  • Whoever dislikes this should be loaded in those cannons

  • gah my intrert frozen again...got to relogin my other acc....(rogankiwifruit)

  • all brasses

  • I hope my neighbors down the street like this piece.

  • @CofCpreacher lol

  • boom

  • play this song in the British Parlament and enjoy :D

    *trollface*

  • @DNatz369 silly thing: it was written as an 'in your face" by Russia to France

  • Isn't there an arrangement of this that places the first cannon shot around 5:13?

  • The original 1812 ovwrture included cannons, church bells , fireworks and

    a large chorus

  • Does anyone else think that this sounds a bit like the French national anthem?

  • @MrWojciech95 Yes, there is a fragments from La Marseillaise in this overture. It symbolize victories of French army at the first days of the 1812 war.

  • @MrWojciech95 some part it is,coz its about Napoleonic wars

  • Those 34 that unlike the video that only Listens to RNB and NOOB RAP they don't even know when Music came from.

  • @subaru12momoy - Uh, John Lennon is where "music" came from.

  • And that's a big IN YOUR FACE to all of you who thought classical music was boring. Just imagine live performances of this. Fortunately, there have been few casualties in recent years from this piece. Carnegie Hall had to be renovated in 2003 after this piece was performed and the percussion section got a bit carried away.

  • This has been my favorite recording of the 1812 since I first heard it in 1988 None better

  • Reduce your volume? Of course not!

  • @VlaamsArdennees LOL are you listening with headphones? I tried that. OUCH.

  • well, the 34 people who don't like this are either deaf or French, and can't stand that they lost the war!

  • Maybe Mr.CozyPowell Drumsolo used this music !

  • Opened a new tab to do other things, didnt realize cannon fire was coming before it was too late.

  • the cannon fire did not rip my hifi, but my wifi, that's another story :D

  • DANCE OF THE SUGERPLUM FAIRIE :D randomness 101

  • "Kindly reduce your volume by 30% now!" Uh, no. Cannons need to be louder. The reason I choose to listen to this recording is because it has the best cannons of any version of this piece I've ever heard.

  • Thank goodness I actually watched the stillness of the picture to get the note about the cannons.

  • The 34 people who disliked should be shot out of those cannons

  • @utsukushiiAkari agree!!!!

  • So i just played the part at 5:10 and blew up like a huge area in minecraft.....it was so awesome it broke minecraft....

  • I wonder how firing all of the cannons right after one another to finish would've sounded

  • - Sounds like a good night in the Civil War reenacting world... ;)

  • I cant believe young people do not see the magnificent work of the classics im 13 and i love it

  • @BaseballGeneral How can you go wrong with something that had cannons written in as instruments?

  • @BaseballGeneral Exactly the same here. They are just ignorant and they think it is 'uncool' to like classical music.

  • I think this should be renamed as The Copulation Ritual.

  • So amazing, i love this piece! I wish I could be the conductor, I would probably have seizure it that great!

  • Turn it down? The hell would I turn it down at the cannon fire!?

  • Artemis Fowl brought me here when he was going through his gold from the heist/siege.

  • So who else turned this up when the cannons came?

  • My father was the first person to get me to listen to this song. And in my book I believe to one of the most powerful songs ever to be wrote. Thank you Tchaikovsky

  • The connons are freakin perfect timing and sound, and im listening to this full blast!

  • my computer shook when the cannons came one

  • @outofhereful hahah

  • 33 people are in Napoleon's Grande Armee

  • I feel like playing bfbc2 and blowing shit up

  • I own the album on which this piece appears. Always superb!

  • first time i have hears a song with cannons in it!

  • Team Fortress 2

  • This is among the top three presentations of this piece that I have heard. It is notable that the cannon fire is in the appropriate places according to the score. Being authentic cannon they have a good sound. The pace of the piece is pleasant. Only thing missing is the choral accompaniment (as with Eric Cunzal and the Cincinnati Pops). Would like to have heard the whole thing.

  • @raridan1 In my opinion, this version has almost the best part, the cannons are awesome, but I personally felt the style of this piece being played lacks some candenzas and moods.

  • Can someone give me names and addresses of people who disliked this. I swear I'm gonna blow them up.

  • It is not the complete , just the ending.

  • Probably the reason they don't dig it is because of the loud noises and canons and bells. I guess some are sensitive to the noise. Im just glad I'm here to enjoy the great music! Thank you Mr Tchaikovsky!

  • Tchaikovsky : A composer badass / crazy enough to use cannons as a percussion piece.

  • @16cking may be that satisfact you: Chaikovsky was gomosexual

  • @16cking oh, by the way, Ural and Siberia is an origin place of white-skin human (like you or dislike - no matter).

  • @zrrew its also the birthplace of communism, ball and cup,and trololo

  • This song is amazing!! but it's even better when you have the privilege of playing it under the baton of the marine band conductor Colonel Bourgeois! OMJ might i say AMAZING <33

I don't understand how anybody could dislike this. they must be Nucking Futs!!!

