  • Instead of encouraging success and achievements, our governments and the overwhelming number of “liberal causes” that seem to control them are more interested in perpetuating the dependency and entitlement expected by the "disadvantaged" sectors of society. If you race for the bottom you will get there because down is always easier than up. Good luck America.

  • "Being white itself is a form of scholarship" you must be joking Marc Lamont Hill. Being white in today’s world means being forced to assume the full burden of all the so called "disadvantaged" sectors of society. Hell, it doesn’t matter what your skin color is, if you are a solid, self sufficient and beneficial member of society these days, you will be taxed, persecuted and held accountable for the piss poor decisions and actions of the so called "disadvantaged" sectors of society.

  • My kids are black, solid 3.6GPA students, not disadvantaged and I will be paying out of my BUTT for college. However, if they were fatherless or their mother wasn't skilled they could dip there hand in the pot diversity money from the govt. Chit my wife and I tried to hard to live the american DREAM! I don't except excuses from my kids - their job is LEARNING - PERIOD!

  • All of you dumb fucks are like kids. Arguing! You are so worried about who did what, and what color did what, that you are too fucking dumb to realize that they want us to divide ourselves. To kill a community, just turn people against each other. Live life, it short and 382738279283 ways to die. Fuck the stupid shit you fucking morons. Stop whining and move on with your pathetic lives.People have aids, cancer, starvation, and you are debating about some extraneous bullshit. Idiots

  • @CALICOTV301 you're a racist.

  • The father of the cell phone is Martin Cooper who first demonstrated the technology in 1973.

  • if being proud of my race means I'm a racist then I guess Im, SO whats that make anyone that is proud of there race by the way Im not white Im tan only white man I ever saw was Michael Jackson

  • @misfitt58 You are ignorant. Blacks invented a lot of things we use today. Such as your precious cell phone, gas mask, fountain pen, the elevator, clothes dryer, and many others. Maybe you should research before you speak.

  • @blackknight2013 sorry but you are so wrong the cel phone works because a actress by the name Greta garbur invented the system that let cel phone work you dumb ass, it was a system that let signal jump from one to the other it was designed for torpedo use check it out and George t simson just got a better pat in 1892 the close drier he didnt invevent it.. m. pochon did in 1799 in france get our facts right.

  • @misfitt58 Its CELL not CEL. And your the dumb ass for saying black people only invented rap and peanut butter. Blacks invented 100's of things we use today. You are ignorant and unlearned.

  • @blackknight2013 its go eather way dickweed go type cel see what ya get, Dam make a mole hill out of something so small , is that the best you have unlearned whatever, you just don't like the fact someone calls you on your bullshit, there is nothing you can say that I cant find who and when in was made,

  • @misfitt58 do a web search(cant say the g-word) for "black invention myths" and click the first link

  • @blackknight2013 and the fountian pen you dumbass was around before black even learned to write.(953) ad.. the 1st pat,was in 1636 in Germany, and the gas mask , alexander von homboldt in 1799and the Elevator you idiot was the romans around 236 bc.. dam your a fucking Idiot

  • @misfitt58 DUMB ASSSS!!! fountain pen: W. B. Purvis. FOUNTAIN PEN!!! Alexander Miles the ELEVATOR SHAFT not a pulley system retard. Garrett Morgan invented the Morgan Safety hood which is the gas mask.

  • @blackknight2013 Dr. George Grant in 1899? No!

The first reference to what seems to be a fountain pen appears in an Arabic text from 969 AD; details of the instrument are not known. A French "Bion" pen, dated 1702, represents the oldest fountain pen that still survives. Later models included John Scheffer's 1819 pen, possibly the first to be mass-produced; John Jacob Parker's "self-filling" pen of 1832; and the famous Lewis Waterman pen of 1884 (US Patents #293545, #307735)

  • @blackknight2013

Steam-powered hoisting devices were used in England by 1800. Elisha Graves Otis' 1853 "safety elevator" prevented the car from falling if the cable broke, and thus paved the way for the first commercial passenger elevator, installed in New York City's Haughwout Department Store in 1857. The first electric elevator appeared in Mannheim, Germany in 1880, built by the German firm of Siemens and Halske.

  • @blackknight2013 Alexander Miles in 1887? No!

