  • CLASSIC! For a great KRS-One interview search " The Archivest Exclusively Interviews The Teacha KRS ONE " there he explains the behind the scenes of this video. Basically that Russell Simmons threatened Def Jam artists not to appear on this song or Self Destruction. However LL Cool J, Jam Master Jay & DMC defied him and recorded their verses anyway but that's why LL didn't appear in this video. He also said that the video cost $100k and was directed by Jonathan Demme.

  • Human Education Against Lies tries

To open the eyes of humanity before it dies

Black and white ain't the real fight

That's the only thing the media hypes

The real fight are these major corporations

    Holding back on real education

    Before you're a color, first you're human

Teaching humanity is what we're doing

  • Haha Bumpy Knuckles rapped less harder and with different voice back then but much smoother. And where is LL Cool J?!?!? And why are there no more songs like these with meaning today?!?!? Oh yes I forgot, because rappers sold out!

  • Only Education can save people!

  • TAGORIAAAAA. Obama was raised my Muslims. Read the Bible it will tell you all you need to know. 2012 is real kids. REPENT.

Had not seen this video, very good!! Thanks

  • I'm in this video as well. I'm the light-skinned brother (FOI) wearing the suit and bow tie at the end of the video...LOL I was working at Yo! MTV Raps at the time and this video was directed by the late great Ted Demme, co-creator of Yo! Grew up with Freddie Foxxx and talked to him just he other day! This was a good day in Noo Yawk and in Hip Hop! RESPECT!

  • Ah man this was the joint, I forgot about this. Now do yall see why this type of Hip Hop music had to get shut down on BET/MTV/VH1? JMJ on the mic? I don't even remember that.

  • classic.

  • Music WIth A Message!.....Man I miss the actual creativity that rappers had.

  • I remember it on "Yo ! MTV raps". in '91 I guess.

    Good memories...

  • the most played song on my stereo -on my car - on the radio --before 10 and more years.....

  • yo does anyone know where i could get that loop that starts when latifah starts rapping?..at 2.24? would be nice

  • Its a shame that while great music like this was being made, all the media talked about was NWA, gangsta rap and how negative Hip Hop music was. The control freaks divided us from our parents by making them so opposed to Hip Hop music, that they never heard songs like this. I argue with my mother and my uncles still because they firmly believe rap music destroyed black culture. Hip Hop and black people would have prospered greatly if certain people hadn't interfered. We lost 15yrs.

  • I remember this Great Track. God is good, Thanks for posting.

  • Jesus, this is LEGENDARY video, so raw.. 5!

  • DOPE!!

  • Can't belief this is the same Freddie Foxx as now. His voice is much more raw and agressive now then back then. Classic track though yeah. Much needed today.

  • This is RAP MUSIC. See all these people around? They are waving, jumping with big smiles -thats the essence, not another ass shaking, rented cars and fake thugs. 2009? Some fake sidekick of rick officer ross calling himself "gunplay" hating on Kr One.. Somebody kill that retard out there people :) The only lesson fake rap industry can learn! Eternal props from Poland :)

  • The worst fact is that a large percent of the old school artists who paved the way for this new school of talentless cookie cutter hip hop "artists?" were more or less robbed of any financial profits by the record companies, especially Jive! The new school, I've noticed recently though , are inviting members of the golden age to guest spot on tracks to get these guys some payback for creating the genre. There needs to be more of that. These stars earned it!

  • GREAT comment!

  • hip hop classic

  • KANE...FOXXX...LYTE...LATIFAH..LL...KRS...RUN DMC...DAAAMN, this is a track!

  • This has to be one of the best videos ever made. Absolutely f'in love it. Such a dope song too.

  • I feel the same way my friend!

  • Dope upload!

    Freddie Foxx put it down!!

  • That's my part too! (I wonder what ever happened to him)

  • He's still in the underground making music: 1989 Freddie Foxxx Is Here (MCA Records) 1994 Crazy Like a Foxxx (Fat Beats Records) 2000 Industry Shakedown (Landspeed Records) * A classic album 2003 Konexion (BBE) 2006 Street Triumph Mixxxtape (Fat Beats Records) 2006 Amerikkan Black Man 2006 Krupt Mob (Indie) 2007 Krupt Mob Vol.2 (Indie) 2008 The OG Vol. 1 Get Rich Or Kill Tryin 2009 The OG Vol. 2 Realmatic
  • @urbanmusicnow

He still raps as Bumpy Knuckles

  • Queen Latifah ripped this joint!! I miss hip hop videos like this.

  • yeah, La went in on 'em..

  • i heard mr cee cut this up on hot 97 the other day..had to peep the video on yutube! this joint is still dope! luv it:)

    yo who produced this track?

  • Oh man... good ol days.. Yo MTV raps!!

  • This Track is a old school version to what Bashys message in Black Boys is tryna put out now.

  • God, this clip is pure gold. You can't discripe the feeling it gives me to see this...

  • Thanks for enjoying!

  • Why don't they make songs like this anymore, you know, Self Destruction, H.E.A.L, We're All In The Same Game? Oh, yeah, I know why, nobody's sayin' anything worth a damn. These were the days. I'm glad I lived it.

  • My sentiments exactly!

  • Yo I'm glad u have the original video 4 this classic because KRS & L had a falling-out which led 2 L's verse (recited over the brother's radio, dope idea) being removed from the song & video, good looking out urb.

  • Hey, you were right. I checked out some other postings of this video, and LL's lyrics WERE removed! I didn't know they had a falling out, which makes sense, because these two hip-hop pioneers rarely talk about each other nor are they seen together. LL Cool J had written MC Lyte's classic verse in "Self Destruction," so I thought they were cool. I had wondered why these two giants never really did anything together. I guess now I we know.

  • BTW, Thanks ALCORDERYJR!

  • what ever happened to Harmony?

  • I'm not sure. unfortunately, with a generic name like "Harmony," it will be kind of tough to find what's she's been up to.

  • She was great though, Harmony was in BDP I believe, so i guess checking up on Ex-BDP members like Jamalski, Miss Melody, D Nice, surely those are the more well known

  • thats me behind Mc lyte when she say's (WIK WACK System ......the one with no shirt on.......lol

  • Okay! Shout out to you! It must've been a lot of fun!

  • Amazing I first saw this video when i was a child great pick

  • Thanks!
