Oh yes, that's right. And what a great story that is about how he got it, isn't it.
Don't know who the collector is "who isn't well liked" but it's not Bob-- he has had his 972 for a long time. Note huge after-market replacement bag. Stan's had the original black 700-style bag.
It's such a strange sensation to stand next to these giant vacuum cleaners!

Wow, this is wonderful - finally a decent, high-quality video of a 972 in action! I'm glad to see there's another one out there, now Stan Kann's one's been consigned to the abyss...
Funny how the motor sounds exactly like a Model 700's, when the 700's was made by Hoover and the 972's giant 32-blade version was made by Westinghouse.
It looks to be in beautiful condition too. Maybe one day, I'll have one of my own :(

Stan had a 961 and a 972 - may I refer you to your own interview with him ;)
His all-original 972 was the one he was given by the lady who swapped it for a rare doll! It's been photographed and videoed many times by visitors, in fact there's videos of it here on YouTube.
However, he recently sold it for 'an offer he couldn't refuse' of $2000 to a collector I am not familiar with, but who doesn't seem to be well-liked, judging from people's comments about him.
