Actually the truth is they depicted Anne Boleyn as she was throughout history, Anne was married to the king, and Mary Boleyn was his mistress. Anne was executed on two charges of adultery and incest, each of which were in this movie. Though Anne did not force king Henry to marry her he did tear apart his country only to rebuild it. So I say, this movie was an interesting twist on one wife of the six.
Uh, yeah. What you've got right there is the bare bones of the whole story. Mary never "testified" for Anne, Anne never even dreamed of having sex with her brother, Mary was the older sister, Anne was never raped, Mary's promiscuity was frowned upon, etc., etc. This movie was just a Hollywood glamorization of what really happened, which was much less melodramatic. Anne has virtually no depth of character in this film as well, and that was what made the movie EPIC FAIL in my eyes.
Hippodameia- you should read the book. it's really good. I thought almost the same thing you did until I read the book by Phillipa Gregory. It's a whole lot more accurate than the movie.
Hahahaha, LOL!! This was pretty damn funny. Natalie Portman & Scarlett Johansson delivered some great performances in this movie.
