2213 I'm 2 mo's older than Bruce is at 60. He's been the soundtrack of my life ever since 1972, living in Greenwish Village, getting married, moving to Jersey, having kids, driving by his concerts at Giants Stadium day after day. I must have listened to his songs over 100,000 times in the last 40 years.

  • fuck you straightfrombullshit

im 15 and i fuckin love this shit and i know alot of other ppl tht do! so fuck you

  • People under 50? What, you don't develop good musical taste until then or something? Quit being a jackass.

And Bruce Springsteen is the everyman who sings our songs in our hearts.

  • oh yes, we do!!! I'm 17, and i've been listening to him for 5years. Just amazing!!!

  • Im 13 and I love his music

  • I'm 15 and i have all of his albums(:

  • My God, He's amazing!

  • Jak wszystkie uwtory.Swietne!

  • I like Nils' place for holding his slide, very smart. And I've always loved the way Bruce strums seven barrels of shit out of his 'teles

  • I watched this last night and went to bed thinking about what it was to be a fireman climbing up into the Word Trade Center that day. That's what this song is about. Bruce Springsteen is the voice of everyone. I woke up sweating about how horrible it all was, as I have for years. 9/11 changed everything.

  • But the great thing about this song is it's about rebuilding. And as with Bruce's new anthem "Working on a Dream" we can hope that this darkness will finally lift and wounds can finally heal

  • Bruce is terrific live! thisis one of my fave songs ever!

  • On the VH1 storytellers DVD he explains the song line by line. Initially I didn't understand it, but I do now. The acoustic version suits this song better by the way.

  • every song bruce wrote sounds better either by acoustics or piano. Whats amazing is how good he and his band are, that they can transform folk songs into rock and roll

  • fuck you grammys for picking Norah Jones instead of this comeback classic album. That's like when Kevin Costner won for director over Martin Scorcese for Goodfellas in 1991

  • i agree! this rocks!

  • u right about that!the grammys cheated bruce off and he was nominated for this album twice and lost!

  • so, how can I make Bruce my best friend? How would I go about doing that?

  • i love this song

  • One of the best songs ever.

  • Better live!

  • standing ovation from his peeps each and every time.

  • so it should be i think big respect too the BOSS !!!!

  • Comment removed

  • it was a crime he didn't win album of the year for this

  • Amazing, hope he does good in the Grammys!
