  • LONG LIVE THE REAL NEWS

I will fund as soon as possible

  • Ive definitely got $10 for you.

    This is a great idea.

  • hey the folks on the hill, why would there be such an obscure programme on this?.. its funny and true though

  • ok i would love this if they are really neutral

  • my dear god ...my dear god i cant believe that i have nearly got taken by this channel. this news channel has been created to mess with our minds yes i agree this network looks and is fake..the guests are fake.. they are looking at the bigger picture to get millions of people watching so they can feed them whatever they want to portray as 'real' PAUL JAY IS THE MASTER OF SPIN AND COUNTER SPIN HE IS THE NEPHEW OF A ZIONIST JEW. HE HAS A DIFFERENT AGENDA....DO NOT WATCH THIS

  • thank god these issues will be addresd.. of bias and corrupt media ... thank you...what can you do for Israeli hackers that hijack blogs and comments...and they steal identity this is a big problem.. I am a fan of 'democracy now' and 'press TV'......the main media news channels are also coming on line to corrupt the minds of people how will they distinguish truth from lies.?

  • You cannot deny the one sided propaganda in american news.

Watch their news reports and if you agree with their views, support them.

  • I would be honored to donate.

  • "no government funding" shit for brains

  • cool;

    i hope they are not lying;

because we really need something like this

  • if this is video is true, this is exactly what we need. the government controlled media is whats running our live, from whats going on in Iraq, to how we are supposed to dress, and you cant deny that. we need to know the facts and how they got them, simply being told whats going on is getting a little old and tiring now. i support this network.

  • Maybe it's me, but this news network almost looks fake.

  • wow, they invented... PBS.

  • thats y i say that US should talk to Iran.. right now the US has all the middle eastern countries in its pocket.talk with iran and get it into the pocket... this will leave only one enemy for the US i.e al qaeda.the US will get another puppet which will be more brutal in crushing al qaeda than its wahhbi counterparts.and israel will have three puppets in its pocket..

    1. the United States

    2. the arab world

    3. iran

"I wonder if they will report on the dissenting opinions of climate change"

I would hope they do. Sure it's a blow to the ego to have beliefs dashed but factual information is (SHOULD) be much more important than ego. Climate change IS real BUT it's hard to know for certain how much humans vs natural cycles (sun closer etc) are responsible. Regardless, reducing pollution/increasing energy efficience is a good thing. Make an oath to give people facts and you can't go wrong.

  • I wonder if they will report on the dissenting opinions of climate change, on women's violence, not just violence to them, and so on. My first impression is, this is the same scam that was pulled with PBS years ago.

  • Agreed, they talk alot about being fair and unbiased so i hope they get some of the many scientist who have various opinions contrary to the popular global warming theory. p.s. oops i gave your comment a thumbs down i meant to give it a thumbs up danl9999 sorry :)

  • Yeah, this is tricky. Since they are reliant on viewer donations, they could just as likely follow viewer demands when they make their content. If another similar network popped up, viewers might polarize, then we'd really have atomized news.

Another beef, its hard to take anything seriously that is titled "The Real News," maybe their future competitor can the the "True News Network"

  • the real lies

  • The real news are pro israel. Its not real its corrupt.

  • A reasonable idea. There is no need to recreate the wheel, however. Much of what is news is not really controversial. The companies want to sell products to people, right? They have merged so much and become so powerful, that they can manipulate those people through censorship. Your group could focus on seeing the news through another lense, or from another angle. (Or in SOME cases, noticing it at all)

May you always be able to steer clear of corruption and intimidation of all forms.

  • Way to go in taking the broadcast monopoly over from the powerful corporate owned mainstream.

As for the internet scene, I have been excited about this new startup faceoftruth dot com which seem to be doing a good job of countering the Google News monopoly

  • good luck. you'll need it.

  • Amen. Great job!

  • to balance out a green appearance to try and not look like they have a green bias, would mean something like defending corporations or rites to further activities which may influence global warming??? I mean devils advocate? Only they're not getting paid by corporations, so I don't see then pandering to anyone so far, nor do I predict it in the future. All we gotta do is DONATE!

