I NEED HELP WITH THE SAME LAPTOP LIKE YOURS. EVERYTIME IT LOADS IT SHOWS THE LOGO THEN GOES BLACK WITH AN EN DASH AT THE TOP LEFT CORNER. IT STAYS LIKE THAT NO MATTER HOW LONG. I REALLY NEED HELP! IF ANYONE CAN HELP PLEASE ANSWER BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@TheD3kster In the bios is it set to boot to your C: drive first, if so try booting, to a rescue USB disk or something else like an external cd drive just to make sure it will boot to something.

@Macintosh3745 the em350 can be uograded to to gigs of ddr2 667mhz. it doesnt necessarilly need to be special ram. it said that my ram is for dell, but it works just fine with the emachines

i have this. for some reason the screen wont work? it starts up but nothing will appear on the screen? it's wierd. any help would help

@AirsoftGunsAndBbGuns if you still have this computer you should try this. This happened to my laptop once the screen was just black when it started up. take out the battery for 5 to 10 mins and let it cool

They could have got the price even lower on this too if they had just included ubuntu netbook remix from the start. I like using ubuntu on netbooks more anyway. Mine currently has Lubuntu 10.04 on it with the netbook launcher and it's blazing fast for what it is

Cool use of the netbook. I do something similar with Ubuntu on an old tower, which I run headlessly. But instead of VNC, which is really talkative and slow, I use X (the network-ready graphical protocol that already displays your graphics on Ubuntu). Try out the freeware Xming on the Windows machine to tap into it; you'll be amazed how cool it is. Hook up the netbook to your stereo, download Rhythmbox, and you'll have an Internet radio instantly controllable with your Windows 7 laptop. MP3s too.

I have 1 of these and got one for my girlfriend. It worked fine for me great and hers crash. I am going to mod mine so it is the cpu is cooler and so it looks not like an emachine lol.

Wireless Draft N is just the latest and greatest compared to Wireless G. Wireless N uses MIMO and runs around 130-160Mbps, where as G runs around 56Mbps.
