  • This is sung by my ASL teacher!! :)

  • Beautiful song, wonderful job and certainly touching. Never heard the song until my 17 year old daughter asked me to get her CD. Lauren you are beautiful as well. Mark

  • im taking ASL as my forieghn language at my high school and julie durden is my ASL teacher and shes amazing she believes everyone should except eachothers differences and no one should be "fixed". julie durden is my hero and she has changed the way i view everyone including myself. its very important to her that we all know everyone is perfect because they are different.

  • This song means a lot to me, as my son was diagnosed with a hearing loss at 3 years of age. I had to explain to everyone that he was perfect the way he was. We didn't need to "fix" him. He is now a wonderful, expressive, intelligent, compassionate 17 year old. He is amazing and I am so proud to be his mom!

  • Good job Mrs. Durdan. FYI lauransmusicsign you didnt make up this song durdan did so ha to the ha

  • I love the meaning of the song. I am almost Deaf. Only have about 25%of my hearing left. I should be deaf in about 5 years. at the most

  • this song is amazing and so is the artist. she was my ASL teacher in high school and a group of us signed this song while she say it at a concert.

  • This has always been one of my favorite songs since I first heard it about 3 years ago. I'm glad you took the initiative to sign it.... very nice job!... God Bless you for that.

    keep up the good work

  • WOW! I love ask and signing, but you just signed so beautifully to that song and its an amazing song, your really good i hope to see more of you

  • This was just amazing. I couldn't help but let a few tears out. i've been trying to learn ASL but, haven't found anyone around here or any place around here that teaches it, so i've been trying to learn online. It's not as easy as it seems, that's for sure.

    AMAZING JOB!

  • this song is so beautiful .. it was written by julie durden the best asl teacher ever !

  • Oh my..What an absolutely perfect song. I'd never heard it before and your sign version justs adds so much to the beauty and truth in the words. My little man is 10 and I see people everyday treat him different or feel sorry for him - like he is less than perfect. He is definately the first to make me laugh and the first to see my pain. Thank you for making me cry such wonderful tears of joy and pride for my little man.

  • you have the talent to go on and be a tv interpter

  • Well thank you, jmm1233, but I'm afraid I have A LONG WAY to go to become an interpreter :-) It's one thing to practice signs over and over then put them to music; a whole different ballgame to interpret in real-time. That takes many, many years of schooling and hands-on experience. I would love to someday, though. Thank you for the compliment!

  • Another super beautiful video. I love it. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you, originalpuppysgirl :-)

  • This video is absolutely amazing!!!! God has deff blessed you with an amazing gift, with that being the ability to touch so many people both deaf and hearing. There have been many nights i watch your videos and try memorize the signs.. I have even taught my preschoolers "Jeremiah was a bullfrog" its really cute to see them do it!!

    GOD BLESS

    xo

  • Thank you, lovinglife424. I've been off of YT for awhile, so I apologize for the delayed response. I'm honored you watch my videos to pick up signs, and that you taught your preschoolers "Jeremiah...". I bet it is darling :-) It's something they will prob always remember; great for you to peak their interest through song. God bless you as well

  • i love this song so much, julie durden is actually my sign language teacher she is amazing!

  • Lucky you, AllAmericanWhiteChic! It is an incredibly beautiful, touching song. :-)

  • That was beautiful! I first "heard" this song performed by a Deaf dance troupe, and it was amazing (They used a mix of PSE and ASL)- it's good to find a video of it on YouTube!

For the record, I'm not deaf- this is my second year of studying ASL. I find it's a beautiful language and has brought me into a world so different and similar at the same time to my own...

Sorry for rambling- amazing video. ^w^

  • Thank you, TheAsterik! I whole-heartedly agree with all that you said. Thank you for taking the time to let me know you liked it. Good luck with your ASL studies! :-)

  • Perfect as always. Is your daughter going to be in any more of your videos? I remember her doing an excellent job at signing too.

  • I love this song. It's almost as beautiful as the one you did for the firefighter. Keep up the great work. Much Love - Jessi

  • Lauren! WOW!! I was SO moved by your videos! This one in particular! I was so blessed that I ran across you this early AM... WOW!!!! God bless you and the work you do! This truly brought tears to my eyes...and joy to my heart! Absolutely amazing!!

  • Thank you, halo6869! I'm so happy you liked them! I just put a new one up Sunday that you might like. It's the "Skin (Sarabeth)" one. Thank you for taking the time to let me know your thoughts! :-)

  • you are so welcome! I love your work and what you do for others! God bless you and everyone this may touch!! Have a safe and healthy journey! God Bless!

    Janice

  • WoW! This is a beautiful song! Deaf people are not broken, they are perfect that way!! AMEN! Standing, clapping, hooray!!

