  • just uploaded a Carvin Legacy - tone city part 2 video. this time with my hard rock group Ratchet

  • is this song called "Kids Sundance" ? haha i cant understand what he says... great work

  • Do you have a sustainer installed? if not man i would def look into it if you havent already, your hitting a lot of the BLEND mode tones

  • you got it dude, that sounds so f-ing good!!! those 2 little girls know what real music is.

  • Great Tone Brother ... what does your effect chain consist of ? Also, what kind of guitar are you using? Pick-ups? Inquiring Minds want to know ... seriously tasty playing man ... ala Gary Moore ... Keep On Letting Your Light Shine ... !!!!!

  • @GuitaristPAX here is my set up - guitar - 535Q wah - master head front input - FX out into G major in (mono)- Gmajor left out to Master fx in (Rear) Gmajor right out to Slave head FX in (rear). in this video I was using a Ibanez RG520 with the zakk wylde EMG set up and a EMG SPC control. For midi control I uase a rocktron all access midi controller. On the Gmajor i use the pitch patch set to no pitch and a 20 ms delay to right side, 100% wet. some verb and delay - thats it :)

  • @EL84 what kind of WAH are you using? Bad horsie 2?

  • Hey all : if you want to hear these same amps doing metal and hard rock goto my main youyube page and Check out Ratchet

  • I don't think I have ever heard better guitar tone in my life..

    Do. Want. Now.

  • which eminence legend speaker do you use ? i look them out on the eminence site and they have four different kinds . ranging from 50w to 150 w . please let me know which ones your using thanks man . great tone and great playing . p.s. i think you should do another song like this and post it a.s.a.p .

  • @ibanezman6996 I've got a good new instrumental tune with my band Ratchet. I will vid it this coming week and post it... many thanks

  • @ibanezman6996 also I need to look at what model they are and will post

  • fantastic playing

  • If i would have been there I would have walked up and flailed with those children.

  • thanks for the reply...I want to buy Eminence speakers but there are many Legend tipes:

    GB128 , 1218 , 1518 , 1058, 1028K, 1028...what do you use? thanks

  • hey all. recently I bought some V30's and tried them out with these amps. I have to say I think they are the wrong speaker for the Legacy amps. I think these are best with Eminence Legends.... 6 years went into that sentance lol

  • @EL84 hi I like your tone very much...I want to buy a guitar amp...I have a Valveking combo but its for metal stuff ...I m looking for a worm tone...I played a Legacy amp yestarday but didn't like it so I thoght it was the v30 that make it sound bad...do you think I should buy it...I can use a difrent cabinet.....the tone was brutal ..it wasn't warm at all....do you use compresions and cabinet simulators on your TC Elc or is just your speakers that made it sound so warm and easy playing.?

  • @Sebastianodelarada try Eminence legends. i dont like the v30's with this amp at all. no sims or eq from TC unit. I also do metal on this amp try the More live video on my page

  • made that guitar cryyy! nicely done guys!!

  • Where's your record deal? Awsome!

  • It is sad that only those two little children can appreciate such a masterpiece. Still, youth is the future, so there's hope.

  • Great!

  • can't stop cumming

  • Nice Jam! I have the Carvin Legacy. I really didn't like the 2nd channel and I also use a vintage strat 62 ri fullerton. The clean channel is sweeat...like a vintage fender. I put 6l6s in but the 2nd channel still seams to be muddy. I use a tube screamer overtop of channel one ad it it pretty awesome as is!!!..Still, any advice on the 2nd channel would be helpful. Great amp, best bang for the buck and competes with 2k amps. Still, my 2nd channel is too saturated on my guitar so I don't use it.

  • 2:15 The music is so pure n soulful that the black girl in the bottom is probably talking to God lol.

  • @francisco444 Thats Fuckin FUNNY MAN!!!

  • great playing and awesome tone...I used to have a legacy, thinking about getting a leg. 2. I also think it's great how those kids move in a natural and uninhibited way to the music. There is a purity there that we self-conscious adults lost a long time ago.

