  • is this intuitive or advanced?

  • I finally got a sub-30 (29.97) solve!!! Thank you!!!

  • Wow this made so much sense, thank you so much, F2L makes so much sense to me now :D

  • im extremely sorry. but i dont understand anything you're saying. i have done everything you've done by the book and nothing comes out right. but my record using beginner's method is 44.3s and average of 5 is 59.3s (nothing impressive i know!) but i am struggling badly.

  • thank you so much

  • Can you please do a new video its hard to follow please jake

  • next time, plz use a camerastand

  • i can do f2l in 10 seconds

  • Just one question sir... How many cubes ?

  • thank you so much this helped alot! "like this vid"

  • Thank you so much! Your videos have helped me drastically improve my cubing. I usually have to rely on algorithms, but with this level of understanding, I can have my muscles to the work for me!

  • Easiest and best F2L tutorial on the internet. Bravo badmephisto.

  • Well the problem for me is that whenever I make one corner-edge it screws up the other ones, I end up doing them ad infinitum! I'm clearly not smart enough to go beyond the beginners method my brain's heating up!

  • @LosAnJulien It's simple. Use the free slots that you have at the moment. If you are stuck on the last one, turn the top layer until the slot is at the back so you can use it.

  • thanks, really nice video, with a couple more reads on the net i can now do f2l quite fast :).

  • this is definatly you worst video.....so unclear.

  • so i guess i fount out that the last case ( sticker on top ) can be transformed into either one of the two easier ones kind of fast ( 2 or 3 moves ), and that makes it easier !

  • Hi, i'm getting kind of confortable with this method but i have a problem when i have my 3 slots filled good, the last slot is a problem, because i can really do one move to hide the corner ( or the edge in the case of the "sticker on top" case ). Any help with that ? I find that if i do some stuff i can actually turn that case into a "stick on the right" case tho, and it makes it easier...

  • i give up its a big enough accomplishment of solving the rubiks cube in general. who really cares how fast you can do it. srry if u dont think so but thats my opinion

  • man that was the best f2l tutorial ever

  • can you make a tutorial on how to put the edges on top? like if they're in the wrong slot?

  • thanks!

  • if anyone needs algorithms or has questions ask me at one of my vids or send me message

  • @Z3NDR4G0N you have to hide the edge->move the corner; if da edge's placed and da corners above it then do it: 3X(R U R' U') and there are more cases for when the whites facing up, i will upload cases for f2l

  • Check out my videos to learn PLLs an OLLs like R, N, G perm, i think i will make more oll tuts hmmmm.....

  • i have been doing the fridrich method for months now and this was so illuminating. thanks!

  • That was extremely well explained and organized, thanks! I just started learning f2l about a week ago and this is one of the more well-explained videos

  • i remember watching this video 6 months ago and i didn't understand anything now my record is 10.25 NL and average of 5 13.81

  • nvm :D

  • sometimes.. i have a corner with the white sticker facing up, what do i do?

  • thankss dude

  • someone please answer i just finished learning the beginners method and am pretty confident with my results but i wanted to go further.....my question is what if the edge is not in the top layr ...i know i later might realize how dumb of a question this is......

  • amazing vid ,this is the only f2l video in you tube i understood properly and helped me to improve my solve time

  • Very nice mephisto, i fell so much better about my life now

  • Good job dude! _:D

  • I gtg, ima make this quick. You have the BEST f2l tut ive seen. I can do it now!

  • I'm having issues when I have one more slot to fill, how do I not mess up any of the other corners? Everything else makes lots of sense.

  • Haha awkward head cam

  • Amazing Thank you

After averaging a minute and five seconds with the beginners method this tutorial is so helpful for F2L

  • i average about 1 min 20 , best being 54 seconds. i just dont understand this method... i watched the vid, been trying for forever and i just dont understand this concept... my friend tried showing me how to do it but hes not a good teacher. he just ses... u see this... here and here... and then its done but he doesnt explain... can somebody inbox me or make a vid for me explaining this slowly and clearly for me? thx

  • im doing like average of 1 min 8 sec with beginners method ,, my shortest time being 58 seconds..ive been trying to learn the fridrich F2L for quite some time,, i looked so much for a guide but none seemed to help .. this one really helped me and im now cutting lots of time from the F2L

for those who think its not a good guide - keep on trying and watching the vid over and over until u get it

    thanks badmephisto !!

