I am so jealous! I used to have one of these. Pretty sure it was a color classic II. I stupidly got rid of it when I was moving to melbourne, I asked around to see if any friends would want it, but nope. So, in all my infinite widsom I give it to an op shop. I got rid of so much stuff in that move, and I just never used it much. To really rub salt into my wounds it was given to me for free from a friend who missplaced a VHS tape of mine. Shame I didn't know how sought after these are.
Finding a main board for this machine is difficult. You could upgrade the board to a LC 520, 550 or 575. The older SCSI hard drives are not in production anymore. Auctions are usually the way to go in order to look for parts.
You're probably better off buying a complete computer and keeping the one you already have for spare parts.
That's a great system. The one machine on the left is an Apple Performa 630? I heard the Performa has a TV capture card? I want an Apple Color Classic, and the Apple Classic so bad, and an Apple Inage Writer II + a color ribbon for the printer. And the OS System 7.5.5 is a sweet system, which is a lot better than the System 7.5.3 OS, correct?
This is great! I love these old Macs, especially the all-in-one models. The Color Classic is pretty hard to come by, nowadays, so you're pretty lucky!
System 7.5, eh? You can download the upgrade to 7.5.5 right off Apple's website now. It requires a program to extract the floppy disk images onto a floppy disk, though.
It has the standard 4MB fitted and the RAM doubler program installed brings it up to 8MB. Maximum it can take is 10MB.
It had System 7.5 installed at the time of purchase and I found it a bit slow. The hard drive became corrupted soon after so I repartitioned it and installed System 7.1.
I re-uploaded the Color Classic with System 7.1 installed. However I figured people would still want to see this so I left it available for viewing.
