  • Funky little happy tune

  • like playing video game

  • @XComputerManX How convenient of you to call me a frenchman, where on earth did you read that? I'm belgian. Oh that's right you can't distinguish nations cept for your own, you're an american. Sorry :)

  • @esdenaze Yeah, how dare he make that mistake, everyone knows you sold France to the Germans!

  • @ChuckSFP ???

  • @esdenaze Never mind... everyone knows you can't make historical connections because you're European...

  • Bow-hunt everything

  • The French are cowards

  • Haha what the hell with the boost on comments on this article, was this featured on cnn or something.

  • Why do Americans hate the French and vice versa? They helped make us a country and we (along with the brits) helped liberate their country, so according to our history we should like each other.

  • @3ISAMAGICNUMBR Because, and I'm trying not to come off as a complete troll here: The typical American that you encounter in daily life in the abroad or see in the media act like they are completely ignorant of another nations culture and intricacies, this is most likely because of their own lack of culture. Like I said before, I'm very much away of the fact not EVERY American is like this, but they just do a hell of a lot of effort in making it seem like they are.

  • @esdenaze I agree that a lot of Americans are stupid, and believe me I know. High School girls, wow! But it is frustrating knowing that everybody thinks you are stupid just because a handful of your fellow countrymen are. I also think it is just as ignorant to believe every American is stupid. And by the way, we do have a culture, other people are just close minded and allow themselves to believe that America is what the media tells them what it is.

  • @3ISAMAGICNUMBR And all in all this got bloated up to enormous proportions, my initial rant was directed at some inconsiderate who said something insulting about the french for not bulldozering down the mountain. Which enraged me quite a bit, and like I said before I'm aware and I apologize for claiming that every American is this or that. Let's see it as an ongoing effort in educating America in understanding culture a bit more, and not the kind they read in 11$ glossy magazines.

  • @3ISAMAGICNUMBR mate..the french hate EVERYONE...not just americans!..as u say,us brits, with a lot of help from our american cousins, have helped them out of the shit on more than one occasion, yet they still treat us with utter contempt! i think its all the garlic......

  • @twiggy7275 ya know what, fuck em'

  • @twiggy7275 Actually without the help of the french, you lot might not even have existed as they were crucial in defending the independence when you were nothing more than a colony.

  • @esdenaze That may be true, but the point is,the french do seem to have an attitude issue when it comes to the rest of the world..some may say, with good reason, britain and france have long had a somewhat shaky relationship,so lets agree to disagree on this subject eh?

  • how short do you want your hair cut

  • French don't cut the hill because they are not scray like dumbest american

  • @JasMasKas scary? P.S **im form australia**

  • French don't cut the hell because they are not scary like dumbest american

  • It's really nice at least - that the end of the runway is on the nude beach (or so I hear)...

  • Thanks there are real pilots landing at runways for...real pilots. :)

  • This is an official "holy crap" short field landing airport.

  • french people are dumbfucks, that's why the hill wasn't removed.

  • @bombardierdude15 That's pretty awful. Why would you say something like that?

  • if it was russia they would either try to go through it or blow it up

  • Plenty of room, I learned how to fly out of an airport with a few hills and a runway that was just 1800 feet long. Just take a good stable approach and a little bit of skill, guys who learn and Emery Riddle or UND would have a problem I guess.

  • Haterz gonna hate ._.

  • mind your heads! 0:40

  • 0:24 busiest airport in the world :P

  • I'm thinking he was taxiing down that hill! ;)

  • Soviin et republic planes pilot you

  • that music is always enjoyable :)

  • in soviet Russia, the runway comes to the plane

  • passengers need to brace for these landings

  • if theres a slight problem with anything blow it up, its the american way, ps your country has only 5 minutes of history thats why you all act like 7 year olds

  • @565073 : HELL yes "BLOW IT UP"! MMMMM K. It least cut it down to make the approach safer. Life is worth much more that that damn hill. As for the French: Kiss my Red White and Blue AZZ!

  • Ok you know there's a problem when busses have to stop for flying airplanes

  • awesome

  • i like the music :D

  • dammit! he almost hit the hill on the first landing! xD

  • 0:40 what a fucking great pilot

  • Why not land from the other side

  • ive been a passenger on these flights its a little hairy but exhilirating

  • i dont see what the big stink is about this approach, i could do it easily in my R44 :) noobs

  • @22640cal I hope everyone that saw that knows that an R44 is a helicopter.