  • Okay, I just tried one algorithm here and I (accidentally) filled a gap perfectly. And you say you can not explain.

    Thank you!

  • You have so many cubes..

  • What happens when you just need 1 more corner pair? I always try to do it, but i mess up my other sides. Please help!

  • I average 55 on a zhanchi knowing full PLL and 2 look OLL.

What the hell am I doing wrong?

  • I can do the Beginner's method in 1:30 best/Average: 2 mins, should i be learning the Fridrich's method or do i need to be faster with the beginnners method before i start learning

  • @AussieRaver1996 How fast you can do it doesn't really matter in this case, you just need to have a solid understand of what you are doing with f2l.

  • @AussieRaver1996 naw im there too and im learning it it is pretty easy. dont get too comfortable with the begin method it will be hard to break that habit

  • @AussieRaver1996 i would learn the beginners until you atleast get the beginners to a 1:30 average not best. then u can search .. f2l,pll,oll,

  • thanks for the reply :)

  • Used to get 11 seconds but I haven't been cubing for 3 years :( Now I get 19. :( - If anyone has any questions just comment on this or message me :)

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • what should you do??!!

  • what happens if a edge or corner is in the wrong colum

  • @rockbrothers511 Move it into your "working space" (usually the top layer) and then re-pair and resolve it :)

  • You actually made quite a lot of sense...i have no idea what ppl r on about to tell u the truth...i mean i had to watch it a couple of times...but u have to watch anything a couple of times for it to make sense.

  • for some reason i find your voice awesome but im a guy so im not sure about this...

  • I got pissed Off .....I am so Fucking Confused XD AHHHHHHHH PLEASE HELP

  • Once I watched this when I were fully concentrating and were fully awake but I didn't understand... Now I've only slept for a few hours, tired as hell, hasn't eaten enough and I'm a little dizzy... but now I understood it right away :<

  • Anyone got any tips on how to improve my f2l, I'm really struggling with trying to stop my cube rotations. How do I stop rotating the cube without resorting to slow B turns. my F2l is taking about 15 seconds. I'm averaging about 25-30 seconds :/

  • @JoeJones3001 Some rotations are fine, and necessary. I think I do 1-3 rotations. I average 18-19 btw.

  • Average time for me is about 40 seconds with the beginner method... lets see how much i can push that down with this :P

  • OFMG today 19.62 secs with beginners method i only needed to do the cross, bodom corners then the middel layer edges and last layer was done, no olls pll no fridrich method i was soooooooo lucky :D

  • By the way F2L OLL and PLL helped me a lot my timing has come to 16.93 sec from 52.64 thanx a lot

  • @alp1202 Hey, that was weird men.

  • Hey badmephisto!

i first went to your website for tips on Fridrich meathod.

I downloaded your PLL trainer can you please also make a F2L, OLL and cross trainer?

  • @alp1202 Why, that's silly. If you want to practice F2L, just solve F2L and then scramble -> repeat.

  • wth ru talking about?

  • i understood o.o

  • just got brainfucked.

  • This got patched 3 days ago man.

  • @david12341234 laaaaame

  • Comment removed

  • great video already watched it like 5 times.and i got a question actually i already know how to solve the cube with the begginers method but making the cross is so slowwwwwwww.do you had problems with the cross when u started???

  • @edferda same prob for me i can do the rest of the sube in an average 45 seconds but the begging is about a minute for me

  • Great tutorial!

  • Thx for ulpoading!!

    time: 33,57

  • thax a lot man i leart f2l!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i actually found that way easier great work on the vids

  • good tutorial. thanks

  • i really dont understand wat your talking about

  • got it!!

  • Whenever i do this, i always end up messing up the other slots. FRUSTRATING!

  • @JiggedyJamROBLOX You're taking out the pairs you already solved then hiding pieces, make sure you don't destroy anything when hiding pieces.

  • Great video, excellent explanation, thx a lot

  • How often do you use the F2L advance tricks?those that use u,f,B,D for solving faster F2L...

