They still sell out concerts and I catch them when I can. Lots of people don't like Bono because no one likes to hear about poverty. They use their celebrity status in a positive way to try and draw attention to the less fortunate. They could do a lot worse be drunks who don't care like so many.

U2 are awesome in concert, I saw them in 92/93 I think at Wembley Stadium in london, they had a live satellite linkup with students in Sarajevo, who explained to 80,000 U2 fans how what was going on in Bosnia was Genocide, and that NATO had to get off its ass and stop the war, which they did months later. Later on in the same concert, the author Salman Rushdie was brought on stage, at the height of his 'fatwah' troubles. Support for this concert was supplied by Mick Jones and Big Audio Dynamite.

U2 just rocks. this great. i loved when they videos like this. it just seemed to fit them. like just having them performing. no extra stuff. just them rolling the camrea the coming up a classic vid like this one. back then they did not to embrace the tech stuff. as yrs went by they started to embrace more of the tech world. and they did fine. i like some of their videos over the past few yrs. tech world is great, hey i'm a geek. for me though - U2 - camera - roll that's it

u2s bass player is simply amazing (like the rest of the band). this guy is sooo underrated its rediculous, he is definatly one of the best. listen to the bass. DO IT !!!

I remember the G n R Metallica tour and how they were supposed to get Nirvana to open back in 93. Best example of that happoning now would be The Police U2 and Coldplay as the opener act. It would even be bigger!!!
It was 1986 it was my earliest memory of this song on the radio and I was in my Sr. yr of HS. My friend Doreen Morrisey introduced me to this band and I've been hooked on U2 ever since. In the Reagan yrs and the Era of Apathy, this is what we needed to hear so that we could feel human again. My hippie teachers breathed a sigh of relief and knew there was still hope.