  • @TheAviator789 For the sake of humanity, let's hope so ! :)

  • I think too highly of myself because I oppose rediculous statements like the one you made? Well based on the mindless brainfart you typed, I have every right to think at least more of myself than you. You obviously lack a sense of culture and education, get out a bit more and read something. There are other means to an end that don't involve cut down a hill the link with the French is beyond me anyhow next to the simple fact it's a matter of skill in flying, there are alot more dangerous things.

  • Americans are a walking and talking cliché. It's because of comments like "bulldoze the hill" and "oh yes it belongs to the french, thats why..." people hate americans, you lot have a god complex and think you are alone on the world. I'm actually pretty sure you people would have shot it to pieces and claimed it if there would be oil there. The more refined people on planet earth give a damn about beauty, integrity, nature. They think of this landing as an art, not as an obstacle.

  • @esdenaze And most importantly culture, which embodies all of these factors.

  • @esdenaze

    What's a lot?

  • @esdenaze

    lolumad?

  • @esdenaze L I think you think too highly of yourself.

  • @esdenaze Every major power has had a turn at being the arsehole of the decade or century. Your view of Americans is really quite silly, America is a big place. I find some French insufferable (I worked there for quite some time) but would I condemn the whole country? Another thing that is amazing is that a lot of people seem to think that Americans can simply ring up their government and tell them to stop behaving like damned fools. Try giving your President a call and some advice.

  • @schlusselmensch Sure people in general can be irritating at times, but I feel like only an american would say something as 'why did they not bulldoze the hill' and you may say that I'm generalising the american people (which I am) but this view -how general it may be (exceptions confirm the standard) - is shared by alot of people. And I apologize to any american that does not think like this.

  • @esdenaze we're not all that bad...I'm a pilot and I would love to fly in there one day...we're not all that bad

  • Comment removed

  • @esdenaze Have you EVER met a regular American? I am not talking about Americans you see displayed allover the media, I am talking about an everyday one! I suggest meeting one before instantly assuming every single American is ignorant and foolish. Plus, all of those comments were just jokes.

  • @esdenaze I'm american and I don't have a god complex.

  • @esdenaze I am an American and I agree with you 100%. We are an ignorant and arrogant people

  • @esdenaze Dude, get off your high horse. Tryin to talk down on us on youtube isnt gonna solve anything. But yeah people hate us, screw em, A LOT more people adore us because we give away more money and aid than any other country in the world.I don't think were alone in this world, I just think were surrounded by a lot of hypocritical ingrates who love to point our flaws like its a hobby of theirs...freaks.

Yes, Im American, I love art, nature, flying, and yes I would love to fly this approach.

  • @Supremist77 Although irrelevant, I would like to point out the misconception about usa and humanitarian aid. Sure the us gives alot of aid as a country, because it is so massive; but when you look at it in terms of per capita the us is actually lagging behind alot and it is the scandinavian countries who rank first. The usa actually doesn't give that much if you look at the % when you compare it to the GDP. And if you would do the effort you would have read that I wanted to nuance my statement.

  • @esdenaze

I don't think those in need of humanitarian aid cares if the amount given by one country is less "per Capita" than some other country. I think they care more about the Actual amount! And America DOES GIVE MORE.

Not only do we give more but we are often first on the scene with our Military in disaster relief efforts as seen all over the world.

I myself have taken part many times in Disaster relief efforts during my time in the US Navy.

Too many idiots just love to hate the USA.

  • @Cg23sailor Could be true, but there is no need to brag about it either because the US could give a multitude of the amount that they give now without being hurt, just like other countries do that have a marginal size compared to the USA. And when you say we are often first on the scene with out military, do you honestly think that is out of charity? It's all about foreign policy and also about the fact that US economy thrives on military action. But like you say good for those in need.

  • @esdenaze About the things to do with america and their lust for oil, aren't the americans helping Libya at the moment? I also noticed something quite funny about these wars too, whenever america or britain get's sent to wage war in another country, the one thing I alwasy notice pop up in the news........is the place has large oil supplies!! It's disgraceful to know that both governments have no compassion about the people, all they care about is oil :-/ This world needs better leaders

  • @strifey07 I could have a debate about that but it would be useless to sum it up in 460 char. Regardless of the fact that no country just does something good just for the sake of doing good, there is also a little concept called sovereignty. The topic of Libya is a totally different context than for instance Iraq where no mandate from the un or nato whatsoever was given to the usa nor the uk. About judging a government: usa has death pentalty?! and tortured people (secret flights/guantanamo)

  • @strifey07 Now that I'm talking about the lack of right of the usa to judge a certain country in the way it operates, I might as well mention a couple of other things:vietnam, gulf of tonkin, hiroshima & nagazaki, and a bit further back in time: the killing of tons of african americans and native americans. Don't portray the usa as some form of altruistic angel, because it's not; a couple of days ago I saw a russian video where americans said things like what a retarded and dumb alfabet,i mean...