  • Sounds good but apparently they are starting with a leftist/green bias. I would think that real news would mean including minority views, the sides of issues that are not given air time on the big networks, and devoting time to a side based on the strength of their case rather than the strength of their numbers without finding a "devil's advocate" to "balance" them in order to uphold the appearance of objectivity.

So, have they launched? Do they seem significantly different?

  • Don't confuse critical analysis of all situations and public broadcast without spin as being leftist. Thats proper journalism, they'll give any Real News on any party or politically news worthy event. Non partisan.

Being green, and acceptance of observable facts and provable science go hand in hand. So consider that.

    - They're not leftist, they're open minded and logical.

    - They're green because they don't ignore the facts or correlations.

  • yes... they seem significantly different

  • Have you noticed that all the news shows only have "barbie dolls" as talking heads now? Perfect hair, perfect teeth, cleavage. It is not news but entertainment.

  • This is exciting.

They've hit the nail on the head about what's wrong with the media which has so much to do with what's wrong with society.

To make a really significant impact, however, I feel like this needs to be a 24 hour channel. All the restaurants and bars and hotel lobbies around the world would still be piping in the bogus corporate media message passively brainwashing whoever happens by.

  • The network will still be skewed toward regions where the most donations are coming from. That'll decide which demographics are most important to the network. They are not going to want to report on something that is going to hinder the flow of donations and some real news SHOULD cause instability and unrest.

  • I disagree. I think most people donating to the Real News are donating to hear about news they aren't getting anywhere else.

  • I like the Real News concepts. More power to you people in the Real News.

    Thank you,

    11/14/07

  • Amen. Too many big corps own too much in AMerica

  • I like the idea...I just wonder if this news will be politically motivated just disguised as otherwise.

  • I wonder if this has anything to do with the Pacifica foundation?

Finally, a companion Television network I can watch that will not make me automatically vomit.

  • Getting closer to the right idea, but still too much sensationalism, too much spin (even if I agree with the spin). I *CRAVE* a network that Just. Reports. The. News.

  • The news and who reports it are inseperable. It's always going to have spin. What's fresh here is that it's free from the corporate pressure that has gotten a grip of the political right and then the major networks. Integrity and transparency is what's needed.

  • Any attempt at change is noble. I see plenty of concern, "can they truly be objective?". Yes indeed, we have formed a DEEP mistrust of media, and it's well deserved.

How about watch, then judge, then decide if it's something new.

Your power of reason is what separates you from our slightly lesser-evolved companions on this marble in space. Use it for yourself when the time comes. Now go use your time in ignorant bliss wisely, searching for porn.

  • Good work!

  • Everybody has an opinion. How to keep news balanced ?

The bias problem is not just sponsors but network management opinions.

The idea that news can be balanced is almost an oxymoron. In a world where the existing news networks and public opinion is conditioned toward polarized view points and cynicism, we are confronted with the ultimate question ?

Is there truly an unbiased truth to report ?

  • Can truth be extricated from the means by which it is presented ?

Consider a photograph: Many would agree that a photographic representation would be more 'true to life' than an artistic rendering by an individual artist.

  • Yet photographers must incorporate basic knowledge and intuitive experience of artistic skills in framing, composing, lighting and choosing the subject matter of their photographs. Just by merely cropping an image and thereby removing a key detail, one can tell a completely different story than the same image which has not been cropped.

  • The idea of this "Real News" network seems to be one in which the network itself, free of corporate sponsorship interests, feels unbridled control over how and what news they will present.

It is understandable that such a network may have a market appeal. But the notion that it is 'the real news' sounds more like a marketing concept than an absolute statement of truth in reporting.

  • Nonetheless, I wish the network well in their endeavors.

It will be interesting to see how our polarized society reacts to their presentation of newsworthy events and where they place the emphasis on what constitutes 'top news' items.