  • Just came in from a long day. I checked this out for an idea how the Legacy sounds cause I have one on the way. I sat back from being a bit tired and totally got lost in your playing man! Sweet playing brother! Thanks for the relaxing trip.

  • WOW!

  • Great playing and great tone!!!

  • I like how it ends with Security Guard obvously telling them to turn it down.

  • @jtryde actually that guy was some local producer wanting our contact info. the security was great and didnt bother us at all. we were paid to play there

  • @jtryde you're obviously retarded lol

  • Whoa. "Souless wankery?" I would love to have attended this. Wonderful emotions; it has a nice transcendental feeling. Thanks for sharing! I'll have to check your channel now. Cheers.

  • I didn't mean that Steve Vai only intended this amp for legato melodies.

  • Cranking 2 Carvin Legacy's in a shopping mall is pretty badass in and of itself. Very nice playing! Sounds like what Steve Vai intended this amp to be used for. Nice melodic legato playing. I like it. Keep up the good work!

  • Fantastic stuff guys.....Thank s for sharing !!!! Great sound :)

  • great feeling, nice video...

  • Great expression. I would pay no attention to Abandonedmachine he's a 25 year old idiot from somewhere between Poland and Russia, Bumfucked Egypt what's the difference? Dude this I think really brings great credibility to the Legacy. Some serious badassness.A+

  • very beautiful song ! is that a Steve Vai song ?

  • I'm not sure sure what other people are thinking, that sounds outstanding!

  • Not v30's. using a vintage fender (eminence) and a celestion g12t75 in each cab

  • @EL84 Nice, I prefer the g12t75's over the 30's. You can't go with those speakers with the legacy man! Great choice! El34 tubes or 6L6?

  • great tone!!!!

are you using celestion vintage 30 ????

  • Hi! I think this playing is just awesome, don't listen to the critics. However, I would like to say that although technically perfectly played runs on the guitar, what is missing are; crescendos where the whole band goes low and loud at points of 'passion', and I hate to say this because you play so well and I love listening to it, you have the guitarist disease of overplaying. I'd like to see more hanging on the notes. Satriani and Vai sound so good because of the silence between the notes?

  • Comment removed

  • I feel this totally lacks badassness.

Souless wankery (not in a good way :D) that fails to move me.

  • I wont remove this... its fine you feel that. everything moves us all diff. for more badassness you'll have to listen to my hard rock group, Ratchet. This stuff here is not about a display of "Look At Me"

  • are you running any overdrive or anything in this vid? amp sounds great, nice playing man

  • @Ratchetftw no pedlas except wah. natural amp distortion only. thnx

    Ty - guitars

    Ratchet

  • This is totally badass.

  • how can you just walk by this stuff. i mean listen to it. its freaking grat. dude is pouring himself into the music and people dont care?.....o and the dancing is a plus. lol

  • Yeah Man it's a serious injustice. However, in the case of EL84, he is doing it right ! He just keeps bringing it out from the Heart & Soul & people KNOW IT! Even if some never figure it out, then at least he has given an organically pure & honest sound from the best of what he has to give & in the End he can feel good that he made a joyful sound unto the Universe. I'd rather listen to ONE EL84 than to listen to a million guitar heros...we could all use a lesson from an EL84 believe that!

  • Great

  • Haha those little girls are getting down! They're doing their version of what some would call 'the hippie dance'...watch any woodstock video and youll see plenty of hippie dances!

    Great song/guitar tone..maybe a bit too vai-ish

  • That may be because its the Vai signature amp :)

  • So bad ass...

  • Excellent playing by everyone in the band. It saddens me that there are three very talented guys playing their asses off and people are just walking by without even acknowledging it. Sigh...

  • Oops, did I say three guys? I meant four. My apologies to the percussionist. I didn't see him there behind the guitar player.

  • thnx - there is actually 5. Cute girl playing keys behind bassist :)

    Ty - guitars

  • Doh! You're right. yes FIVE very talented musicians. LOL!!!