  • Why the fuck is Katy Perry in the suggestions?

  • 30 people missed the like button!!

  • Bseides the Cannons howling , I like the Church Bells ring too !

  • For mother Russia! :O

  • Definately the best version I've found. I like how clear and loud the cannons are, like they should sound in the music.

  • THOSE 30 DISLIKES MUST BE FRENCH.......LOVE THOSE CANNONS

  • 30 people cant believe that the russian people added anything to culture, and that they are drunk on vodka all the time

  • Музыка тревожно-жуткая и при ятом потрясающе прекрасна

  • Portentosa ejecución, pero debería estar toda la Obertura completa, con el gran himno inicial: Dios salve a Rusia.

  • This song makes my room shake. Hehe

  • well.... I WAS tired...

  • Comment removed

  • I listened to this at full volume with my headphones on. Near the end my ear started hurting so I took the headphone out and there was blood on it, thats right, Tchaikovsky made my ears bleed! What a wonderful song!

  • for all the people saying how people are disliking this, i know why.

they were the people who died on the other side

  • edited from the 17 minute version i got...blah...grrr

  • 30 people likes reggaeton

  • I love how he uses parts of the french national anthem. Epic spit in the face

  • This is what victory sounds like!

  • and the white house burned burned burned and we're the ones who did it burned burned burned and things were very historical and president cried and ran like a baby wah wah wah in the war of 1812

  • @rvbsmcaboose do you honestly think that this beautifull song is about america? because it's not

  • Comment removed

  • @satanslegacy no now that i read the description I always thought this was for the war of 1812 but i completely forgot about napoleon invading russia

  • @rvbsmcaboose Surely the La Marseillaise was a bit of a give away that it has nothing to do with the war between Great Britain and the United States?

  • @TalesOfWar ...but hey, we got stars and stripes forever by Sousa :D

  • @rvbsmcaboose Lol, it's about the 1812 French invasion of Russia, you know, the largest military operation in history until world war 2

  • love it \m/

  • I don't know how anybody could dislike this!? And I don't know why either! Like there is nothing wrong with the video or sound quality... I just don't get it?!!?!??!?!! HOOOOOOW!?!?!??!?!!??!?!??!!???

  • @Hannaman88 I have no idea, maybe they are aliens

  • @kendconcerto maybe you have american artillerists pic in the video with the music of Tchaikovsky who composed like in commemorating Napoleon's Invasion of Russia(n Empire)

  • @kendconcerto

It's 'cuz they were in Napoleon's Army. :I

  • @kendconcerto they probably didn't turn down their speakers 30% and had their speakers destroyed before they heard the horn part at 5:20

  • @secretagentmann9 They should be shot with this cannon !

  • @Hannaman88 It's a good recording, although the intonation isn't perfect at all times, and maybe they didn't like the tempo or something.

  • @Hannaman88 easy, they're part of the newest generation that like that pop shit and only shitty pop! XD

    I'm not a classical's guy and I love this!

  • @Hannaman88 Because for some this is to big, they need something more stupid so they can understand it.

  • @Hannaman88

Tchaikovsky himself disliked it, so anything is possible. Its about the only piece of his that I do like. Used to listen to it all the time as a kid.

  • @Hannaman88 they are french people??

  • @Hannaman88 It's not a video, it's a picture, and i have only one thing to say about the french (agincourt)

  • @Blackcountry7777 sacrebleu, rien de plus récent?

  • @Hannaman88 mayb napoleon madded 32 accs ^^

  • @Hannaman88 Maybe they was shot by the cannons.

  • @Hannaman88 Tchaikovsky himself actually hated this piece of Music. I'm not agreeing with him at all, but really he himself hated it...

  • @b0n3z3z Plz provide proof for your statement, intrigue

  • @b0n3z3z What didn't he hate? lol

  • This is fantastic! THEE best version I have ever heard of the composition.

  • @Hannaman88 Listen from 0:25. You'll hear some flat notes from a trumpet... Maybe that's an explanation.

  • I only listen to this for john crichton and 1812, FARSCAPE ALL THE WAY!

  • After listening to this most of the morning my ears are about ready to kill me, but I have no regrets! :)

  • 29 don't know how it is being in a battle war

  • Tchaikovsky: You know what this song needs? CANNONS!!

  • Napoleon has today 29 grand-grand-grandsons

  • awwww :')

  • Viva la Napoleon.Lol.He was cool though.Amazing general and such. :))

  • @Erstaunliche8Jungen by leading his nation to the destruction?

  • The Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra is today known as the Minnesota Orchestra.

  • my band is playing this for our spring concert (or what ever concert it is)

  • MY god is this Musical Master piece Famous !!

  • I have a 1962 pressing of the stereo Dorati recording ( on the Phillips label ) and it is mixed differently to the 2007 cd pressing (Decca ); the bells are reverse-channel and the cannon sound has been 'doctored' and stereo phase-enhanced ( the 1962 LP cannon was centre panned).

