Hearing this song all hyped up is like fingernails on a chalkboard, sorry. Check out Joe Strum's version or the one in "The Man Who Would Be King." The Red Bull version sucks all the feeling out of it.
Are you so sure? Here's some background on the song, which you might think about: "The melody is frequently played at funerals of members and/or officers of such organisations who have died or been killed in service, typically on bagpipes." This is referring to firemen & policemen. I'm sure they're not playing it like crazed chipmunks.
but this song is supposed to say what william wallace said in brave heart "You may take my life, but not my freedom, the harp represents freedom and for him to pull the chords out was to say this is mine, this is what i love most and you shall not take it. even though he was killed, it was still good because he stayed free.
In a time where we have terrorists causing us more hurt and pain, when in the pub we shouldnt let them change our ways we should be singing even louder these songs that represent the heart of free people. they may take our lives but not the songs that made us strong and led us to glory. we discarded it for these cowards. lets sing again.
i must admit as an australian whose heritage goes back to england and ireland. i love these songs. they sing of great glory and days where this songs really meant something now were too happy to exsist in a world polluted with too much political correctness where we let everyone else walk all over us. we should stand up for the cause that was and has always been fought for freedom from oppression and blind stupidity from politicians.
I think the problem is more with the audio than the singer. I've seen (or heard, rather) that happen at more than a few live shows; the vocals are almost totally drowned out by the instrumentals because of poorly balanced audio mixing or some such.
Yeah you are correct. This was recorded on a camera phone. I was amazed at the quality of this persons phone capturing video as it was. You can never capture a perfect recording of a live show with an external device like this because the sound you capture depends on where you stand, volume of the crowd, volume of the sound system, quality of the camera, etc.
the chick that came in in the whit had nice tits

yup. and actually bagpipes were a battlefield instrument. dirges are not conductive to marching or fighting

I think it should be slower, it's supponsed to be a sad song not a happy one