  • thanks so much for the videos. I have a 14 year old daughter who was born deaf in one ear and a profound loss in the other. Im blessed that with a hearing aid she can hear some. She is a huge Rascal Flatts fan and I have been using your clips to help me learn to sign them. Thank you againk keep up the good work we need more of these for our children

  • Hi Southernchild08! Sorry for the delay; I was out of town for a bit. Thank you for the feedback! I am SO glad that you like the videos and most importantly, that they brought you and your daughter together. That put a smile on my face :-) Signing and RF songs go perfectly together, so I'm sure you'll see more from me. You may want to subscribe (if not already) or check back as I hope to have their song, "Skin (Sarabeth)" up soon. My best to you and your daughter!!

  • Every so often we accidentally fall into something that lets us make a difference in the world; as you're doing here. When I get sad I watch your videos and it helps me feel better. The expressiveness you put into your signing is really beautiful and fits the music so well. It's wonderful that so many people have been inspired by your signing (I've learned a little myself) and you've helped cheer up so many people. I think it's great and I hope you make more, you really have a gift with this.

  • This is certainly one of the better comments I have read posted on Lauren's work, daveytb. You expressed my sentiments to a tee. The song she did here was really "Perfect That Way" in respect to the way it is performed to communicate it's meaning to those are without the ability to hear it. Lauren picked a 5/5 Star song and did a 5/5 star performance. Thanks again Lauren!

  • Thank you, quinoacat! I am honored by everything that you said and that you took the time to respond to daveytb's nice comment. I truly appreciate your support and wanted you to know!! My best, ~Lauren

  • daveytb, thank you so much for your comment; it truly made my day. I am ever so amazed and humbled by the response to these, for doing them for others is bringing ME so much peace. They are so good for my soul that I feel I should be thanking of each of you - which I try to do. I get right on here when I am feeling down as well; music and the beauty of sign language change my mood in an instant. I love that you wrote that you were inspired to learn some signs too! Thk you for letting me know.:-)

  • You did great in this video as well as the other videos.

I have a mild hearing loss. I took sign language in high school all four years. You are doing a great thing. Thank you! So, now all people can enjoy music.

  • Thank you, jskhawaii2006! I appreciate you taking the time to let me know you liked it! :-)

  • Lauren--Very nicely done. You put so much heart and soul into this. Your videos are always a pleasure to watch for the beauty and grace of your signing, and your choice of songs is great for those of us who are not hearing impaired to listen to while we watch.

  • You are always so kind to me - thank you for the nice comments! They certainly inspire me to continue :-)

  • That was beautiful. I'm hard of hearing and signing the song helps a lot. Thanks!

  • Oh I'm so glad! Thank you for letting me know! ~Lauren

  • I don't know anything about signing (or its various styles ASL, SEE, etc) and was surprised to read comments from a few folks who disagree with your approach. Always critics. I feel anyone who takes the time and effort to learn sign language shows a great act of love for humankind. Lauren, you're beautiful in many ways! An analogy: wouldn't it be better to have millions of "illiterate" people inspired to learn to read at a basic level than just a few hundred at a "Shakespeare" level? cont...

  • If the various schools get together to create a more universal system, it won't seem so mysterious and might allow for greater inclusion of the deaf population into society. Isn't that the ultimate goal? Plus, imagine how much noise pollution could be saved if people signed--not because they have to--but because they CHOOSE to? Personally, I talk so much, I get tired of my own voice at times! I can't imagine life without music, but there's a lot blabbing going on these days that I wouldn't miss.

  • Very nice thing you are doing for the

    hearing impaired...God bless you!

    Stu

  • Thank you again, Stu!

  • WOW! This song is absolutely beautiful. i love it.

  • Thank you, littlebit7513!:-)

  • Thank you so much. I love the songs and you are signing. I wrote a little blog on you and your signing. I called it, "hands can be sexy too." lol. They truly can and you show this. Thank you again. ~jaden~

  • Ha! You definitely brought a smile to me today, Jaden! Me, the subject of a blog? Or should I say, "My hands" subject of a blog? :-) Hope its a good one! Thanks for letting me know you liked it. Take Care

  • I am pleased that I made you smile. You songs/signing brings smiles to my face too. The song I love the most is "Wanna Know Love," and you really are, "hot," in it, barefoot and all. lol. Keep doing more please. It does a lot of good I promise. I have friends now walking around signing to themselves, just from what they watched you do. Again, thank you Lauren. Thank you very much.

  • The usa sign language and music are art. You does the hobby do music? It is an infant receiving education teacher? korea deaf.

  • Hi Jeff! I received both comments, so thank you thank you! I remember that your daughter is deaf, so I had hoped you would like it. Okay, so you have to tell me what I said that gave the impression that I wrote the song too. I did not, so I want to make sure I correct my page if I need to. Julie Durden and Tim Johnson wrote it; she is at juliedurden dot com. I love the lyrics as well. I will hop on and add myself to your group list - wow, 6,000 videos?! Amazing! Thank you, Jeff!