  • this network is owned just like any other network, they just claim to be "non-profit" and can easily funnel their funds from the highest bidder.

  • I hate the MSM like the rest of you but this honestly seems to me like just another Indymedia.

You guys had me 100% up until the statement that reporting on Global Warming will be a priority.

Hey, the scientists themselves can't agree 100% so how can this be bombarded to a priority?

Hmm, give-up-your-brain-or-CO2-is-gonna-kill-us-all scaremongering or GWB's own give-up-your-freedom-or-Al-Qaida-will-bomb-us-all BS. Tough choice.

  • how about - let's look at actual evidence of humans fucking up the planet and present the REAL NEWS on environmental issues.. You don't think environmentalism started with Al Gore do you? :)

Educated people have been trying to raise the issue of global warming for decades, so it's definitely worth looking into... But you're 100% right that we need to see past the scaremongering and ask the question 'who benefits' here..

  • if it was going to be available in britain I'd definitely be giving my $10.

and even if you do disagree with the idea of global warming, you must surely see that everything else about this is a good idea!

if they really are as free from corporate and political interests as they say, and they are also well funded, this will be one of the greatest events in the history of journalism!

  • damn i wish i could donate !!! any other way to show support

  • Nice concept, let's see what happens.

Good luck RealNews, I hope you can maintain the vision.

  • I'm going to start donating. This is a truly legitimate enterprise.

  • Through much of the first centuries of the Republic, colorful local press were the norm. Most journals were subscription driven. Later, the advertisement driven model superseded them economically, and narrowed the number of sources of information. The quality of that information was further degraded by commercial pressure.

Today we hear much about the "tyranny of the amateur" conquering our cultural spaces as if it were something new. It is in fact a restoration.

  • I am tired of news networks deciding for us. I welcome such initiatives, you will have my $10 a month. Together, we can free peoples minds from the daily propaganda of the networks, together, we can ensure we are fed with real news! . Have you lot thought of going international ? not just internet but so others in asia, africa etc can watch..

  • This is EXACTLY what I've been waiting for. I'll gladly contribute to this. No subsidizing or control. Just REAL media.

  • Global warming crisis? How about instead of reporting it as a crisis, you have equal and fair reporting of both sides of the issue?

  • Umm... it is a crisis. Do you live under a rock?

  • I think his point is with the debate weather we are the big reason or not. And living under a rock might not be a bad idea with what the msm has been feeding us

  • there are not 2 sides to a crisis you stupid fuck . 99 percent of world scientists agree it's a man made crisis get your head out of rush Limbaugh's ignorant ass.

  • Global warming crisis? How about instead of labeling it a crisis, you report both sides of the argument fairly?

  • it was call global warning...not warming

  • so is it going to actually going to be an unbiased news source, or just a news source with an extreme liberal slant instead of conservative slant? Because from what I've been seeing...

  • The truth has a well known liberal bias.

Let's be honest: conservative slant means it has bullshit and is either backing up bigoted religious crap or republican warmongering.

  • as much as I love bashing right-wing types, there's still always a difference between the truth and any kind of bias; I was pointing out there was quite the liberal bias to this video, but in many ways that's a welcome change compared to the crap seen on network television. I subscribed. I'm hopeful, but at this point it's looking pretty biased. maybe in a good way, but it's still there.

  • Sounds great.... maybe liberal... but still, definitely great!

  • I made the mistake of voting for Bush.

I hope he's in prison by the year 2010.

    I trusted that a**hat.

  • Go Ron Paul!! This will be great! he will get some good and equal airtime!

Hooray for a real news channel! Things are a changin'!

  • Amazing, nice work!

  • This looks awesome!

  • They'll need to hire Alex Jones and Christopher Bollyn. Then everyone would watch.

I sure hope they break the Jewish monopoly on "the news".

    Good luck!

  • Ignorant right wing racist!

The media is corporate controlled, it is an issue of class not race. Moron!