Was Miles the first to patent a self-closing shaft door? No! A self-closing shaft door was invented by J.W. Meaker in 1874 ("Improvement in Self-closing Hatchways," US Patent No. 147,853)

  • Henry T. Sampson in 1971? No!

On July 6, 1971, Sampson and co-inventor George Miley received a patent on a "gamma electric cell" that converted a gamma ray input into an electrical output (Among the first to do that was Bernhard Gross, US patent #3122640, 1964). What, you ask, does gamma radiation have to do with cellular communications technology? The answer: nothing. Some multiculturalist pseudo-historian must have seen the words "electric" and "cell" and thought "cell phone."

  • @blackknight2013 The cell phone wasn't invented by "blacks". Dr Martin Cooper, a white male is responsible for inventing the cell phone.

Where in the hell are you getting your lies from?

  • See this is what I always say if a white man tries to help the white race he is a racist,, why do we not have a white histroy month, or a white only tv chanel or the NAAWP because they are racist,,HUM I think june or august should be white history month they are named after white men,, tell me didnt white men invent ,,the car , motorcycle,, mico chip space fiight, production lines, penocilion, heart translant, so on and so on,,wait the black man invented rap and peanutbutter

  • If Blacks want to complain about what they don't get then go back to your motherland..

  • This negro is full of shit!

  • Who suggested this idea? Scholarships should be based on grades alone. Not color.

  • @Parkourpurist89 The problem with doing that is that then all the scholarships would end up going to only Asians and whites, which shouldn't be a problem, but people would cry racism.

  • @bassman5123 Hence why we can't have nice things

  • How about we just base scholarships on grades alone?

  • As a white dude cmon.......we don't need scholarships. In fact, we don't need to have anything that's requirements involve being white. White people are denied nothing and unfortunately we think that every race will be treated the same.

  • White people have things so easy. The fact that things like affirmative action should be enough proof. White people just need to get over themselves.

  • perhaps we should institute some "affirmative action" in the nba, equal play time equal amount of blacks and whites, equal pay, etc. or do blacks only want "affirmative action" when it suits them?

  • Comment removed

  • @blackknight2013 the same can be said about everything that affirmative action gets applied to. if you can't see that, then YOU'RE the idiot.

"If you are good you play" "Race has nothing to do with the it" but affirmative action outside the nba is the opposite? you fail.

  • @JimyRoss No because sports is not considered public occupation. That's why there is no law about race in the NBA. Affirmative action is not applied to SPORTS.Blacks were not ordered by law to get playing time. You used a bad analogy. I agree with you that action is affirmative not really needed but you cant use sports as an analogy.

  • Comment removed

  • @Schoolyou1 No there were not. The Rooney rule is considered affirmative action and that is in the NFL. Because many teams refused to hire a black coach.

  • Comment removed

  • @blackknight2013 Bullshit! Sports is a great analogy, only he did it wrong. Here's a better one. The NBA is comprised of about 90% tall black men. But to level the playing field, let's put in a bunch of short Hispanics, Asians, whites. Now if this happened it would be met with statements, like "well, if tall black men are the best at basketball that's just the way it is. Deal with it." Well, that same logic should apply to doctors, lawyers, firemen, etc. If whites are the best, so be it!

  • @bassman5123 Listen you stupid, ignorant, incest-driven, cousin kissing, pig screwing hick. The NBA is the best of the best. Owners pay millions to the best players. So you gonna tell an owner they have to play someone cause of a color? NO!!!!! That takes away from the game. The fact is that white people are in the NBA and so are Asians and Hispanics. If they arent good they dont play bottom line.Affirmative action was needed because people werent hired because of their skin color and not skill.

  • Tell him brotha!

  • God that white male is ugly.

    LOL

  • @DebbyInStKitts p.s. who said i was white? you're just an ignorant brain damaged racist. your words are meaningless.

  • @Schoolyou1 LOL

Yeah, my words are so "meaningless" you've not only responded to them TWICE on this thread but posted more of ur crap to my inbox on another video. LOL

Retarded lunatic white - U couldn't be ANYTHING else but white. Banging on about all U "invented" whilst you sit there struggling to type out your own language. LOL...now if you've nothing better to do freak, go shove one up your sister's back passage. I understand that's normal practice for those of your condition. LOL

  • @DebbyInStKitts as you sit here on a computer invented by a white man.

  • @DebbyInStKitts you're pathetic d=P

  • I have to say the brothas in the US are the most intelligent the world over by FAR. Boy do they need to be living among those devils.