  • yah man people in the (real worlkd) dont know what talent is ,,,,, anyone that listens to the radio or muchmusic thinks metal sucks or instrumental sucks u know just cause they have screaming

when screaming takes so much talent if u are actually a good screamer and in metal thats where all the best musicians are tech metal

    mainstreem people piss me off

  • OMJ!!!

    Y'all are brainwashing those kids!!!

They're performing some sort of ritual! Hahaha

    But nah this is badass!!!

I would've stopped in the middle of anything to hear this!!

  • Yeah and that ritual is getting stoned and zoning out at jam band concerts lol

  • Hell yeah!

    I hear that!

    MJ ftw

  • Comment removed

  • I love your style of guitar playing same stuff im into. Great work!!!

  • people just don,t recognizereal musicial talent anymore!! they rather listen to a bunch of over-dubs with some dude talking over it.you know that rap shit!!!!!

  • Wrong crowd lol...

  • To most, this is noise from another planet.

They're wondering when the singing starts.

This reminds one that it's quite a small group of peeps that can enjoy this self indulgent git centered genre. Betcha a sax would fair better.

A classical quartet would get as much attention me thinks.

  • Cool stuff guys - I counted 3 people that even looked at you and only one guy that stopped. Very sad indeed.

  • thanks. No worries about the people. It was a food court in a mall. There was a big seating area about 35 feet from the stage with people comming and going all day long eating/shopping type thing. If it was hip hop or a DJ they may have stopped but thats just how people are...

  • music awesome...kids amazing!

  • Awesome tone and playing!!! Wow!!

  • That was great. DO NOT STOP WHAT YOU GUYS ARE DOING.

  • The guitar tone is out of this fucking world. and the band as a whole sounds phenomenal.

  • What cab are you using and what guitar? sounds great!

  • Isn't it sickening to see all of the idiots just walking by like they don't even notice. What does this say for society in general? If it was some rapper with his shorts half way to the floor then there would be a thousand idiots saying "woot woot" in unison. It's pathetic.

  • True

  • i cant stop watching kids

  • good

  • Are you using some distortion pedals or only the amps and the TC G Major?

I think this is one of your best !

  • thanks

just the amps distortion. it was on 50 watt mode here. only fx other than G major is a 535q wah

    Ty - Ratchet

    myspace/ratchetsf

  • All of you guys sound great, the guitarist has great feel and dynamics to his playing, 5 stars :)

  • stopped by to here this again for a little inspiration myself...lol

My metal band Ratchet is doing very well now and we are super busy :) Legacy's holding up well playing tons of shows. Dreaming of a couple Bogners though :)

    Ty

    myspace/ratchetsf

  • just the amp

  • i would of fuckin slapped them kids if i were there watching

  • Comment removed

  • Nice balanced sound, awesome gig man.

  • Great job man! Skills & Emotion! Very special...

  • What are you using for speakers in your cabinet ? Thanks / GJ

  • Can I get your autograph sir :) This can be put in between our set..

    Pretty cool Ty...

    -Scotty

  • wow I am honered. many thanks.

I am now playing in a metal band...lol

    myspace / ratchetsf

    Ty - guitars

  • NOt only have you sold me on getting a Carvin Legacy you truly inspire for me to practice extra hard as i could only hope to play like that one day. Thank You very sincerely.

  • nice playing!! it probably would have been cooler if the people actually understood what they were hearing...sucks all you got was two annoying kids playing in front of you and people walking by like they dont even know a band is playing at all. some people just dont get it i guess.

  • The people would stop . . . and listen . . . if there was a singer . . . alas . . instrumentals like this magnificient piece just rate a walk by . . . not even a look . . . WELL ITS DAMM GOOD FOLKS . . . no ears . . . they have no ears . . 10 out of 10 . . thanks for the great playing.

Peace to all - Gringo Jet

  • you slay, but could you have gotten a more awkward concert venue?

  • Nice tune, Nice live

  • is this the drive from the amp?

  • yes. just the amp and a G major for FX

  • Cripes! That was textbook good! Very tasteful, with soul. The tone was to die for. Perfect performance! Really cool chops, man! 10 out of 10!