  • if TheRealNewsNetwork gave you the real story, most of the journalists and the people running it, would be dead...the criminals who control the world would most likely kill them...that includes, Bush, Cheney, and the rest of them...

  • if TheRealNewsNetwork gave you the real story, most of the journalists and the people running it, would be dead...the criminals who control the world would most likely kill them...that includes, Bush, Cheney, and the rest of them...

  • Just like when they killed Ron Brown and Vince Foster. Oops. That was the other guy, and his wife, the 2 for 1 deal with Bill and Hill. One way or another they'll screw ya. Are you ready for more good times America?

  • if TheRealNewsNetwork gave you the real story, most of the journalists and the people running it, would be dead...the criminals who control the world would most likely kill them...that includes, Bush, Cheney, and the rest of them...

  • Ever heard of the Patriot Act I? How about Patriot II and III? No?... How about global aerosol spraying of aluminum and radioactive barium? Did Gore cover that? [No] Do YOU cover that? [Doubtful]... Methinks just more of the gore. Actions, not words, are needed now.

  • Thanks Bill

  • What liberals don't like liberal news? Thats odd.

  • This ROCKS!!

  • Yes! I've got an extra $10/month for this.

  • Fuck Fox news

  • This really looks no different from CNN International. I smell smug.

  • Very funny; very astute; and very encouraging that you, Richandler, still in your 20's, appears not to have forsaken critical thinking. If there were only more from your generation that would extend themselves beyond 'Fox sucks' as a concise, though bone-headed, analysis of the state of our current media.

  • god i hope this works

  • I can see it now...

Shaun Hannity:"The real news continues to spew toxic liberal propaganda venom"

  • This news organization definitely has potential! Very cool!

  • North American Union and Amero

    currently not in RealNews Archive

Do you intend to cover that sooner then later?

  • they're trying to avoid fiction

  • As long as their reporting is well sourced I could care less what their bias is. I can think critically and make up my mind for myself. I hope these folks do the hard work that too few investigative journalists seem to be doing these days.

  • we need a form of professional news in our new model thats produced strictly by us. I think it's a grand idea

  • byronhawthorne: `pasteurizes it, with an already-been-done Gnostic Marxism format

LOL back of dinosaur. i love the way you broke that down.its so true though about the pointlessness of it... its like its re-packaging the same prepackaged etablishment media worldview as something revoloutionary and hip. like you said THE INTERNET IS ALREADY THE ALTERNATIVE MEDIA... a true open forum of information and ideas, and individual discernment. which is exactly what the authoritarian elite despises...

  • for me personally and for alot of other people who have been commenting... the pious infalliable righteousness is really really grating... the whole thing feels like your watching some promotional piece for UNESCO ... as for the news... its the same AP/ REUTERS footage everyone else uses just edited by them in their own special way. Their journalists are all establishment types regurgitating the same talking points.

  • so purely hypothetically- how do you think this network will do and what effect if any will it have?...and how do individuals counter the shit storm from all the ideolouge drive propagandistic media on allsides?

  • byronhawthorne : used to be called "reporters," who now sty;e themselves as "Journalists."

sadly you are right. Elitest Ideologues. Rather than being content in a nieche of tenured post secondary professorships they've decided that the only thing that could defeat fox news propaganda is leftist socialist propaganda.

  • its sad that these "alternative" media promote how there not corporate and have no agenda linked to them, yet THEY ARE ALL suppoprted by military/ corporate money in the form of FORD MACARTHUR ROCKEFELLER FOUNDATION GRANTS

THE REAL NEWS GOT ITS SEED MONEY FROM FORD AND MACARTHUR FOUNDATIONS.

type in "alternative media paymasters" into google. click first link and learn why theyll never talk about the cfr 9/11 north american union or the global eugenics plan fronted by environmentalism

  • Most networks were not against the war. CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC campaigned for the war just as much as fox news. I would recommend reading the FAIR study that showed 70% of the mainstream media was pro war. Viewers who watched mainstream media were more likely to be misinformed.

