  • New civics are fucking disgusting. I can't believe the fucked up the design so much.

  • Just a normal Sunday cruise.... I love Vtec

  • @doobiedoobieify top gear reviewed the european civic type r...this is the JDM type r, way better than the euro one.

  • I like the performance and all. But I'm not digging the sedan look. Doesn't look sporty enough for me. Put that engine in the 07 pluss si coupes body with the factory body kit dropped three inches and I'll take one lol

  • @UnderlyingTruth333 coupes are uglyyy ddawgg, thats why they only have em in the US ahaha, sedans are madd legit shitt even the european hatchyys are better than those ugly coupesss

  • @crackstah5150 lol you just pretty much called like 95% of all supercars ugly as well as many other sexy coupes like the m3, all gtr's(ever), and the merc sls gulwing just to name a few dumbasshole

  • @sevan11 I Was Talking About The Civic Coupes Smartt Oneeeee Not All Coupess, It Was Probably My Fault Though I Didnt make clearrrrr.....

  • This thing is challenging my Trans Am... I can tell.

  • they dont think that would sell in usa? they just hate america.

  • christ, it sounds like a honda bike

  • honda civic is a track car . no need for turbo . the vtech is good enough :D

besides turbo has lag for this car

  • Just wanted to let every1 know about this awesome Honda website JDMCivic, net . its pretty coo, check it out! #OMG

  • It's not THAT fast.. but it's not to shabby for a Civic.. ,@farid2258 i have no idea what you're saying man.. Speak english. @RavingLobsters, what if he was poor? not everybody can drive a nice M3 Turbo like mine, but then again, i think that that's a middle class car and nothing special.. now an Audi R8.. there's a racer for yah.. like i said.. for a Civic, this isn't to bad of a deal. plus why are you watching video's of Type R Civics anyway if you're going to criticize people's dreams on it.

  • @jwh1986c heyyy :O i drive an M3 and its not middle class -.-

  • this, the nsx and the s2000 are the power of dreams, not a cr-z hybrid

  • at least malaysia gets this version.

  • My dream car.power of dream

  • @farid2258 wow your dreams are fucked, you must be poor to have this as a car of your dreams.

  • @RavingLobsters easy 2 u say it.What the FUCKING u are dont know about me to say it.

  • @farid2258 learn english.... may be thats the reason that car is in your dreams..... You don't even have a proper education.

  • where is this track?

  • @softtoyboy3 Paul Ricard in France(Le Mans testing ground)

  • sickness

  • k20z not a

  • i don't get why people rice out their civics Si's or Type R's. The car is brilliant straight out of the factory.

  • before u take care of the car you should spend more time on how to take care of ur country s president plane

  • why doesnt honda make a turbo car they would make the sickest turbos

  • @bustedpiggybank because their niche is non-turbo, lightweight cars, that run on v-tec engines. If you want a turbo honda, go aftermarket.

  • grand prix 4 life =]

  • @ tshbuddahead

That is the smartest thing anyone has ever said. It would have to be a real awd system though.

  • If Honda continued to make the Civic Type R and the Civic Si, but made them all-wheel-drive, and keep it at the same price, they would get way more buyers

  • If Honda continued to make the Civic Type R and the Civic Si, but made them all-wheel-drive, they would get way more buyers

  • Fuck you Stalker Sasquach... for your information.. I used to own a honda civic... it was NOT rice. and I'm still a fan of hondas. but I have UPGRADED to a 2009 Subie WRX with 265 Horse STOCK.... and believe me, its not rice... so now that you know this, why dont YOU go back to YOUR hillbilly Ricer friends. FF is useless when it comes to any performance situation. and IMO any car can use More power

  • Needs All wheel drive and more power...

  • @lilhusla149 ur fuckin retarded, putting all-wheel drive on a honda is stupid. Go to ur ricer friends.

  • nice car but it still FF ... i will go for sti if i had to choose

  • im disappointed in the new type r. the old ep3 was faster on the track then the new one is. they took away from the over all idea of the type r.

stop babying the type r honda.