  • This video is frustrating... i have done this step like 85 times and it doesn't work for me!! Help!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This shit always bugged me, until I viewed your video, thanks dude :))

  • Hello. You're Canadian (all the people here know that :)). But I read in your website that you had to learn english, to manage to do videos in english. In Canada, the two languages are english and french. So do you speak french ? If you speak french can you translate or subtitle your videos please ? (Sorry for my bad english I'm a 14 French guy :D)

  • this really is a great video, that explains it so clearly :) am looking forward to part 2 !!!

  • hi everyone im new to speed cubing and i was wondering what does sub 10 , 20 ,30 etc mean

  • @sneakylie If a person is "sub-10", it means they can consistently solve the rubiks cube in under 10 seconds. Same with 20 and 30.

  • @C7EA oh thnx

  • I used the FULL beginners method up until I was at around 40 seconds. (ridiculous i know) After that, I decided to learn 2 look oll and pll, or 4 look last layer. This has me down to a PB of 30.06 secs, but using a beginners method for my f2l, NOW I'm deciding to learn fridrich F2L to get sub 30. The bottom line is, for those of you who are still over a minute with the beginners method, I wouldn't reccomend learning this just yet.

  • @mizzcookiemonster10 WHY??!?!?!?!?!?

  • @theincredebletube100 Because if you're not even sub 1 min with the beginners method, you're too noob to learn this still xD Just my opinion. Plus, you should already be very comfortable with fingertricks when you decide to learn anything Fridrich related. I mean feel free to not listen to me though, I'm no expert, I just average sub 25-26. (:

  • @mizzcookiemonster10 Ok Dokie

  • I got 55.79 yesterday with the beginner method, and this confuses the shit out of me.

  • @ThePKChris i got 25 seconds with the beginners method :P

  • @ThePKChris it confused me to but you just hafe to parctie and watch this like 3 times it will work :)

  • @ThePKChris i got a 49 second solve

  • @ThePKChris I got 54.94 :) And I have to agree the Fridrich method is alot more confusing, but basmephisto has a good tutorial to take OLL from 57 algorithms to 9 algorithms, which is much easier. I recommend you check it out - I can do most of OLL but not F2L, don't know why I learned OLL first though...

  • @ThePKChris itll do that!

  • @ThePKChris my best time is 38 sec :D

  • @ey24116 Same here :D

  • @ThePKChris why?

  • @ThePKChris I have gotten 51 seconds on beginner and yes, this is confusing.

  • Saved me hours of memorization

  • Thanks for a great video and explanation!!

  • I wish i could see you in real life so it would be easier to learn!!!!

  • You're the best thank you very much!

  • Dude, you are the man!!

The explanation is really thorough. Got it after watching it once.

  • My best with the beginners method is 42 seconds.

  • @ObLiVioNv7 29 with me.

  • I am a Speedcuber using the Fridrich Method, I average 21-22 seconds with a sub 10 Personal Best, PLEASE check out my channel! :)

  • my average is like1:20 with the easiest beginner method can i begin learning this???

  • @phython911 my best is 1.24 with the beginner method and i've learned this so i guess you can as well :)

  • this is reaaally confusing

  • @theIdil94 Don't learn this unless you average roughly 60 seconds or less.

  • @swedishcuber Hm in that case I could use some more practice...

  • HOW MANY CUBES DO YOU HAVE MAN!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • @jeffdunhamtobe That is quite common with speedcubers, I only have 2

  • @Speedcuber105 same

only 2 cubes, store bought and DIY

  • @jeffdunhamtobe about 9

  • @jeffdunhamtobe counting all the ones that i have bought... i would have like 7 cubes -_-

  • go to speedcubingcentral. com for really good speedcubing algs, blindfold algs, tutorials, and more. ITS THE FUTURE OF CUBING. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. IT'S AWESOME!!!!

    speedcubingcentral. com

  • my record is 12.89 with oll skip

  • I've solved with the beginner's method in 36.1 seconds.

  • i did't understand it at first... but that was when i was about to go to bed...... the next day when i watched this ............. i actually new how to do it! thanx man ur so coooool

  • Hell man! I don't even understand a single step, i can solve the cube with the beginner method in just 1.50 mins!