  • One of those new fangled "24/7 websites". I can't wait to see what that will look like!

This is a attempt to make news with only a Liberal viewpoint...you know...LIKE EVERY F*****G NEWS OUTLET!

    It will fail.

  • We already have an independent network that brings most of these things to us. Unfortunately, if you don't get Direct TV or the Dish, you probably can't see it. It's called LinkTV and it's absolutely great. Check it out if you're able.

  • They don´t even mention the 911 was an inside job - Gore Vidal = Left-wing-gatekeeper-channel.

  • WELCOME! Do not disappoint us!

  • Bravo! I'll never get this on french cable will I ? but if you keep posting such good interviews and programs on youtube, you have my 10 euro support each month. But I would consider creating a stronger incentive for giving donations somehow (some extra's or something) or find other sources of revenue otherwise I fear you wont succeed. People want something in return for their money even for charities. Best of luck!

  • I agree with Vikor, there's alwasy a danger in receiving donation. You have to report what the doners want to see. Let's suppose that a Neo-NAzi group donates money to your news center, then what? Report news very favorable to nazism?

  • Its over, we are truly fucked....The new NAZIS are here stay, thanks mom and dad.....

  • greasey cock

  • But that could be my imagination and may be biased. So I will see how it goes, maybe I'm way wrong about it. So I'll chekc it out. Still, I haven't seen the news selling a war. As I remembered most news but FOX were against the war. So that's misinformation there right of the bat.

  • So far the reporting I've seen doesn't seem that different from what they report from ABC, CBS, NBC, BBC, or CNN. Don't know why I should donate $10 dollars. Don't know why they claim their different other that they claim to be for none profit. There seem to be an anti-Israel slantbut not really sure yet. That's the only thing I have seen for the moment.

  • sounds interesting and if it realy works it will be awesome, i hope that all journalists would think this way

  • Read Robert Stone's 'Hall of Mirrors' and then look at this again.

  • Congrats !! This is long overdue

  • sdssw

  • interesting!

  • It's about time that we get some real news.

  • I'd like to also see more competition. God only knows who will buy these guys later on down the road to twist the truth again.

MORE INDEPENDENT NEWS STATIONS NEEDED!!! Great job!

  • more than likely...IT IS THOSE GUYS...who has all the money in the world...who has the money to just start a global news network for kicks and giggles...Rockefeller has enough money to...Rothschild does...etc etc...follow the money...

  • At last!

I've been waiting for someone to realise this idea of a truly independent subscription-based news channel, so the ONLY thing the channel concerns itself with is reported the truth.

  • Have you considered running a "consumer rights" programme?

The BBC - who are freed from commercial sponsorship too, to be able to consider such programming - have a show called "Watchdog", which draws in an audience of several million every week, who simply investigate consumer issues.

  • It's a force unto itself here in Britain.

Whenever "Watchdog" shows up, commercial companies - realising millions are watching and that they don't dare get a bad press on the show, lest hemorrhage customers from the bad publicity - start behaving correctly to their consumers.

Product recalls, catching out price fixing cartels, getting refunds, etc.

  • Indeed, as such things are never daren't reported on commercial TV - lest lose advertising money - the extent of the "bad behaviour" of corporations will probably come as a massive culture shock to an American (and world) audience.

They are far from angels but, without programming like this to investigate and highlight it, most people around the world probably have no idea just how inexcusably bad some corporations can be. And how regularly bad their behaviour is.

  • For example, not recalling their cars because it'd cost too much, even though they absolutely 100% know that there is a design fault which can - and likely will - lead to car crashes that will kill people.

But as long as it's technically legal, you'd be stunned how many corporations would make the immoral decision: "oh, well, as long as we're not legally obligated and we'll save a few million dollars letting a 100 people or so die, then we'll just carry on".

  • Because, yes, such things are happening right now. I guarantee you that.

But you might not realise this because commercial channels will not hound and investigate a possible "bad news" story that implicates one of their potential sponsors. They can't risk their funding.