  • @xbartosx Seriously though would pick an EP3 over the FD2 or even the FN2? putting the FD2 aside, i'd pick the EK9 out of CTR's

  • This civic truly is a masterpiece of engineering!!! From all civic type-r's the EK9 and FD2 really are the top of the range of Honda's well balanced, civic chassis. Compared to the EP3 and FN2, EK9's really stand out of the crowd, but I must truly say that Honda have really have done it this time! Well done Honda!!

  • @sosu88 You know your stuff, about time someone said something useful!!

  • Stop arguing. It's Boring.

  • I have the helmet, gloves and shoes but I only have a 09 FA5 sedan.

The Japanese love to tease the GAIJINs

  • why dont they make these civics have and AWD option..then they would have a chance to keep up with evos's and wrx's....a chance..at least give them the platform then buy a aftermarket turbo kit and make it handle good and you got compettion for a evo and wrx

  • i thought i was a video game at first, but when the dude was shifting gears, i was like, "oh"...lol.

  • how can you say honda's are not fast when the civic type R does 0-60 in under 7 sec

  • Honda one day, Honda forever... I'm only 19, 1st : EG4 2nd : EJ2 3rd : ED9 4th : MB6..... :p

Honda THE POWER OF DREAMS !!!!

  • Here Comes The Honda !!!!

I Love Honda.. The Power of Dreams..

  • the vid info was educating, thak you!its a shame that this car was never(as many other jap models)in greece.fuck eudm i prefer jdm all tha way!!!!

  • What track is this?

  • why do we get the ugly civics and they get nice civics ?? WHYY xD

  • I can Get you the complete FD2 R conversion. Let me know! All you need is the type R motor now =)

  • I can get you the complete FD2 conversion. Its the real straight from japan. all u will need is the type R motor now.. A lot of catching up.

  • I can get you the complete FD2 conversion. Its the real straight from japan. all u will need is the type R motor now.. A lot of catching up.

  • @NicolinoOh It's cuz it would cost a hell of a lot more.

  • @NicolinoOh , Best part is , We get both shapes :P

  • @NicolinoOh

more exclusivity for the jap market >< GRRR.

  • @NicolinoOh cause we are the choosen one xD LOL

  • @NicolinoOh two dates august 6, 1945 and august 9, 1945

  • Type R

means beating your piece of crap domestic on a race track, reliability, resale value, and quality.

The whole point of i-VTEC DOHC and DOHC VTEC is to create as much power by keeping the engine normal aspirated, (just like BMW ///M and Ferrari's philosophy). It would be unethical for Honda to turbocharge their engines with 10-11-12.1 compression ratios.

The tuning is up to YOU.

  • Reliability? I know a few guys who work for various Honda service depatments and they wouldn't be doing as well if it weren't for Honda's :reliability"

You're right, high compression, wild camshafts and wild cam timing to create very high revs, but very low torque.

  • Actually torque is relevant to displacement. Small displacement = "low torque". However, if you look at a DOHC VTEC or even better a DOHC i-VTEC powered car that has dyno information the torque curve is surprisingly flat all across the rev range with 90% of it available by 2000rpm. Of course with smaller displacement and higher revs, peak torque is delivered at a higher RPM vs a larger displacement, lower revving engine.

  • Torque is relative to cylinder pressure and connecting rod angle and stroke. NOt displacement. There's a few 2L mills out there making well over the 160 foot pounds of torque this v-tec engine makes.

  • I never said there weren't other elements or details that could have an effect on torque production. With that said, the items you mentioned as well as DISPLACEMENT play a factor. I'm sure there are others.

  • Please list those non Honda engines AND compare the available power and torque under the curve. People consistently say that "Honda's don't make torque" yet in the majority of Honda engines, 90% of torque is available by 2K rpm and the torque curve is decently flat across the rev range.