  • @DebbyInStKitts devils? thats nice

  • I wish whites would separate themselves across the board especially in the Caribbean.

  • Comment removed

  • @Schoolyou1 What are you talking about white lunatic. 1. There's ONLY ONE world white lunatic. Secondly I don't live among you lunatic white freaks. Who in their RIGHT mind would. Why don't YOU try slashing your wrists. I promise, you'll enjoy that.

  • @DebbyInStKitts <--- umad LOL

  • @DebbyInStKitts as you sit here on a computer invented by a white person. LOL you're a tool.

  • This video actually made me think more than I expected. On one hand, I have to disagree with the "black dude", that there shouldn't be ethnically oriented scholarships (the "white dude" was trying to make a point about the whole ethnic scholarship thing using irony), scholarships should be given to whoever qualifies for them. However, black people (and others) do tend to get the short end of the stick, and hence I think there should be separate support programs for the underprivileged.

  • this is such a wonderful idea--white scholarships for whites, the only problem I do see is that these scholarships need to be open also to white women; white folks who can afford it help pay for poor whites education==excellent, excellent idea :)

  • Colby, did you notice that the professor was puzzled when you said you were working and going to school? Brothers can't do both at the same time.

  • Comment removed

  • "White folks", "whiteness". Are you sure you are a professor?

  • Why do we still hate each other depending on our skin colour? Some blacks may think that the whites "owe" them for the slave trade, but the whites that live today had fuck all to do with it and the blacks that live today were not slaves. So what the fuck do we "owe" you?

  • @ScootezZ "Some blacks may think that the whites "owe"

Only the people who obviously benefited on that 400 years of slavery. That's mostly your typical, mega rich families that have been here since this country began.

"but the whites that live today had fuck all to do with it"

White racists and again, the mega rich.

"blacks that live today were not slaves"

Now the obviously corrupted capitalism and the sick corporate pigs taking part in fucking up the economy on the other hand...

  • Only white males? Why not females and anyone of European-descent (those who are part white). Hypocrisy bullshit, If it extends to that and it's not coming from racists pro-whites, then I am fine with it.

  • @Tetzukai The reason it is for males it because white males have less opportinues than a white female. A female has a better chance to get a scholarship based on the fact that she is a female. And it was not coming from racists. The only racist I saw was the so called professor that kept talking about white folks and whiteness. Females have their group of supporters, blacks have their group of supporters. And its okay for them to do that, but if a white male stands up then they are racist. BS

  • @rocketanko2 "A female has a better chance to get a scholarship based on the fact that she is a female."

I know that and to be honest scholarships like that are stupid, but then this particular scholarship isn't really race-based then as inplied.

  • "And it was not coming from racists."

I'm not accusing anyone of racism. I'm just saying if it is rooted, then nay. Not everyone simply gives money to people out of sympathy but only for their silly, political agenda, and it's silly to be that naive, regardless.

  • You're seem to be instigating something that isn't called for in that last quote, rocketanko2 because I don't know why you would mention that to me as if I am too simple-minded to see the comparison...

  • @Tetzukai racist white supremacist and not just "pro-whites" then thats racism against whites

  • @kissemurra12 Can you paraphrase, please?

  • this is a damn shame, after all this time some of us still hate each other, and because of stupid shit. I wish that it wasnt this way, but it is. I thought it was worse back in the day, but i see its far worse than back then. i mean some people hate over any little thing. Why cant we just live together without bashing each other.yes, there have been many mistakes that have been made against one another, but we can move foward from this and just try to enjoy the life that you were given. peace!

  • @cube2617 It is frustrating. Fact is, it will never be over, because people tend to get more and more sensitive about these things OVER time.

  • @kaythchan You are right, it is frustrating. I can only hope that it will get better with the next generation, if there is a next generation. God help us all if the world comes to an end! Take care my friend.

  • I went to work at crappy jobs while they all got free college education & room & board , ,,, how is that fair where is my advantage for bieng white dumbass go to a library & research money for college ,,, ppl protest if my race gets college money

  • There are 7 times more poor white kids then any other race , to just say bc my skin is white I have advantages is just plain ignorant I had 3.2 gpa & could not get money for college my family didn't have money & my friends who were Asian black & Hispanic even though there parents made more money they got plenty a scholarships & financial aid

  • @BigTW707 "There are 7 times more poor white kids then any other race ,``

You don't say? Where did you get this information?

