i hear cars in the near background. bad news as thrashers don't last long when people put in roads. looks like they won't stop till the use it all up unless someone/something stops them first. haven't heard my thrashers in a few weeks, am afraid one of the roaming dogs, cats, or other predatories got. the unusual amount of snow this year could also be it. hope maybe they're quiet because they're sitting on eggs to keep em warm
was just listening to my thrasher sing. yesterday there was two singing. so many songs, more than the beatles or dylan even. what a joyus sound. i think they're some of the best singers i ever hear. phainopepla called me yesterday. that's a treat too, another special bird with black hair and red eyes, just like me ha ha
Sounds as though you are very familiar with this cheerful bird! I really enjoy listening to them sing but have not seen as much as you. Thanks for your comment.
excellent. thanks for posting this. the thrasher is my favorite singer and such an unusual bird, so precious to have around, so shy and funny. but if you sit still...have recorded the thrasher for years, their morning chirps and mimics, their mating inncesentry, alarm calls, etc. so varied. their morning yawn is like a cat.
i just shot 1 and killed it