  • Audi 2l T found in the A3 200 hp 207 lbs

    Vw 1.9l tdi 110 hp 177 lbs

    Vw 2l tdi 140 hp 236 lbs

DSM 2l turbos produce well over 180 lbs. - with 20 years ago's technology

Recently Mecedes introduced a diesel 2.1 L producing 204 hp and 368 lbs of torque.

European model bmw 5 series 2l - 177 hp with 258 lbs of torque.

Ford's soon to be released eco boost 2L will make at least 230 hp and 240 lbs of torque according to Ford's webpage.

See honda boy, It's all about cylinder pressure

  • Everything you listed was TURBOCHARGED! Of course they have more torque as all but 1 were equal in displacement to the n/a Honda yet had boost. When I asked you for the list I was hoping you could list NORMALLY ASPIRATED engines that were comparable.

  • You said it takes displacement to make torque. Clearly, it doesn't. My point has been made.

  • I said displacement is relevant to torque yet I was clearly speaking of naturally aspirated engines as the K20 is naturally aspirated. With that said, your POINT is invalid. N/A vs a similar displacement forced induction engine is a whole different subject. The funny thing is I still find the "torqueless" Honda engine more entertaining and engaging. Question: If those engines you listed had a half liter more displacement, would they make more or less torque? My point has been made.

  • When horsepower and torque are the basis of the conversation, it's about untimate engine output. If you like racing with low torque naturally aspirated engines, be my guest and choke on my exhaust.

If you find these engines more "engaging" good for you. Trust me, more power is always more fun. It's safer for you to drive your honda, speed kills you know.

To answer your question, it's still about cylinder pressure. It would likely make more torque due to more cylinder pressure. It's simple.

  • If you dont like hondas don't watch the video.

  • @turbolover I love honda

  • @turbolover

The thing is, I DO like hondas. But not when people pretend they're race cars.

They're good on fuel and that's about it. Not powerhouses, not racecars.

  • @filthydirtyhooker Obviously u r a car idiot. the thing is i dont hate idiots, but i hate when idiot pretend to be pro. Wut's ur defination of race cars? Type R for Racing, specifically design. Retarded.

  • @filthydirtyhooker i cud easily thrash ur Audi with a type R in a professional circuit. Mercedes? Come on.. haha

  • @filthydirtyhooker <- i bet this retard is sent by another company to diss off honda haha.. funny shit. Yet he has no idea of wut he's talking about. Lets just ignore him. :] a hooker who is a hater.. how sad is his life :D compassion

  • @Bugz0013

You have taken far too many stupid pills today, junior. For starters, do you really think car companies are using youtube to advertise or slam other companies? If so, did I mention what car company I may be representing? lol

I actually mentioned that I like Honda, so you're just retarded.

Type-r is marketing, plain and simple.

Your car can thrash an Audi in a pro curcuit? I guess we'll have to get together some time to prove that. In the mentime, go fuck your hat.

  • @filthydirtyhooker Sigh.. it's okay hater. go fuck urself. Hooker shudnt be here :]

anyway, it's not da car, it's da driver, as some retard doesnt even know an evo-6 can outrun ferrari or lamborg also as their lap time is just a few split secs, officially tested, dun hook me XD.

  • @filthydirtyhooker haha, i cant stop laughing. U really think i wud presume a retard as a company agent, come on, use ur brain, obviously i am Mocking at u, why u cant even interpret such simple msg, ur brain is really fcked up :[ sad, take care dude XD

  • @filthydirtyhooker Anyway, the design of Type R models was originally focused on race conditions, with an emphasis on minimizing weight, and maximizing performance potential. NSX Type R is the 1st type R ever produced, obviously "R" is not tagged just for marketing :D

  • @Bugz0013 When they put type r stickers on a civic or an intergra, it becomes marketing. They don't have the goods to be track ready.

you really think 180hp and 130 trq is a race car? Hahahaha You suck at life.

