  • I was at this debate and they separated the room, libs on one side cons on the other. The problem was the con side started very quiet but the libs wouldn't stop hooting and shouting throughout. There was alcohol served for full disclosure. It ruined the debate because all the libs shouting made it hard to hear.

  • Hartmann got owned leftwing bitches!

  • @Sage80 You should have been in the audience, cause you're a reactionary idiot.

  • @darake0 What country do we invade next.; the next one that harbors, aids or abets people committed to our destruction. Citizens have a right to protection from their Republic, which is why national defense is one of the few tings constitutionally required for government to spend money on. We have wasted trillions more on entitlement programs than we have spend on national defense. Tell me, what do you think you should have to pay for, deadbeat?

  • Tell me how your right to health care works if you are the last person on earth.

  • this audience needs to shut up.

  • This is a good debate, both debaters are very intelligent.

  • So the progressive starts off by saying we have the rght to wellness and because other developed nations have recognised it, so we should? Are you serisous? What ever happened to live and let live? Oh, you have the right to life, but I can take away the product of your life, your porperty, to secure my right to wellness. That isn't taking abusng a person's right to life and liberty, no?

  • Greetings, to the bleeding heart conservatives, who think they stand on the moral high-ground, Added value is the only whayyy to grow, but this is amoral? ??

Yes, amoral; So stop trying to call the Libertarian Ideal moral, it is NOT moral- And by the same rule Socialism is also amoral. So stop saying it is immoral when it is NOT immoral. Learn what qualifies as moral, instead of echoing an idiot-rhetorician's fallacious "strawman" argument (it is bullshit, right or left).

  • The conservative and liberal models not wrong in themselves, but they are only models the application of either model does both "good" and "bad." So one can't be dogmatic. What we should do is explore how each functions and seen if the models are similar, or exactly the same (my notion). Each chooses a different scope for its protectionism, and the only difference between them, is the size of the box of protectionism. Please critique me, to provide another side to this idea-

Tom Hartmann either is lying or has never read the U.S. Constitution. Tom says America is a Democracy. America is not a Democracy! Article 4 section 4 of the U.S. Constitution says America is a Constitutional Republic! Democracies lead to dictatorships! Please research this fact. The evil ILLUMINATI / FREEMASON politicians in Washington D.C. (District of Criminals) want a world wide democracy dictatorship with their leader from Rome.

  • What do you do with people that don't want to work and expect others or the government to take care of them? I don't understand what is wrong telling people to get off their lazy asses and work for what they want instead of expecting a hand out.

  • Comment removed

  • @O2streaming You are obviously not a deep thinker since you can't even answer my questions. Do you deny that there are people that take advantage of the system? I work and pay taxes and don't use excuses. I definitely don't think it's the governments job to support me.

  • @PsychLion ..'read' a little closer...or remain a simple-minded fool, happy in your delusion.

  • Comment removed

  • @PsychLion You don't understand because you have been deceived by the "strawman" argument you keep repeating. But you don't know that you are doing it, because you don't know what the strawman argument is about, nor do you even know, why you are repeating the same fallacious "strawman" over and over...now its just laughable, I told you to read a little closer, but that was being kind-

  • @O2streaming Something tells me you are far from being kind. You have been nothing but a jerk who thinks he knows it all. So I'm done trying to even communicate with you. You give bloodsuckers the money you have worked for, and see where it gets us.

  • @PsychLion You are such a victim- what, just because you believe in a simple "strawman fallacy," which is the Religion of the idiot 'right,' and I reveal your error?.No that doesn't make me a jerk, that makes you the victim of your right-wing ideology. I was kind, I tried to warn you that the argument has failed- But you insisted on repeating the same argument, you did not even think about it, nor did you discover, why the argument had failed- you are not thinking- you are mindless-echo.

  • @O2streaming I am not a right winger at all. I actually consider myself Libertarian. But I want you to answer my question. What would you do with all of the people on welfare and people who rely on the Government, you and me, to support them?

  • Comment removed

  • @PsychLion Arrrgha! ruff! ruff! RUFF! arrrrgha! I thought I would let my dog answer your "strawman," "question begging," echo! She's really good at question begging, and begging for muffins too, of course. Think scale, or scope, or context...and discover for yourself, why we should support others and visa vie, only then can your 'moral theory' predict anything. So stop talking like a "tool," freshman or a "Young-Republican." And the last time I checked, Libertarian is Right-Wing! So WTF Man'g!