  • ALWAYS the RACE card comes out, always EXCUSES, you get tired hearing, or reading it.Let's always blame my woes on the white guy. Give it a rest.

  • "I am against scholarships that exclusively target white males."

not just whites, but white males. this makes him racist, and sexist.

  • This kind of thing actually exists in the 21st century? This is no different than giving post-bailout bonuses to CEOs of investment banks, you're helping a privileged group. Glad I don't live in America, where this kind of idiocy is advocated.

  • Comment removed

  • i like how they used an asian reporter to act as a buffer to seem impartial, white people, look out for your own, hire within your race, and dont fall victim to white guilt,if blacks were in power they would treat us much worse, ever been to a mostly black neighborhood?or just outnumbered in public?let the black man fight his own battles, and support white causes,i hope to see more all white programs and organizations, then we can get back to a white way of life without being called racists

  • The largest percentage of the population in poverty are white. Just sayin'.

  • @DrOctopusBJJ Source?

  • haha, you cant take this seriously, why you may ask? because immediately after this story was a story about charlie sheen and his tweets bahaha

  • This was just a poorly conducted interview on an already tense subject. The white guy gets repeatedly interrupted, they only give the black guy one chance to offer his input, and by the ending it's clear MSNBC is for the white only scholarships.

For richer or poorer, everyone's experiencing problems. We all have our versions of the ghetto, we all have financial instability, we're all dealing with high gas prices and a tough economy. Banks in particular discriminate against everyone. My thoughts.

  • @FilthyItai you dont combat perceived racial inequality with actual racial inequality. thats like saying "i think blacks are racist, so im gonna go commit a hate crime against blacks." its absolute stupidity.

  • @Schoolyou1

Racial inequality isn't a two way thing. Racial inequality dictates that whites are substantially better off in all walks of American life as a group due to a system of oppression that they force on black people. The only way you can bring about racial equality is to restrict white privilege that whites only have at the expense of blacks being disadvantaged. It's unjust for whites to have more privilege in society that they do not deserve.

  • Comment removed

  • lol Your average Afro-American has 25-30 Euro DNA.

  • 1:16 "Being white itself is a form scholarship. White people have access to schools in ways that black people don't." Professor Lamont is a racist, plain and simple. Re-read the quote but change white to black and black to white and imagine if a white professor said it. The white professor would probably get fired.

  • @jrvenice1999

Well it would never happen where the words were changed around from white to black and black to white, because whites have a much easier time getting into schools than blacks due to the reality of a society that embodies institutional racism that both disadvantages blacks and advantages whites.

  • these were all middle income jobs$25-$35 an hr,high income jobs are out of most black peoples realm because they cant interact on that level without "chimping out"affirmative action gives jobs to undeserving candidates it does not level the playing field,it is biased and blacks already feel like they should get a free ride, whites need to form more programs to offset this discrimination, white people are getting fed up

  • but on the flipside if whites bring up the debate of draining the welfare system, blacks will argue just as many whites are on welfare.which is it?bottom line when whites try to form an exclusive organization or program to better themselves it is percieved as racist.

  • wow

  • It's 2012 and we're still stuck on this racist shit.

  • that black guy was spouting racist garbage

  • I don't think there is anything wrong with this. There are millions of poor white kids that don't have access to higher education. Dr Hill seems to think that being born white is like winning the lottery. There are thousands of ethnicity based scholarships, but if you try to create a tiny scholarship that barely pays for books, you're a racist.

  • @christo930

White people have a much easier time gaining entrance into universities based on the colour of their skin over black people. Of course there are lots of poor white people. But if you look at the populations of whites and blacks respectively, a much larger proportion of blacks come from low income families. Also, blacks face racial prejudice on a day to day basis that has nothing to do with their financial situation, but based on the colour of their skin.

  • @FilthyItai Even if that is entirely true, does that mean that there shouldn't be scholarships for poor white people, just like there are scholarships for poor blacks, asians, Hispanics and many european (meaning you have to be German or English etc) ones, but that most white people can't apply because they are not entirely German or English etc. There are large inner-city (and rural) white communities where it's just as difficult to get into college as a black.