As you have a channel that has a funding model to avoid this (as the BBC does), then you should also start considering these other new types of programming that the other channels simply can't show.

  • Not least because "Watchdog" does actually get very respectable ratings and "Top Gear" is a major BBC export around the world because they are actually free to honestly say "this car is crap".

Viewers adore such programming because it gives them an honest picture about the things they themselves are buying or are going to buy.

And the fact that you can run such programming where the other channels can't would be a major sales pitch for your channel.

  • Take full advantage of the independence and bring in programming that your commercial rivals simply can't even touch.

Arguably, the BBC earns its licence fee from its "Watchdog" programme alone, thanks to what it's done catching out price fixing, dangerous product, unjust contracts and schemes, etc.

You can not only do what your commercial rivals do with greater independence, you can start using that independence to do programming they can't even consider approaching.

  • Our plan does include cable and satellite service broadcasting. We will have a 24/7 news website and an hour news show for television. Check out the website for our test news pieces today. Tell us what you think.

  • Genius! Brilliant! What took you so long? kidding, can't wait.Good bye CNN, the most Busted name in news! Finally

  • Buckminster Fuller said: "You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete."

Good on you for creating an alternative.

  • Is Real News internet based? I'd like to hear more about securing a stable future for delivery outside of the internet. I was surprised not to see a future development timeline. Of course, I'm in for support. I just realize that Imperial powers aren't going to accept threats lightly.

  • Obviously this sort of thing is going to be low on cash, so the internet makes the most sense. More and more people are getting their news online now while they are at work. I'm glad that we are seeing the transition from complaining about the Mainstream Media to creating a new media.

  • Brilliant idea and a noble cause. Wish I had money to put into this. We need this so bad...

Thank you for this! I hope it succeeds beyond all expectation!

  • There were laws on ownership ,From the 80s-mid90s they were changed. Now clear channel owns 2200? radio outlets and 6 people(Corps) control the TV news!!!!In 1983, 50 corporations controlled the vast majority of all news media in the U.S

In 2004 only 5 huge corporations -- Time Warner, Disney, Murdoch's News Corporation, Bertelsmann-Sony?? of Germany, and Viacom (formerly CBS) -- now control most of the media industry in the U.S. General Electric's NBC is a close sixth

  • I'm now a supporter.

  • and lost if we are not careful.

  • vondoooomer, a chapterised response to The Promise! I understand your concerns and we're committed to not squandering the opportunity that our supporters have given us. We cannot operate without the support of 1000's of people, and you must all keep the newsroom in check. Have you had a chance to see our beta news pieces? I'd love your feedback on those.

  • Sorry, I've been in the middle of exams, but yes, I have been watching videos on the site - mostly the interviews so far (with Monbiot, Suzuki, Escobar) and I am very impressed so far. What strikes me is that this is exactly the information I would be seeking on the internet - so think that this is going to be news for the masses is - as I have said before - something revolutionary.

  • Keep up the good work, and after exams are over, I'll be visiting the site a lot more so as to be able to have a more knowledgable opinion about what is starting to unfold.

  • So in conclusion, my money has and will be coming; $10 every month; and I will spread the word as best I can, raising awareness at Uni, and pestering people on the bus (ok, maybe not on the bus). There is a world out there to be won...

  • and instead there is an acceptance of current practices and electoral traditions WITHOUT covering other possibilities of creating and organizing just societies, then I will see all this potential as just a good idea and nothing more. And this world needs more than just a good idea.

  • . I think the US elections will be a good test case: the measure of potential for The Real News will be proportional to the degree that the Real News covers issues OUTSIDE the horse race - if there are not questions and informative segments about electoral reform (and I mean real electoral reform), and if there is not a willingness to cover ideas such as increasing democracy and democratic socialist reforms and the questioning of the status quo,

  • . It is not a threat; it is a statement of fact that should be welcomed - uncritical acceptence of even something as potentially revolutionary as the Real News is warrented because what they are purporting to do is something that I really think can bring us closer to a more just and kinder world.