  • @O2streaming lol. You have totally proven that you are a nut job. Thank you for losing our argument, it was easier then I thought lol.

  • @PsychLion Your claiming I'm a nut job, is another fallacious response to a very deep argument. thx for being consistent, in that all of your comments and responses suffer from obvious fallacies-

  • @PsychLion Claps! around the room. Hear that, that's the sound of the 15 year-old young-republican squad, do you feel like a hero, as you echo the strawman, over and over again! You bore me...really.

  • @PsychLion OK! I'll give you one and only one clue: one of many reasons it is wrong to blame laziness is as follows: Your context for laziness covers too small an area to accomplish the task- In fact it is laziness that motivates economic success- How is it the case that, you don't know any of this?

  • @PsychLion You have repeated that you don't see why...so until you read-up on why the "Left" thinks they way they do, you will remain simply a mindless echo for R-wing sound bytes. In other words you will fail to get past the flag waving, hand clapping, grandstanding, bullshit-rhetoric- You are smart enough to know that a simple maxim 'work hard and you will make it,' is a lie. Right?

  • Look at the Religio-political forces; a religion has more collective political power than any national military force. You can hold a gun to the head and force one into submission, but you will never change the ideology of the mind within that head via violence.

  • medved is a pathetic greedy halfwit

  • Check out Thom Hartmann on the internet, radio, and TV. He’s been doing a wonderful job for many years and has written many good books. He exposes the neocons for their ME, ME, ME mentality. The truth is that WE are all in this together. Those neocons would have a laugh if I said I prefer a WE, WE, WE society. It may sound piggish but it's a philosophy of working together for our shared long-term prosperity.

  • I can't even listen to this cock knockler conservative. Son of a bitch. First thing out of his mouth is a total asshole statement. Fucker.

  • Comment removed

  • @O2streaming What Medved is calling absurd is that one person is obligated by law -- forced -- to pay for someone else's health care. Objecting to such compulsion does not make someone mentally ill, just rational.

  • Comment removed

  • @O2streaming My point -- again -- is that he wasn't attacking collective buying (as you intimate). He was attacking the idea that government ought to force one man (or woman) to pay for another's health care. If you don't believe me, listen to his comments again.

  • Comment removed

  • @O2streaming Unfortunately,I haven't read all the various threads on these pages. My guess is that the libertarians trounce you soundly and you, in response, tell them they're stupid. Guess I'll have to read to see if I'm right.

  • @shsnj ...that you will, because you don't know, until you read em! Just posted the only idea i think accounts for the economic models, in the respond box above- If you think you can handle the deep end of the pool, go for it, if not, stay here on the shallow end with kids. been fun see ya!

  • @shsnj

It is not absurd, it follows the same function as any resource- No one is an island to herself, so it is not absurd- You have repeated a failed argument, failure! And that means you are not rational either- So you are wrong twice in one statement- Better get back to logic class?

  • @O2streaming Sorry, but the burden of proof is on you to show how the state can justly -- at gunpoint, if necessary -- force someone to give up part of his income to pay for another's health care. Marxists have been trying to make that case for well over a century and have failed wretchedly, as you certainly will, too. But give it a shot ... you being a first-rate logician and all. ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @O2streaming Oh, go ahead and laugh ... or cry. Whichever better helps you maintain that stance of intellectual smugness. (Dang, If only I were as smart as the average Obama voter. Dang, dang, dang.)

  • @shsnj You certainly ARE smarter than an Obama voter, Since you did not vote for him. lol.. This is true by virtue of the fact, that his Term is only a continuation of what seems an uncontrollable, grab for more power! If that sounds good, then I'm an uber-uber-super-Rich; and if it sounds bad (too mee, and it does) then I'm only a humble American business person.

  • @shsnj You are full of it! History! aaaaagh! Is that your inane account of Socio-Ecomonic history? So, your claim is that socialism can't work, and that, that fact has been proven for a century? What planet did you fall from? For the last century the introduction of "Socialism" has prompted great prosperity, and literally saved America at least three times. Are you absolutely ignorant of 'our' world history, or you are just a Tool for for the R-Wing? Well at least your not too boring, yet.

  • @O2streaming Even if socialism "works" as you insist, it's still immoral. It takes something away from the person who has earned it and gives it to someone who hasn't earned it, and does so by force. That's wrong, even if it works. So to hell with it.