  • due to Honda's increased focus on their highly regarded VTEC engines, the Type R was eventually designed for a much wider market.

    u r really a sad fuck :]

  • @Bugz0013 Oh Christ, this is funny! I can tell exactly where you're copying and pasting from another site because your English improves tremendously. LOL

You don;t have a single thought of your own, and must copy others. What did you use? wiki? HAHAHA Brilliant. You're parents must be so proud.

  • @filthydirtyhooker Like i said, u cant even say anything constructive. How old r u? 12? or a retard, oopz. im sorry for ur parents :] improves or improved? i dun find ur english any better, sad fuck :D Anyway, it's good to hv originality, but it's retard to make up story :] Since the info is provided worldwide, why do i hv to type it again? Oops, im sorry again, i forgot ur brain is fcked up :] None of ur context is relevant to my comments, why hv to embarass urself again?

  • @filthydirtyhooker English is not my mother tounge, and i dun really gv a shit whether it's good or not, but i dun really find the english i copied from another site is really that profound, i doubt ur standard, god bless u :] Thx for ur compliment anyway, but it's not really that brilliant for allocating info, it's just a common sense, maybe u cudnt do that? :[ sad. Retard remains retard.

  • The Civic Type R models were preceded by the 1990-1991 EF8 CRX SiR and the 1992-1995 EG6 SiR-II. The EF8 and EF9 featured the B16A engine introducing Honda's DOHC VTEC technology in the compact car segment. Fitted with an optional LSD, and with a stripped out interior devoid of optional luxuries such as power windows, A/C and power steering, they proved to be quite a quick hatch.

  • Fitted with an optional LSD, and with a stripped out interior devoid of optional luxuries such as power windows, A/C and power steering, they proved to be quite a quick hatch. This inaugural top-of-the range Civic marked Honda's successes in Formula One, with multiple Constructor's Championships with the Marlboro McLaren team.

  • The latter EG6 SiR-II used the same stripped out formula, with a 10 hp (7 kW) hike for the B16A engine and a marginally stiffer chassis, this time in a larger heavier body shell. The 1998 EK9 Civic was the first to be given the Type R badge.

  • It featured a Type R prepared B16B engine producing 185 PS (182 hp), Helical LSD, stiffer chassis, upgraded sway bars and strut bars, Recaro alcantara seats, 15" alloy wheels and a large boot spoiler. Since then, most generations have offered a Type R variant.

  • The Type R version of the Civic has never been sold in the outside of Japan until the introduction of the 2nd generation chassis. Anyway, i only have a Evo-Vi, sad, the fact is u r still a pathethic hooker. Say something constructive, instead of compared HP and keep yelling "it's not a race car! not a race car!!" like a retard. wut's ur definition of race car? Tagged a "type R" doesnt help marketing at all since it's not da original civic, damn u got zero knowledge about business marketing.

  • It was 1st at all designed for racing, taken against other race cars in a racing competition on a professional circuit, tats how we define "Race car" retard. If u only wan a higher hp or tq, go buy a fucking truck, c whether if u will outrun a mini cooper, brainless fck.

  • i can c how desperate u r from u name, i bet u really suck at life, anyway, god bless u o0o :]

  • @filthydirtyhooker Not wanting to get into a big argument but the 'Type R' is a more focused car than say..a Golf GTi. I don't think anyone could say it was an out and out racing car but not many hot hatches have quite so much effort put into them- (at least before the FN2!) lightened and strengthed bodyshell, lightened clutch and flywheel, independent suspension all around, a six speed gearbox with ratio's set for performance NOT economy. But yeah, it's a hot hatch not a race car.

  • I'm talking about the Euro spec models BTW. These JDM versions are far more hardcore and capable of taking on cars with much more HP on the track.

  • Type R

    r for RUBISH

  • Well said. Funny that you mention BMW ///M and Ferrari as Honda's own performance strategies are in parallel with both to varying degrees based on price point. All 3 companies are very similar with their high performance offerings in overall character and execution. The main difference is that Honda focuses on the bottom, BMW ///M focuses on the middle and Ferrari is on the top end of the performance ladder.