  • @GameBot78 I don't understand anything too, and I can solve it with the beginner method in 0:58

  • This is the best F2L video on the face of the planet...good job

  • This is easily the best tutorial I've seen of the f2l method.

  • cubing taught me to protect things I care about ); (8:35)

  • what cubes did you use?

like the white one and the two black one

  • what cube do you have?

  • This is much better ty

  • so fucking confusing

  • You've helped a lot thanks so much

  • This was the only f2l guide that i did fully understand!

    Thanks bro.

  • Intuitive F2L... It's what the cool kids are doing.

  • is there a way that i can do f2L not so intuitive?? cause with f2l intuitive it takes so long for me lol..like a minute to finish f2l...

  • @MrRubix3 All you can do is practice.. try looking for corner/edge pairs during the examination/cross.

  • @footballfreakcwf Yes..thanks by the way...now i do F2L in about 30 secs..im still practicing to do it much faster...ive developed my own method to do it and i works really good and fast

  • thank you so much mephisto!!! i want to say that thanks to this tutorial i placed 1st in 4 entire states with a time of 10.02 seconds. thanks!!

  • u er... make cubes? u have like so many copies.

  • Thx for all you tutorial :D!

  • u fail

no not really its just normal

    you just have to practice

  • my average is about 22 secs before, but now after i tried f2l my average is 43 secs, can you explain why this is happening?

  • @kennykart123 f2l will be slower to you until you get used to it. don't worry :D

  • dude ! is the camera attached to ur head ????

  • 1000th like!

Really taking chunks off my 2 min beginners method average.

Keep up the good work :)

    Grtz Woutie

  • alright. my average is 1:09 but when i do F2L my time is 1:20+.... is that normal?

  • @hardycove1 yes that is normal, you have to practise a lot.

Then you will get much better

  • @hardycove1 keep practising!! you will get a lower time

  • @hardycove1 obv its new

  • what do i do if the edge and corner colors are the same?

  • thank you so much!

  • beginners method: 55 sec.

    first f2l : 21 seconds!

THANK YOU, this is the only good f2l video on youtube

    thank you badmephisto!!!!!

  • i noticed one thing. first i tht u had ur camera placed somewhere on top of ur head so ur head wont be in front of it, but i noticed that the camera moves all the time so could it be that you have taped a webcam or some sort into your head so its kinda a POV Shot ? :D

  • First I love the Video, I am really starting to get the F2L's, but I am confused, at some points.... Is a comment in all these comments or a way for you to list the starting point for all these different cases..... For example: At 1:45 into the video you start to really explain case 1. Is there a list of where the semetrical analog of case #1 starts, or case 2 starts etc etc. So then I don't need to watch the whole sections of the video over to get to the one place I am confused by... Thanks

  • @13scorpion26

First off LOL, that's a little bit lazy. But I'll watch the video for you and write them down (even though I've watched this video a million times. The original case will be listed as Case (#)a, and it's symmetrical analogue will be listed as Case (#)b.

    Case 1a: 1:44

    Case 1b: 3:32

    Case 2a: 5:23

    Case 2b: 7:38

Just remember you should figure out how this is working, not just blindly follow instructions.

  • @bbryant0620

Thank you, its weird about a hour after I wrote this.... everything sorta just clicked. But how is it lazy? I mean say you were just foggy on a part of case 2, why sit though everything else just to review that one part. I didnt even need this but thanks anyways.

  • @13scorpion26

I'm sorry if I sounded rude, I didn't intend it that way. Cubers look at it like everything cube related just takes knowledge, time, and practice. To become great you may have to watch some videos several times. I've watched this video many times and I don't even need to. And since I need to practice a lot I would just listen to the video while I practice until it gets to where I needed to see.

My point was just that you will need a little more patience and dedication.

    XOXO

    : D

  • Practice makes Perfect.

  • thanks sooooo much u made f2l possible! i never understood f2l until u came along. my friend acctually recomended you.he was rightyou are good.keep making vids!

  • are there any algs that put the corner piece in place when the edge piece is already in the right position? I cant make sense of the pictures on sites that list f2l algs. awesome video btw

  • @kidogashnog

Sure, the algorithms at this website are decent:

    solvethecube,110mb,com/f2lalgorithms,html

I used commas instead of dots so be sure to change them to dots.

  • this is confusing :(
