I think what ArenaNet is continuing to do is refreshing & exciting & sticking to what they've been promising to deliver to us: An experience unlike our typical MMOs. ((Why should we be trapped in a medieval fantasy world forever?)) Please, just give it some time before getting upset and I'd encourage folks to not judge the class until they've tried it & more information has been seen. =D (( PS: Thank you all for watching this movie! ))

And ppl should'nt say that handycraft is for non-intelligent guys. Heavy shootz from da big gun. Pyro burns 'em all. And only engineer did machines to do it for him. Same here, some ppl want to rule the battlefield with ancient spells, but mind-control-predicting armour wouldnt save you from hellflame grenade or bullet in yar head. That's where teammate-engineer will be useful

I think such brilliant game as GW2 will NOT allow any unneeded or boring classes. Everybody will find their own path

Because it shares a name with a class in a game of a completely different style and genre? Because we've already seen that GW2 has tech of this level? Because it's 250 years after the Charr started making mines and bombs? You could make a parody like this for the spy with the theif. But that doesn't seem bad to you? He can turn invisible and teleport! Don't you think that sounds more like a superhero than a fantasy character? But you don't care, since it's not tech.

In response to that I could say that you wouldn't use swords, you'd find a magic spell that decapitates.

But really, not everyone in guild wars can or wants to use magic. The people who invent non-magical tech are those people. They're trying to give the people who don't call on a mystical power source to kill people with a flick of the wrist a chance. It's totally logical.

@irurwurst not really think about how much time and effort to make 10 canons then transport them to a battlefield and crews to man them. thats a ton of time and man hours when in gws you could just bring ten eles. its faster cheaper and more powerful

also in our tech world the smartest ppl in world for the most part go into math and science but in a world were magic is the rule like gw they would go into magic

You see they've passed that. they were dealing with slow and heavy cannon tech in GW1. Lots of intelligent people in GW2 go on to do magical things, but many also realise that not everyone will use magic, and like to work more with their hands than a spellbook. Why are you trying to say that no-one wants to invent stuff like that in GW2 when Arenanet has just given us proof that there were people who DID? It's their story, and it would have made sense anyway.
