what if Oedipus's brother in law paid these people to say those things so he could not only gert rid of Oedipus but also of any claim his children have to the throne? lol
Thanks a bunch for the upload, I can't believe I finished. Although it beats reading the book; definitely made my college English class a lot easier(:
I could of been out drinking, but I took an arrow to the knee with this assignment-__-
lolz Is it ok if I just watched this instead of reading the playwright? I have to write a research paper 12000-15000 words max about it AND it's basically the same as the play, only it's worded slightly different.. I read the play a very long time ago and just found reading it such a bore. Even though it's beautifully written and very interesting I'm not one for reading often. So I wanna know will I be ok? Hope so.
It is certainly true: No matter how much fun and revealing reading maybe but plays had to be performed! Though the image quality is not so good I would rather watch ten good plays in bad quality than one bad play in good quality! There should be a law constraining that bad plays, movies or music has to be made in bad quality as well. And shame that so few of the plays of Sophocles did survive malignant time; the old Greek poets would even shake the throne of Shakespeare else!
@GreatGrumbledook You are so right, you have to see a play performed! When Shakespeare guy gets going he's pretty good! And to be honest, I would rather watch a bad play than half the rubbish at the cinema!
@MackerelCat: While I thank you for your enthusiasm about my humble comment! Apropos Shakespeare: Have you seen the Henry V version made by Kenneth Branagh, the Julius Caesar version with Marlon Brando as Marx Antony and of course the BBC version of Coriolanus with Monsieur Alan Howard as the renegade Roman noble? But I have to say that I totally hate it, when theatrical classics are ruined by stupid modern performances! I could commit bloody murder when I see this!
Waitress: ...or lobster thermador ecrovets with a bournaise sause, served in the purple salm Mr. Bunor with chalots and overshies, garnished with truffle pate, brandy, a fried egg on top and spam.
Waitress: Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Bloody Vikings. You can't have egg, bacon, spam and sausage without the spam.
Mrs. Bun: I don't like spam!
Mr. Bun: Shh dear, don't cause a fuss. I'll have your spam. I love it. I'm having spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans, spam, spam, spam and spam.
Vikings: Lovely spam, wonderful spam... etc
Waitress: Shut up! Baked beans are off.
Mr. Bun: Well, can I have her spam instead of the baked beans?

Congratz to those brave 10% who went through such boredom just for a better grade. You shall be rewarded properly.

@corradi3 I didn't come here for a grade. I came here because these are good actors doing a good production of a good play :)

@alonmerlin there's too much coincidence. A lot of things only Oedipus knew. Only a true story to make her mother commit suicide.

I'm surprised how many people are here because of college. I read this play when I was a freshman in high school.

Mr. Bun: Morning.
Waitress: Morning.
Mr. Bun: Well, what you got?
Waitress: Well, there's egg and bacon; egg, sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg, bacon and spam; egg, bacon, sausage and spam; spam, bacon, sausage and spam; spam, egg, spam, spam, bacon and spam; spam, sausage, spam, spam, spam, bacon, spam, tomato and spam; spam, spam, spam, egg and spam...

Waitress: Well, there's spam, egg, sausage and spam. That's not got much spam in it.

Mr. Bun: Why can't she have egg, bacon, spam and sausage?
Mrs. Bun: That's got spam in it.
Mr. Bun: It hasn't got as much spam in it as spam, egg, sausage and spam has it?
Mrs. Bun: Could you do me egg, bacon, spam and sausage without the spam then?