  • @shsnj I'll give you credit for trying to do better with your argument, finally! You have some criticism, of the left but I would like to hear even more, about the morality inherent, left v right, this is very interesting, It asks if there is a divine moral imperative- when you see it in this large scale function, a funny thing happens- They both trade places in a continuous and moving spiral, of exchanges, from moral to immoral, and back again, from a zero point, into what looks like infinity.

  • @shsnj No! i am not insisting that socialism works as if it is some dogma, so don't say that- You shit! what I'm insisting is that socialism is working right along side of capitalism, and with and in support of capitalism- But you don't get it- and i'm insisting that you can't prove libertarianism from a strawman fallacy.

    Shameful.

  • Holds a PhD in homeopathic medicine? HAHAHAHAAAAA. I hold a PhD in witch doctoring.

  • @newdimensionfilms Yeah, that's pretty embarrassing.

  • I don't like this as if it's entertainment. I say good for you Thom Hartman.

  • "Your right to starve if you refuse to work"....?

    This guy's a total dick!

  • Ugh. Little too much crowd participation going on here for me to watch all of this.

  • The next Great Debate - Thom Hartmann Vs. Michael Savage, I'd pay money to see that shit! lol.

  • lol @ all the Republicans calling Thom a commie, or calling him names but cannot back their statements with any facts or good arguments.

  • @ThriceThursday you're a moron if you think Medved can't argue with Hartmann. The left have no arguments. Just emotional bleetings. When it comes to dealing with facts & numbers, they start whining about social justice. don't get me started, idiot.

  • @Sage80

I was referring to the Republicans commenting on this video not Medved.

Thank you for proving my point about name calling and lack of arguments though.

    You're the best =)

  • 2 minutes for Medved and the rest for Hartmann, yep, that's fair.

  • you right wing republican politically correct corporate ass kissing nut jobs need to get a brain and stop thinking its food, if you believe all you hear from rush or any of them other punks then you MUST be the FAUX NEWS CREW...Most misinformed life forms on the planet, Thom states Facts go to politifact and check them out, oh wait republicans dont check facts they dont like doing all that work go hire an illegal immigrant and then lie about it. You republicans make me sick!

  • Michael Medmev is the one that made me conservative along with Rush Limbaugh....

  • @Tejanito And many years from now when you grow-up, you will be a Liberal, who gives a ff.

  • Hartman is an Idiot...

  • No one would have to pay the cost of an others medical care if business paid a living wage. Evil capitalist pay their workers less then what a bum can earn on the streets begging. All our issues today is due to the lack of business willing to cover their costs and trying to pass it all onto the state and tax payer. It is as if the only way these weak ass capitalist can make a profit is to cheat the consumer, employee, supplier, or tax payer.

  • Yes. I have a question for Mr. Hartmann..

Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the Communist Party?

Where's Joe McCarthy when you need him?

  • if you hate america and the dream if you hate your kids and want to bury them in debt...if you hate life and believe in killing babies,,if you hate the guy that achieves more than you,,then vote DEMOCRAT...

  • @wogdoggy

    That's pure bullshit

If you want 700 billion in tax cuts for the rich , no jobs, and to go back to 1865 then vote republican.

  • @ssaxman here goes the libtard with the liberal scream..THE RICH THE RICH THE RICH,,why not its a concept 99 percent of us can rally around,,,IF YOU ARE AN IDIOT..the top 10 percent carry the tax burden ALREADY..yet the simple liberal mind thinks he deserves more of that..did you help him earn that money?..the typical twit left of the aisle..CLUELESS

  • @wogdoggy The top 10% cumulatively pay 6.1% of the total tax. Whoever you get your information from lied..

  • @lowball420 try again the top 10 percent pay over 40 percent of our taxes..you like a good liberal thinks it belongs to you..doesnt matter whats FAIR to a liberal..how much tax should the top 10 percent pay? 80 percent of the load?..you twit.when you actually move out of mom's house and become a productive member of society..then get back to us you dolt

  • @ssaxman lol..ahhh the libearl mind,,they can solve the world's problems,,by taking it from the guys who earned it and have it.....pretty pathetic indeed

  • Comment removed

  • @wogdoggy The guys who earned it? Don't you mean stole it from the work of the proletariate. Many of the rich never earned anything, they stole it. Definately pathetic, you being a shill for the pleutocrats.