  • killer tone man. amazing. oh, great playing too

  • who's the guy in the suit .ok guys you done get out now my name is security.

  • Sounded great!. I also agree with the guy who said the little girls are on acid. The girl in the red is really in tune with music.Wow!

  • Nice job! Not enough guys take advantage of this. Stereo is a bit much to haul around but worth it. I do something similar with a Marshall 2204 head, take the line out into a stereo processor into a stereo Marshall power amp. Pretty big sound. Good luck to you, rock on.

  • How are you slaving the Legacy heads? Are you going from the send of one loop to the return of the other? Thanks in advance for your response.

  • using send from master head going to G Major FX unit then into return of master and slave heads.

So only using preamp of master head

    Ty

  • Great tone... and VERY tasteful playing!

  • i think someone gave those kids acid.

  • sounds very sweet, killer tone

  • Hi, may i ask why you need two carvin heads? Are you using carving cabs? Thanks.

  • I guess to be able to play true stereo, probably using a delay effect or such.

  • correct. I use a 20 ms delay to the far side for studio like double tracking. Sounds huge @ the shows.

  • impressive

  • Loved it, very bluesy, nice tone

  • Amazing man

  • All you guys looking for the tabs need to work on your musical ears. The entire solo is the minor penatonic scale in the key of D, with some out of t he box stuff. Go learn your penatonics, and it will sound exactly the same. BTW, I really loved the solo, the phrasing and the buildup of emotion over the 5 minutes was what got me the most, and shows off your musical maturity much more than the shred parts. Execellent! 5/5 and subscribe.

  • its amazing how similar these dancing children are to musicians on drugs....and this song gives me the same feeling as maggott brain

  • 3:47

  • MSU Orchestra.. michigan state?

  • Make Sh*t Up ...lol

  • me too... watching over and over... his rig is so "simple" in the good way... nothing tubes and goodly fingers cant solve

  • How comes the tab? :P

And omg.. I think i've listened to this about 543805347805 times.. im ADDICTED!

    It's so.. Emotional!!

  • fajnie

  • Damn....I love that kind of playing, and I sooooo want a Legacy....

  • absolutely incredible.. don't suppose you tabbed this..? one of the most amazing instrumental jams i've ever heard.. KUDOS!!

  • 4:08, textbook Satch

  • Those little girls are really in the moment.

  • What wah are you using?

  • Sounds awesome! Nice fuckin shred brotha. I would have been standing with two metal signs way up!

  • dude this band and song is soo kickass

the 2 little girls dancing made this funny

reminded me of when i was little at disney

  • awesome, amazing melody...great tone too, are you using any other dist/od/boost pedals? or is it straight from the amp? oh and would you mind sending me the tabs for bits of it? cheers!

  • I have a DS1 on my board but for this I am just using my drive channel from the Legacy.

Recently I went to the Carvin Outlet in Sac and played these amps. Totally sounded like dog crap....lol found that it was the speakers there are paired with. This amp sounds like fuzzy crud with Vintage 30's. Im using Fender Vintage and Eminence. After several requests I will start working out the tab for this,,,,,staytuned and thanks for listening :) Ty - guitars

  • Nice job! good "Vai´s style"!

  • lol and there not even mine

I dont know who's kids but they were there for the whole 3 hour show

  • i would've paid to see a jam like this. when i close my eyes, i can imagine you playing in a venue like the one satch played in san francisco.

  • lol I was at that show :)

had after show VIP pass and got to meet the man

  • you've made me jealous and awe inspired at the same time. By the way, how was your encounter with joe?

  • Awesome Jam! great job guys!, love that guitar play Ty! =)

Hook me up with tabs bro =P

  • wow it will be a tough one for tabs but I can get the main stuff for ya for sure

  • that will be great ty! =)

  • dude I still have the tabs and video u gave me on ur band song "You Left Me" lol

It was a great while back =)

  • damn, this is amazing, this was prob mostly improv wasnt it? Thats def gonna be hard to transcribe into tabs, but if you manage to get it,would you mind if i had a copy of it as well? thanks