  • i dont think they have these type r s in the states now do they? and there is a major difference between the si and the type r buddy

  • majorr diff buddy...MAJOR..thousands of dollars diff..

  • I imagine if they put a turbo this car....... that would be badass

  • @mrlovesjesus811 naaah man leave turbo to iron blocks man, honda is perfect the way they are

  • @ooJDMoo I agree with you somewhat but on a car like this, that has a rev range like this motor does, not a real big turbo but just a medium turbo to give it a good low to medium torque curve and a moderately good top end like around 350 to 450 hp.

  • @ooJDMoo

    totaly agree!

  • @mrlovesjesus811 its more badass without a turbo lol

  • @mrlovesjesus811

Turbo would be badass? It wouldn't be that great other than in a straight line beyond like 70mph unless you were running slick tyres. Badass for pub talk but pretty shite for a true wheel man trying to drive hard on track!

  • is it possible to buy it in japan and drive it back to the us?? serious question

  • lmfao can you drive on water?

  • um no dont think so lol dam

  • If we hit another ice age maybe. ;-)

  • no, japan is an island

  • well lets see, considering that japan is surrounded by water and america is very far away from japan, you cant drive it back to america but you can buy it and ship it to america.

  • It's only right hand drive

  • Well, Maybe You Can Get a Good Straight away on a Local Beach in Japan, then Hit Vtec, HopeFully You can get through the sand without losing Speed, And HopeFully You Skim across the water If you stay in VTEC, And hopefully this economic car saves gas in VTEC aand gets you here. Serious answer

  • of course.. it's all about tax.. u have the money then go for it..

  • there's no road from japan to us

  • u can import it not drive it TO the us lol

  • how would go about that because i want to do that

  • yes you can

  • r u gonna drive it in the water?

  • the type r looks a bit different from the new civic si

  • noting says race car like high rpms

  • i would buy this if t came to america i thinks its prfect.

  • that pretty much jus awesome, coming from a domestic guy

  • how fast can this Honda lap the nurburgring.

  • hmm...not so good. except for its exterior.

many of this civic type r in my country.....same exterior. cant believe it.!

  • loving it

  • бля, белые диски -зачет!!!

  • Mitsubishi lancer + acura nsx = this car

  • werd

  • awd + rwd = fwd?

    not word

  • Where'd you get the NSX part from? I can see how it looks like a smoother EVO with the wing and all.

  • nice looking sedan

  • nice porno background music.

  • hahaha

  • omg lmao dat made my day lolz

  • Comment removed

  • i want this motor on my 95 eg hatch. check out my current hatch people,,,

  • Engine: 2.0 i-VTEC

    Power: 225 HP @ 8000 rpm

    Torque: 215 Nm @ 6100 rpm

    0-100 km/h: 6,0 sec

    Top speed: 241 km/h

    Gearbox: 6-Speed MT

    Weight: 1270 kg

6,0 sec, the fastets Type-R so far, not mentioning the NA2 NSX Type-R (0-100 km/h: 4,4 sec haha Hondas own)

fn2 is just a granturismo for europe..:(

  • niceeeee

  • and a HUGE wing

  • lmao yea fucking airplane

  • so it's basically an acura csx with a type r engine...

  • and a fine tuned track suspension....with serious tuning...

  • This is the best honda civic type-r ever built.i like the aerofoil design of this civic type-r and the vtec engine.vtec engine save more fuel and produce more horsepower than ordinary petrol engine.

  • honda's are growing up thats all

  • FN2 is the worst Type R to ever have the badge

  • real type-r is a EK9 or EP3... ??

fd2 is the new benchmark type r

    probably quicker than an dc5

  • real type-r is a EK9 or EP3...

  • Hey ignorant f*g, FN2 is build on a JAZZ chassis

  • The jazz chassis is actually superior to the EP-3 chassis. have you seen vtec club when they visit the spoon factory? they talk about the low weight and high stiffness of the jazz chassis, that it's ideal for touring car racing!

  • everyone knows FN2 is a dumb shit :D