  • @maronfan twit,,like a brainwashed boob,,EVERYBODY that got it stole it..go try to get rich yourself instead of entitleing yourself to somebody's elses stuff...now thats fucking pathetic...your hippie mom must be proud

  • Comment removed

  • @maronfan lol, you have absolutely zero evidence 'many' doctors and entrepreneurs stole anything, but you definitely want to criminally steal their money. Entrepreneurs risk their capital for the sole purpose of supplying human demand, voluntarily pre-paying workers with their risked capital for their voluntary labor.

Everything should be voluntary, anyone that violates the Non-Coercion Principle should be charged as such.

  • @ssaxman blah blah blah tax cuts for the rich...you doofus...you'd buy into anything wouldnt you..the liberals have your pathetic ass actually believing you have the right to a bigger portion of someone elses success..truly pathetic,,and truly a liberal cancer to the american way of life..wake the fuck up idiot

  • @wogdoggy

You have my sympathy; however, your emotional appeal is far from sell-able. But I like the cut of your jib. And I like your name "wogdoggy."

  • Anyone who is dumb enough to debate Michael Medved is about as idiotic as they come. He is brilliant and more informed than anyone out there. Liberals crack me up that they think that anyone on their side can hold a candle to this guy.

  • @svguerin3 Thom kicked this guy's ass. He's the same as every republitard: all talking points and no substance. If you think this guy is smart then I pity your intelligence.

  • @svguerin3

Well, I guess in the spirit of charity, I could help you write a letter to the Administration services of the University that conferred your degree, because the ignorance is shameful, perhaps even criminal. And it is only fair, that you get your money back!

  • @O2streaming lol, which one, my undergraduate or graduate (one of which is an Ivy League school)? I wouldn't go there, pal. :) Save your dying liberal views for someone who does not know better, or perhaps keep them confined to those with IQs in the double-digits max. I'll stick to facts and history over demagoguery and "shock value accusations", which seems to be all that liberals have these days (although I do respect Hartmann in this debate; I think it's a good one).

  • @svguerin3 So my guess is correct-- you really should get your money back-- Since I gave no liberal view of anything, contrary to your assumption- I have only pointed out that what I hear, here, is a bunch of backslapping and grandstanding, on the idiot-right, as if Libertarianism is moral, and Socialism is immoral. This is absurd, IV League should know better!

  • @O2streaming just to clarify, I'm not a "libertarian", as I don't think libertarians have 100% moral views, and I certainly do not agree that Socialism is "immoral", as it is not; it makes things "fair and balanced and happy" everywhere - the problem with socialism is that it does not work, it does not factor in motivation and human discrepancies (Karl Marx was wrong, and it's been proven time and time again). It does nothing but causes societies to crumble. Please note the difference here.

  • @svguerin3 I'm disappointed, I thought you would keep it real, but you make a great leap to claim Marx is wrong, without explaining what he said that was wrong- I guess you are saying, that Socialism destroys society. But that claim does not show where, or how Marx is wrong, because unlike you, I have read him. Com'n, IV League you can't bullshit your way through an argument, with someone with a full understanding of the Marx-Engels 'Manifesto'? You would be surprised, if you read it.

  • @O2streaming now it's pretty clear, you're simply an avid Socialist (or Marxist - yes there is a diff), trolling the youtube political comments to make points that have been dead for decades, lol.. Good luck with all that, my friend, and just a note for the future, saying "Omg you haven't read every line of X, then you're wrong!" is not a valid argument and doesn't hold up in debates. Free tip there for ya.

  • @svguerin3 No, what is clear, is that my shit-bag-State-School-grammar has confused you- No ad hom was intended.

Marx is right on somethings wrong on others, so you are disingenuous in your claim. Fact is, the only problem facing a free market is the human element, and Marx got that part correct. 20 minutes ago I asked a friend, the managing finance analyst for F-500 USA, coincidentally IV league, about it, and she agrees that Marx's account is accurate and still holds true today. So wtf-

  • Comment removed

  • @svguerin3 Really? You retreat to a spin strategy, and twist what I said, save it for those who don't knoW better.

Here is a tip for you, don't invoke a work of history you know nothing about, and try to make some general claim, nonsense, bullshit talking point out of it. Keeping it real? Every argument you have given me is flawed, fallacious, go check it out!

  • @svguerin3 It not clear I'm a socialist, fallacy, labeling me instead of reading and responding, and then spin my claim, then end with a little pedantic insult! Thanks for the intelligent response, you have show us all how to get out of addressing an argument-

  • @svguerin3 Both of them!

