Luka is the evil mastermind here. She separated Kaito and Meiko at childhood and erased their memories. Meiko was placed in a containment cell as she became violent and was uncontrollable. Kaito, on the other hand, was trained and raised to be a soldier of the Karakuri Blast Force [made that name up.]. Meiko lost her eye and after that went on a killing spree and escaped. Kaito was sent to kill/apprehend her. However, as they pointed their weapons at each other, their memories returned.

@chibigrunt in the original version, Rin (Meiko here) is an assassin under Miku's (Luka) control. Len (Kaito) is a soldier fighting for peace and obsessed about destroying all the "evil". He is then ordered to kill Rin, but as he sees her he remembers about her being his long lost twin, since they got separated-- as usual! You should check the original version, this one isn't bad (it's the only cover of this song I can really listen to) but Rin and Len are really, really amazing in this song. ♥