  • @esdenaze The more "refined" people in this case would certainly not include you. What sort of enlightened individual would lump a group of 300,000,000 into one stereotype? Certainly not a person of intelligence. St. Bart's is a dangerous approach, even moreso when you approach from the water as there isn't a go around.

Claim it to be "art" all you like, it's still a dangerous and restrictive approach, thus an obstacle.

  • @MiG21bisFishbedL If you would maybe have played less games, *some* sort of eduction would've taught you to look further than what initially hits you in the face. You then, would've learned that I already attenuated my thesis. But the fact that you neglected to make this effort leaves me with nothing more than to conclude you are not worth a decent discussion, other than my previous statement.

  • @esdenaze Only thing worse than an ugly American is a stupid, spineless European cunt that goes out of his way to make such comments because he knows he's the shallow product of an equally shallow society.

And really? Beauty and nature? It's a fucking dirt hill, you cunt. It's especially funny you'd make this claim when the sparkling beautiful waters of the Caribbean are on the other side.

Thank you for fucking ruining Europe you spineless twit.

  • @DaScatman You are from Hungary, congrats, u just insulted your own region.Or is this hate fuelled by being the by-product of a failed communist ideology and therefore doomed to be one of Europe's weakest links?Calling this a dirt hill, is the result of a very shallow view of the world around you and merely your perspective.1 could say that everything should be turned into tarmac because it's most pragmatic but ppl like you don't encompass the necessary intellectual capacity to look beyond that.

  • Lukla is worse because fog 2000 feet drop before runway 5m runway hill at end of runway Lukla is the worlds worst

  • Why do you want to get rid of the hill? Its part of the island, people have no right to go blow shit up thats been around for thousands of years.

  • Why they do not buldoze it? First off all it is more fun lie that and secondly French and local pilots actualy do got guts. (Obviously the occasionaly scatter them around a cockpit after a failed landing attemped, but that is another matter hehe)

  • Good god, it's worse than San Diego.

  • that was a VERY risky approach!

why go THAT close to the hill

you made an already dangerous approach even more dangerous!

btw i wouldnt call that the best approach when you touched down it was only with your right wheel because you were still turning

  • @TheFsReview it is the only way to be able to use the runway, and it was a great landing, the pilot was not turning, that is called the "wing down method", it is used to land aircraft in a crosswind, the pilot uses the rudder to keep the nose aligned with the runway, and then drops a wing into the wing to stop it from being pushed off the runway. (I'm a real student pilot)

  • @hotpilotboy20 its called forward slide method its used to lose altitude with out increasing airspeed and cannot be used with full flaps to avoid damage

    (im an real pilot )

  • @stealhty1 I know what a side-slip is, the pilot in the vid approaches straight, then slips the aircraft as it approaches the flare, so it's to counter the crosswind (look at the windsock), and yes, it would increase drag as well.

  • Holy crap!!! What an approach!!!

  • Love the traffic circle (roundabout) on the hill. What an environment for entertainment and mishap! :-)

  • The landing was guud. Would have been tits had it been on centerline.

  • why not coming in from the other side ?^^

  • @4rgp I think it was because the wind. If you pause around 0:30 you can see the wind direction.

  • @uri0316 oh ok thx :)

  • the only reason they built it was for people to make cool flight simulator videos :P

  • What is the name of this song?

  • lol i like that music

  • You're right, we would!

  • only the french would decide to build an airport here

  • That's exactly why you have no history lol!

  • Thanks to post this. I was airline pilot flying to St Bart from Guadeloupe 3 times a week or more. Yes, it ' s easier now , hill was a little higher in 1975, rent cars had no radio antennas, because tourists used to park on the road in final leg. And we used to fly above cars at an antenna altitude above roof on short final. In fact , that was what passengers have paid for: sensations !

  • They've lowered the hill quite a bit already and about 12 years ago a Twin Otter crashed into the house that was on the hill killing about 20 people.