  • @blackstarcraftplayaa I'm from Massachusetts, where America was started. you can't read, I clearly said OUR nation. And, at the rate we are going, it will happen. more people fall into poverty every day, and unless something changes, our economy will collapse. Try watching something other than Faux news. You might see the truth if you look for it.

  • Spend more--as long as you can count on tax payers picking up the tab

  • @ttheobald2007 Achieving a PH.D in anything is no small undertaking. His first books were on that subject, and he had a business in that field, where he has been successful. His understanding of humanity and its needs have made him the caring person he is. The well researched books he has written on American history may qualify him for another Ph.D. It would do you good to listen to his very reasoned positions.

Medved has impressive qualifications too & shilling for the right makes him money.

  • W.I.N.D? Is that 'cos he's full of hot air?

  • Hartmann is a smart dude, but you would have to listen to him to know that--instead of comparing him to your brother-in-law. WTF

  • HAHAHA. PHD in homeopathic medicine!!

  • @fsvsdv3vasdvsdvasdv So, what's your PHD in?

  • what a joke to paint everything in red vs blue. from the cheesy "Godzilla" theme music in the background, yes I know it was a Zeppelin song first, but even so.

CONSERVATIVES VS. LIBERALSSSSSS.. wtf is this shit? wrestlemania for fucks that let political spin rule their droning lives? i can't listen to these talkshow hosts because they're full of shit. they'll bend the facts for GOOD RADIO. radio is entertainment, and they're not journalists.

they're hacks, don't buy into that trash.

  • I don't know much about these two guys. I do know that Medved kicked Hartmann ass. I was there for this debate. Hartmann reminds me of my former brother-in-law. The last memory I have of him is when they slapped the cuffs on him when he got arrested for abusing my sister. I was surprised Hartmann kept it civil. I don't listen to talk shows, b/c I have to work for a living. Neither one of these guys knows what a real job is.

  • @jayhawker53 You think that Medved saying that people have a "right to starve" is a legitimate argument, as though it is something that people choose for their children? Insane. Medved sounds like a man with no real sense of reality or of what the founding fathers had in mind. Medved is retro wanting of the feudal system where people had no power to any righs. Thom doesn't have to do this, he is very successful but fights every day for basic HUMAN DIGNITY. So thank him very much.

  • @betterpresident09

Where exactly does the right to food, health care, housing, or any other arbitrary material manifestation come from? It certainly isn't in the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence. If I have an unalienable right to a house, the same way that I have the unalienable right to life, then that means that none of us have the right to our own labors, and by extension, the right to our own lives.

The Declaration also never spoke about fairness or social justice.

  • @Ipetratz I think that it is the result of being CIVILIZED. Men can no longer drag women by the hair in a cave, or kill somebody, or take their property. These are all decisions that communities have made. The question is to you: What kind of a world do you want to live in? Wasn't it Jesus that said that said: What you do for the least among us, you do for me? (or close to that.) I don't know about you, but I don't want people dropping dead on my doorstep. Let's decide to be civil.

  • @betterpresident09 Agreed, but the problem is how do you *pay* for it. Some things just aren't possible yet if we also want to move upwards and onwards. In the future, I hope we can allow that, but then you must also factor in what humans do when things are just given to them on a silver platter. "teach a man to fish," .etc

I'm with you, but it's not as easy as we would like it to be. Hopefully, some day it will be doable. That day is not here yet.

  • @Ipetratz Brilliant my friend.

  • @Ipetratz You obviously drank the right wing coolaid that leads you to believe if you work hard, you can be rich. That erroneous belief leads people to be selfish and cruel, as demonstrated by your statements. You are a willing tool for the right wing, as you spew your regurgitated republican talking points. You are helping to further divide us, which makes it easier for the right to destroy this country, and turn it into a fascist oligarchy ever faster. STOP DRINKING THE COOLAID!

  • @highlanderslave

I find it a bit grandiose that you believe if not for me and the invisible forces of the market which conspire to keep you impoverished, you might actually make something of yourself. Instead of blaming others, perhaps you should learn to serve your fellow man for his work instead of making demands on his life and his property. So, big shot, as you sit around twiddling your thumbs, blaming others for your unsuccessful life or career, all you need to do is look in a mirror.

  • @Ipetratz This has nothing to do with me, but everything to do with the citizens of the UNITED States. We are all in this together. At least we are supposed to be, but not so much anymore. It's the vitriol from the right that fuels this divide, and weakens us as a nation. You show your true nature, in choosing to make a personal attack on me, as opposed to just sticking to the issue. Makes me think I must have hit close to the mark, to bother you that much.