  • @christo930

Christo930, that IS entirely true, actually go and look up articles for yourself instead of believing in all this rhetoric claptrap that racist whites (and some blacks) like to spread. I will never be wrong because I have facts on my side, that I am choosing not to ignore. Actually, it will never be "just as difficult" for whites to get into college as a black due to a system set in place that thrives on the institutional discrimination of black people.

  • @FilthyItai

The only way it could ever be just as difficult for whites to get into college as blacks is if we like in a society that is racially equal. Even if a white and a black were to come from a same financial background, the poor black person is still denied certain privileges that poor white people enjoy. Affirmative action is brought in to restrict white privilege that whites A. do not need and B. do not deserve, to a point where there is racial equality in society.

  • @FilthyItai There are white kids who aren't a specific ethnicity, can't afford even community college, aren't athletic and aren't eligible for academic scholarships, but still college material. We are talking about a $1000 scholarship here, whereas black children have the UNCC and literally 10s of thousands of scholarships for blacks only and you think this is fair? You think this $1k scholarship is going to put black kids at risk or something?

  • @FilthyItai There is so much rhetoric on both sides that I have no idea if it is entirely true or not, however, I can tell you that being white isn't a ticket to easy street. There are white people in unimaginable poverty, especially in Appalachia and in our large cities. In the case of the cities, the poor blacks and poor whites are going to the same school, live in the same poverty, have broken homes and all of the problems that toxic mix entails.

  • @christo930

Christo930, how many times do I have to repeat myself? I never said being white is an easy ticket to being rich. All I'm saying is that whites have substantially more privileges than blacks in regards to both economic AND social factors. Racial inequality is NOT reducible to economics. Blacks face disadvantages in many social areas that have nothing to do with how much money they earn, which play into gaining acceptance in universities.

  • @FilthyItai I am not making the argument that you think I am making. I am saying that there is a need for help for poor white kids, this tiny scholarship is really just a symbol and a political statement. What is intrinsically wrong with wanting to help poor white children pay for college?

  • @christo930

Yes you are. I assumed by your statements you're saying that because there are lots of poor whites, then the idea of affirmative action for just one race should be eliminated because poor whites go through the same hardship as poor blacks? It is not wrong to help poor children. It is not wrong to help black children. It is VERY wrong however to exclusively help only poor white children. If you want to have AA for people of low income, I have no problem with that.

  • @FilthyItai

It is wrong because we live in a society where racial inequality is very apparent and is not based solely on economic factors. Let me repeat an important point: RACIAL INEQUALITY IS NOT SOLELY BASED ON ECONOMIC FACTORS. Blacks face a lot of disadvantages that has nothing to do with their economic situation, along with as a group of people economically worse off as well. Now if you understand that, you will realise there is nothing wrong for giving scholarships exclusively to blacks.

  • @FilthyItai When did I bring up AA? There are 10's of thousands of scholarships for minorities only. Why is it OK to set up, privately funded scholarships for minorities, but not generic white people? You do know that there are thousands of German, Irish, Italian scholarships etc, right? BUT, most white Americans have lost their ethnic identity through intermarriage and are generic "white people" and there is no help for them, other than academic or athletic scholarships.

  • @christo930 So what happens when a poor white kid is college material, but not academically gifted enough to get an academic scholarship? How do we help these poor kids? They are not statistics, they are human beings. Is this $1k scholarship going to hurt black kids?

  • @christo930

I thought AA was sorta the point of this video and comments section? Even with AA, white people still have 99.75% of scholarships to choose from. So you can't really argue that minority scholarships take away much opportunities from whites. Even with those 0.25% of scholarships to minorities, they NEVER get completely filled anyway. So your argument just doesn't stand.

  • @FilthyItai

Even if they did take away opportunites from whites (which they pretty much don't do), that is the idea of affirmative action, because whites have too much opportunity at the expense of blacks having hardly any. Affirmative action is brought in to fix this inequality of opportunity.

  • @FilthyItai I never said it took away from whites, I simply said that there are other ethnic based scholarships which nobody has a problem with, including many scholarships for kids of specific European ethnicities, but not any for mixed europeans, aka, generic white. I am made up of at LEAST 3 different european peoples and therefor would not qualify for any of the specific European scholarships.

  • @FilthyItai When did I say any of this? The video is not about AA. AA is a government policy, we are talking about a privately funded scholarship of $1k I am not arguing that having minority scholarships hurts white people, I am saying that if it isn't immoral to have ethnic scholarships for any ethnicity, why is it wrong for generic whites?