Even this mono 1950's recording is another Dorati masterpiece.

    Cannon is WONDERFUL!

  • gonna use this song while charging with my squad to the enemys while airsofting!!!

  • BRACE YOURSELF! REAL CANNON FIRE IS GONNA RIP YOUR HIFI! KINDLY REDUCE YOUR VOLUME BY 30% NOW!

Bitch I turned it up! :D

  • great canons. Most powerful feeling ever is being within 5 feet of a 105 mm Howitzer as it goes off.

  • @adriencardoso hell yeah

  • @adriencardoso 28 people have lost their hifi

  • @adriencardoso hahaha, yeah!

  • @adriencardoso 30 now

  • @adriencardoso no they must be made to run though a field with this song playing while being shot at with modern day tanks and howitzers to understand the true meaning of this song

  • thumbs up if you live in Minneapolis and have seen the orchestra play.

  • Napoleon disliked this with his twenty eight profiles....

  • I hate war, especially since I was raised in an Anabaptist pacifistic belief system, but I love this piece of music, especially when done with real cannons. It's kind of sad, but without the 1812 war, we would not have this masterpiece. I wish I could find the whole full version of this performance. The beginning is especially peaceful and beautiful. I saw a live performance once with real cannons, but they were weeny little ones. This recording sounds way better!

  • @creativeplanetjanet This has nothing to do with the War of 1812. This is about the Russian victory over Napoleon's France during 1812 when they invaded Russia.

  • @TalesOfWar Ah, my bad. I really need to brush up on my knowledge of history. Thanks for pointing this out.

  • So epic.

  • When I was in Iraq, some guys in 1-82 Field Artillery got a fire-mission and some brilliant gun-bunny decided to play 1812 Overture and sync it up to the Paladin's 155MM rounds they were about to put 'downrange'. It's never been the same song since.

  • They should call the the Cannon Cocker serenade.

  • i was listening to it, then blam blam blam!!!!!! the cannons went off while on facebook and a fall back in my chair jumping back! XD it was very... suprising and hurtful because i hit my head on the wall! lololololololololololololololol and roflmao

  • v for vendetta =D

  • 5:10 best moment

  • Thank you for the warning! That was great.

  • Whoa! Ok, that was some CANONS!!! Thanks for the post, fantastic.

  • Always makes me want to start a revolution!

  • Essa música é um verdadeiro êxtase transcendental!

  • Needs more black powder cannonfire...

  • 28 French disliked

  • @wixxnelke why should french dislike??

  • @gohabsandwings

Because it was composed to celebrate their 1812 defeat at the hands of the British

  • @Schuultz

Argh, what did I write, I meant Russians.

  • Excellent to listen to via our SleepPhones. Available for worldwide shipping from mbee.co.uk

  • Really awesome.

  • remember, remember, the 5th of November....

  • Any idea which national anthem Tchaikovsky is destroyed.

Hint: French, after the invasion of Russia by Napolean.

  • Yes and just hear Jimi Hendrix destroy another "national anthem " all on his own.

None of you have a clue.

However watch Jimi "do' the Star Spangled Banner on Youtube at Woodstock.

Connect the dots if you can.

  • 5:10 is best!

  • Cannon fire and gunfire in general will always sound gay on a hifi compared to live. This must be AWSOME live :-)

  • @partya11night20 YOU BET ! ^^

  • @kendconcerto I pluged in my headphones just around 5:23 thinking that ive turned down the volume, and as soon as the cord pluged in BAM! I swore that I could still hear the cannons after ripping the headphones off My ears. X_x

  • @MultiMrsmiley awwww.....so sorry to hear that, haha.......but that's a real good canon blast, isnt ? u really cant find canons this good in other recording labels :)

  • @kendconcerto I love the cannons! :)

  • Comment removed

  • @partya11night20 Cannon fire in high-end stereos actually makes you feel that you yourself shot the cannon :P

  • @partya11night20

Then, Tchaikovsky would have loved hearing this hifi.

  • Thanks for uploading this.

i had a reel to reel copy of that I made off a record that a friend had. When Mercury released this on CD I picked up a copy and still marvel at the work the recording engineers went through to get the "perfect" canon shot.

This was made over 50 years ago, it is a remarkable recording and I recommend it to one and all (Mercury 434 360-2)

  • THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR THE WARNING!!!!!!! I had my volume the whole way up and I noticed the note just before they went off lololololol THANK GOD

  • @WenmeiC hahah

  • The finale is at 5:10

please thumbs up if you want instant access to the really fun part

  • THINKING(SOMETIMES) TOO MUCH. THE OVERTURE WAS MADE TO ENJOY NOT DISCUSS AND ARGUE WHY THE PIECE MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN COMPOSED. VERY FEW COMPOSERS HAD ANY IDEA OF THE WORLD AROUND THEM. POINT IN CASE, MOZART. ANYONE EVER SEE AMADEUS? TELL ME HE WROTE MUSIC FOR GENOCIDE....

  • What a recording! Best one I've heard of this song.