  • i really feel like bringing a football with me there and lobbing it when the plane comes in :D

  • very dumb idea... a tourist did that in st. maarten and spent the night in jail. imagine you hit the prop and kill a dozen people.

  • that would be incredibly stupid on your part.

and they would certainly Find you, and you'd

become someone's whore bitch, in prison.

still wanna toss a football into the path of an

aircraft with human lives on board?

    didn't think so, moron.

    go play your X-Box Ok?

  • @drumdude46

    hey,

you think people are that ignorant and stupid to do that and risk themselves and people onboard? if you do, you are stupid and ignorant, how the hell could you take my comment seriusly? plus, no its not a xbox, i dont play that crap.

  • no way. thats what makes it fun. i wanna land there!

  • You cant 'cut' a hill down. Besides, that's too big of a hill to be demolished, it would just mess up the whole terrain.

  • @Mazza4Azza: What are you talking about? Of course they could cut the hill down. They do it all the time when building roads through mountains. It may not be pleasing to the eye but it could save lives. No reason to take it to sea level but reducing it would make this place much safer. Just my humble opinion.

  • @ljackso It is a perfectly safe approach procedure as long you fly the right aircraft (Do-228, Twotter, Islander) with pilots how know what they are doing, just like American Airlines flying into Toncontin with B757.

  • @ljackso top gear style :D

  • @ljackso top gear style of speech

  • @ljackso actually its in the caribbean and its my neighbour island and st.barths with belongs to guadeloupe, they are french but not from france

  • @ljackso With out the hill there no poin of the thrill in going there

  • @arby321 : Which is more important, a thrill or Life? There are many ways at getting a 'thrill' while not putting your, and everyone's, life at risk.

  • @ljackso yeah. they're too gay to do anything about it

  • @ljackso oh im sorry, i forgot that killing and destructing is the american answer to everything

  • I wanna stand on that hill!!!!!!!! :P

  • @yscb1 : Me too....but over to one side! :-)

  • hei,

this is the other airport of the island saint marteen? near to SXM airport?

  • Nope. Different island.

  • @GRUsbgr

it is near to TNCM (st maarten) but on a different island....TNCM is on the dutch side of the islands whereas st barts is on the french side

  • Great place to shoot touch and goes ;)

  • triky indeed

  • @Flatwheels01 the runway its too short to land with tail wind. Almost always the wind comes from east, that is why always use runway 10. ;-)

  • can they not land from the other side?

  • if they had to abort the landing close to the runway it would be very tough to clear that hill.

  • Sounds fair enough...better end up in the water than in a hill, lol.

  • In America, we would just bulldoze that hill out of the way.

  • What would bee the point of that, this airport is loved for its tricky aproach, and americans would do that because there all lazy pilots.

  • The hill has no business being there right in front of the runway.

    So out comes the bulldozer.

  • indeed! especially those american pilots who miss their destination for more than 240kms. great job!

  • Haha that comment made me LOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • @flanksteak1 cuz we are not all twats.

  • @Ganjamule Are you sure about that?

  • @flanksteak1 America the land of the slaves. The black pope runs the world, duh. Research "chemtrails" and "no plane theory"

  • @flanksteak1 how about dinamite then bulldoze the heck out of the way

  • @flanksteak1 It's the american way!

  • @flanksteak1 Yeah really, fuck that dive on short final haha.

  • @flanksteak1

    hell yeah

  • @flanksteak1 Remember the French are functionally retarted.

  • @flanksteak1 na, we would use explosives :)

  • In England...our standard ritual is tea, biscuits and an old chin wag before WE land...

  • @flanksteak1 Lol damn right:P

  • Why is the English national anthem played on a video with a French island?

  • That's not the English national anthem!

  • Great job. Good skill

  • y u show 2 diff. planes?

  • It's a keyboard, it's not that hard to type full words and use proper English.

  • Great vid.

  • make sure your wheels dont take the top off a car...lol

  • Scary but cool

  • he came in very low

  • no but in a french island!

  • Is St barth in france??

  • its in the french west

  • St. Barth is an island in the Caribbean. Nowhere near France, its just French territory.

  • It's a Frech island

  • Near St. Marteen. Like off the coast of South America.

  • awesome at 0.46 !

  • Wow that must be hard to land there in real life! I cant do it on FS2004!

  • i do it in a cessna

  • What song be this?

  • 马赛曲

  • dude youre not as good as u think

  • OMG pause it at 0:46. wat a skilled pilot =D