  • @christo930

There isn't really much more I can say on this subject with you without repeating myself a thousand times. If you chose to actually acknowledge the racial inequality that surrounds you and stopped walking round with your eyes closed, you would realise that everytime you oppose affirmative action for minorities, you choose to fuck minorities up the arse even more.

  • @FilthyItai Can you please quote from one of my comments where I come out against affirmative action? We are talking around each other. You are talking about AA and I am talking about a single $1k scholarship for people who are generic whites. The only thing I want to know is why it is bad to target poor white children to give them the financial ability to attend college.

  • @christo930

Sorry I must have got you mixed you up with someone else as I was defending my stance on affirmative action previously with someone who was against affirmative action for blacks. First off, it is not immoral to have a blacks only scholarship, but it is immoral to have a white only one. Blacks are denied certain opportunities enough as it is without also adding a whites only scholarship on top of it.

  • @FilthyItai

The reason why black only scholarships exist is to give more opportunities to blacks in a society where they are given significantly less opportunities in blacks. By giving out black only scholarships, you restrict white privilege that thrives off the lack of opportunities that would benefit black, in order to move towards a society that offers everyone the same opportunities in life. By giving out a whites only scholarship, all you do is increase the amount of white privilege and

  • @FilthyItai That sounds all nice, but you want a monopoly on that ability. I would love for you to one day have to walk up to a poor white kid and tell him that you think nobody should be able to help him. It doesn't matter that his parents are dirt poor,it doesn't matter that he simply does not have the financial resources to go to college, and most of all, you want to actively install barriers to keep anyone from helping them, even if it's only $1000.

  • @FilthyItai Now we get to the heart of the situation, you're a racist. If a white kid is poor, fuck em, let him live in poverty for the rest of his life, but if a black kid is poor and wants to go to college, then we should give him a black only scholarship. If black adults want to pool their resources to help poor black children, that is good, if white people want to pool their resources and help poor white children, that is bad. I got it now.

  • @christo930

You're completely misrepresenting my arguments. I've already stated quite a few times that poor whites should be able to receive scholarships too (they can apply for 99.75% of them, and the other 00.25% which are offered only to minorities are never filled). They should be able to apply for scholarships that are only open to anyone from a poor background, white or black, to tackle economic inequality. Black scholarships are different and they are there to target racial inequality.

  • @FilthyItai There is more than one type of inequality in the world. Class inequality is alive and well. There are privileged white kids who need no help and I really couldn't care less about them, there are also privileged black kids who need no help, and I couldn't care less about them either. The gov,, in all it's wisdom, has created a situation where a single marijuana arrest cuts you off from all gov aid. I used to work at a drug treatment center and I saw many white kids (cont)

  • @christo930 (cont)(late teens, early twenties) who couldn't get any gov assistance and were stuck. If we had scholarships that target poor white kids, this wouldn't be such a big problem (and the problem is much larger than you think). I also saw "kids" without a drug arrest completely barred from higher education because of lack of funding. I think that any scholarship to help anyone is a good thing.

  • @christo930

I agree that there is class inequality. I have said that a thousand times with you already in this discussion but you are choosing to ignore it. I have read through your comments in full and had the common courtesy to reply to your statements made, but you haven't with me, as is shown in your last comments. Newsflash: whites have 99.75% of scholarships to choose from in the US. They almost always go to whites due to racial injustice. Case closed.

  • @FilthyItai you're the one crying, you figure it out. 1 racial inequality + 1 racial inequality= 2 racial inequalities. they dont equal zero, they dont cancel each other out, they only divide races further. two wrongs don't make a right, most people learn that when they are 5. if blacks want to end racial inequality then they need to stop instituting their own forms of racial inequality.

  • @FilthyItai First of all, can you demonstrate that a disproportionate amount of scholarships go to poor white kids than poor black kids? Remember,we are talking about all white kids, we are talking about poor white kids.

  • @christo930

I find it very ironic that you label me a racist, despite the fact that all I am striving for is for all people, black or white, to have the same opportunities. Black only scholarships exist to tackle this inequality of opportunity. Whereas you want to support a system in place that gives more opportunities to whites at the expense of blacks. You do not feel that blacks deserve the same opportunities that white people enjoy. So YOU, my friend, are the racist. Truth hurts.