  • Yes, I really think the Real News has an opportunity to do something special here, but do keep in mind that opportunities can be squandered. And if that occurs, I (and many others) will be quicker to criticize than Rosa Luxembourg was after the October Revolution.

  • And it is not just the lies; it is the message that pervades everything that they report on - "This is the way the world is; this is the way the world will always be. Don't try and change anything. You are only one person. Just accept reality, face the facts, and stop that silly dreaming; there is nothing you can do, so why even care? Just leave it to us, we'll tell you how to understand this complex world...." And so on and so forth.

  • Well I am hopeful; from what I have seen, there is something special that can be potentially done here. This is something that can truly steer what is termed the "information revolution" in such a way that now not only everyone can be reached, but everyone can be reached with an alternative to the lies of the corporate media.

  • A word of advice? You would have better luck with support by dropping paypal. There are many whom paypal has done wrong. Paypal allowed someone to clean out my bank account then had unmitigated gall to charge me 17$ processing fee apparently for cleaning out the account. My bank freaked & alerted me but paypal was too fast. It was gone. I went to sign up for monthly support on your site then turned away when I saw paypal. If you offer another option I shall return.

  • I'm Impressed..& I'm in. If you walk your talk, & it looks like you do, then you are more than a spark of light, you are a Torch

  • Sounds like another biased lib station to me. It's going to be a miserable failure.

  • Liberty and Freedom a failure? Say its not so! lol

  • you stupid polarised fool.. Stick to Fix News feeding your mind with fascist drivel..

  • I hope you stick around long enough to see the news stories produced, so that you can critique us on our product.

  • I would subscribe to an unbiased news network. Mainstream media is so obviously set up for 'entertainment' and propiganda it's amazing. some more than others (FOX), but still there.

  • If this news outlet does not support a new investigation into the events of 9/11 than its full of shit.

  • I'll assume that you're not assuming we won't cover these issues? We will be investigating 911 events. We are working with some people from your magazine, Global Outlook on ways to cover the ongoing story.

  • Is it just me, or are YouTube comments disproportionally cynical and jaded?

  • Thanks for doing this. This is strong need that we need.

  • Yes but will they let us see it in America or will it be another English Al Jeezera (sic)?

  • Best thing about The Real News ? It originates from outside of the US, which will finally provide a complete World view of events free of American bias. That, coupled with the funding model, should finally return the news to thinking journalists. Bravo !!

  • I hope if this does get off the ground it will present many different viewpoints and have a foundation of evidence based coverage, rather than just pounding an ideology even if it is different from current news networks. I mean, Global Warning? Come on. Make your case with the facts and not the rhetoric. It's like "Terror Alert" all over again.

  • I problem I see is that many people cannot differentiate between fact and opinion in the news. I would be delighted if The Real News would focus on facts and figures more and let the viewer come to his own conclusions. While I agree with the opening statement "In 2003, television news helped sell a war", as presented it is opinion, I would like to see some facts to back up the claim.

  • All these things are good. I don't think it's about choosing one over the other, it's about having choice. I also like Now public dot com.

  • i agree but NowPublic is a for-profit corporations - not something I'll support

  • yes cant wait.

i would watch democracy now but i can't stand amy goodman's voice

  • BBC is already lightyears ahead of you, and you will have to hire BBC repoeters or buy BBC reports in order to be remoteley in the same league.

  • Hey there, fair comment. Do you feel you get all the news you need from BBC? Is it redundant to try and start something that isn't reliant on government funding? Have you seen problems occurring at the BBC due to their government funding in the past few years?

  • Yes, occasional problem with BBC, but they stood up to government control even though they are funded by them. Also, NPR is good, not perfect.

Good luck and I totally would love a news channel that is worldwide and reports the truth. Sorry if I sounded negative. good luck!

  • I now have it on my website

thanks folks I am putting in money each month too

  • Wow! This is great! May I put it on my website?? I sure hope so.

  • Yes, they'd love for you to put it on your website.
