Not sure if it was true but ive heard that Eubank had to be physically carried and put into the shower by Trainer Ronnie Davies the morning after this fight such was its ferocity....great fight with a tragic end.

Watching this again after 20 years is very difficult indeed;Watson's fight outside the ring dwarfed all his boxing achievements and they were amazing ones. An amazing individual and a tragic end to his career but he fought himself back...amazing

I often wondered if the beating Watson took from Mccallum in his previous fight to this was in some way to blame for what happened to him here .

I remember that none of the top middleweights would go near The Bodysnatcher till he was almost 40 yrs old - but Watson gave him a helluva battle , The KO was brutal - many feel to this day that Duff should never have let im out for that last 11th round - he went down hard and was totally out of it.

@BringerOfTheTruth Watson was unwell when he entered the ring with McCallum , he had a bout of flu and a fractured nose and his corner told him to do the wrong stuff in the fight. He`d have done better doing his counter boxing rather than chasing McCallum.

Which, at that time, was deemed the correct thing to do by Dr's and Ambulance trainers. Only now can Amb staff by pass one hospital to get to a specialised unit.

@lshannon41 - yeah chris was still pumping after the hardest fight of his life - he was amazed by watsons strength at 168 pounds - but during the run up to fight night - he qouted Mike Mccallums comment on watson when he was asked how the fight would progress Chris said " his bravery will be to his detriment " I dont blame Jimmy Tibbs for the 12th round - Watson was in worse shape against McCallum when Micky Duff sent him out for the last round.