  • @FilthyItai It's not irony, it's real, you are a racist. You want a system where it's illegal, or at least that there is much pressure that nobody will do it, for a scholarship to target poor white kids. This is $1k scholarship and it's on national cable news! Meanwhile, there are multi-million dollar endowment funds for helping black kids, but that isn't newsworthy.

  • @christo930

I am against scholarships that exclusively target white males. I know you don't want to admit it, but it's a fact that whites males are the privileged group in society and have substantially more opportunities, due to the system of oppression that is imposed on blacks and females. Blacks and females have less opportunities in society, so that is why there are scholarships exclusively targeted at them.

  • Another excuse, boo hoo, boo hoo.

  • @FilthyItai This is where you are wrong. There is subset of white kids that enjoy a privileged place in society, and poor white kids aren't in that group. This is the part you don't get. There are white people who have virtually no chance in life without help, and when someone wants to help, even a tiny bit, they get on national TV and are made to look like some kind of racist. What about all of the wealthy black families? They enjoy privilege just aa much as wealthy whites.

  • @christo930

White males can still apply for 99.75% of them. So there are systems in place that largely benefit white males, even with government run AA programs. So you have absolutely no right to complain as these scholarships almost always go to white males. I don't understand how you think it's fair and just that blacks are limited in their opportunities and how you want to take away even more from them by restricting them from yet another scholarship (even if it is only $1000).

  • @FilthyItai tell your black president that he is underprivileged and oppressed. moron

  • @Schoolyou1 Just because there is a (half) black president that means that no black person can ever be poor and underprivileged? That's just faulty logic my friend. Go take a walk down south-central LA

  • @MightyKingYoung it means his "all white people are racist" argument is seriously flawed.

  • @Schoolyou1 Did you even watch the video? He said he's against scholarships for whites only because whites are already a priveledged group. The word racist or racism wasn't used in the video.

  • @FilthyItai You are SO wrong. Most kids of any color can't apply for 99.75% of scholarships, especially when you do it in a monetary bases (there are 10's of thousands of scholarships under $100). Many scholarships are for specific ethnicities, many are academic with high academic requirements and many are athletic. This idea you have that all white kids have access to 99.75% of scholarships, especially by dollar, is insane! If you are against white scholarships, don't donate to one.

  • @christo930

take away more opportunities for blacks where they have little enough as it is.

  • @FilthyItai i was passed up at the US post office and Waste Management, not because of my test scores or ability but because i am white, then tried and tried to get a job at MSD when i asked a supervisor how can i get a job there,he told me"you cant you are not black" now everytime i see a sanitation or postal worker i cant help but notice that 9 out of 10 are black, affirmative action needs to be stopped

  • @TabCrusher

Oh no....really? You got turned down a few times because of your race? Now imagine what that's like to be a black person where they face discrimination for the vast majority of jobs that they apply for. It's not really that bad for you, because there are hundreds of other places you can go to apply for a job. Black people are much morel limited in where they can get a job due to the institutional racism apparent in society.

  • @TabCrusher

"everytime i see a sanitation or postal worker i cant help but notice that 9 out of 10 are black, affirmative action needs to be stopped"

Ever notice how high and middle income paying jobs are almost always occupied by whites? Ever notice how black people are significantly underrepresented in the vast majority of high income paying work areas ? Moron...

  • @FilthyItai that can easily be attributed to whites being the majority race in america, and not your "all whites are just racist" argument.

  • @christo930

Ok. So i've established why it's important to have black only scholarships, because of their lack of opportunities compared to whites. I agree that scholarships should be given out to people of lower incomes as well. However I have a big problem with scholarships that are exclusive to white people. If you;re going to have a scholarship for people of lower income, make it open to people of any race, because you are addressing people's financial situation, not their race.

  • @FilthyItai "So i've established why it's important to have black only scholarships"

"If you;re going to have a scholarship for people of lower income, make it open to people of any race"

can you see how you contradict yourself here?

  • @FilthyItai saying its ok for blacks but not ok for whites is racist. you are racist.

  • 25% caucasian? This is not far off S African Boer ideology (calculating mathematically if someone was racially 'pure' or not). It is pure bad faith to pretend not to understand the burden of prejudice against different ethnicities which requires efforts in the direction against affirmative action. I also noticed all the scholarships for say Latin American single mothers and so on when searching for means to finance my post grad studies but I didn't sit around whining I raised the money working.