  • @highlanderslave

Those who are content with their lives do not preach revolution against their country and their country's values. You say that the market is unfair or unjust or that for one man to think inward about his own goals, it serves to rob others of their livelihoods. This is not the nature of the free market. You make sanctions on my property and my life. I do not do the same to you. I ask that my unalienable rights, including property, be respected.

    Go read the Declaration sometime.

  • @Ipetratz Those who see the suffering of the many, do call for revolution. It's only those with the blinders of selfishness on, who can be content in the face of suffering. As more and more people fall into poverty, only the selfish fail to be moved to action. Be content, tow the line. And when the economy collapses totally, you can be content in the knowledge, that you helped bring the country down for your own enrichment.

  • @highlanderslave "It's the vitriol from the right that fuels this divide." That's divisive right there, and it's also incomplete and untrue. Many on the left are dividing our country by calling conservatives "tea baggers", "neocons", and "right-wing nutjobs". How dare you blame America's lack of unity solely on conservatives.

  • @Nielsenesque As opposed to right wingers calling us Commies, Nazis, and un-American. Please! I see and hear right wingers lie bald-faced when the truth is available to all from many sources. I watch as citizens protest the tactics of tea party politicians, who cook the books to give the rich more tax breaks, and then claim a deficit to attack unions. Boehner lied yesterday about no one on the right calling for a gov. shutdown, in the face of 10 or more righties calling for the shutdown.

  • @Nielsenesque I listened to the recorded examples myself. Do the research, find the truth, and stop depending on fox news for your information. It's out there, if you really want to find it. P.S. michelle bachman, and sarah palin ARE nutjobs, along with a few others.

  • @highlanderslave

Also, you talk about my vitriol while you call me a fascist?!

Now you're supposed to say, "I didn't call you a fascist. I am merely saying that you are unwittingly supporting the corporate fascists in their attempt to destroy this country. You are a pawn to the corporations."

I've heard that memo before, buddy. You can drop that one because I don't accept that, nor do any rational free-thinking people.

  • @Ipetratz The truth is the truth, whether you accept it or not. And free thinking, based on what I've read here, that's not a description I would assign to you.

  • @highlanderslave

No, people who oppose freedom and individual liberty are the only deep thinkers.

Also, I doubt you know a thing about history or economics. As it is, the housing collapse which took place was the result of government actions. If the government gets in the job of distributing more wealth and spending more, the economy will collapse.

Your rhetoric has no basis, no truth, and no substance. You are the one who has been propagandized. I would bet my life that you are a Marxist.

  • @Ipetratz The right has no truth, only lies and misinformation. Every day, the wealth of our nation is concentrated into an ever smaller group of people. At the point when 99% of our nation falls into poverty, there will no longer be enough people who can afford to pay for the goods and services we we sell, and that's where the collapse will take place. I'm done with trying to enlighten you, as this forum is not conducive to this, and I have to get to sleep.

  • I'm not a fan of Medved, but at least he kept it civil.

  • has mr. medved ever been to canada? our system has been deliberately underfunded by conservative governments which design to crash the system, so we've ended up with long wait times, but at least no one in this country loses their home, for example, because they are ill. if society doesn't look out for those who can't do for themselves, then society looks a lot like India or Russia; ie. homeless, jobless people begging everywhere; i wouldn't want to live amongst such need, personally

  • hartman must love bondage, because medved kicked his ass!! you don't mess with medved. hartman talks about tossing a hand grenade? hartman wouldn't know a grenade if it walked up and bit him in his ass.

  • @jayhawker53 Keep smoking your conservative crack.......I mean brainwashing.

  • Mr. Hartmann, there is no "right to wellness" as you mean it (some people forcing other people to pay their medical bills for them).

  • @jscottupton: Billionaire corporation heads have an obligation to contribute to society. These people have taken too much too long. They take from workers they don't pay a living wage and don't provide benefits. By not providing safe working conditions (remember BP?). They take from customers by overcharging. It's time the wealthy start giving, particularly since we are in the mess we're in because of them.

  • @judyleasugar97

thank you very much because you are the very reason why the multi-billionnaires companies are delocalizing in the next ten years. you work for the governement or company is? good for you. i'm going to australia or england although their free market is not WORSE than the USA. since your company performance depend on us the tax payers & the fed (money out of the blue in your safe) i wouldn't be surprised if you became a xenophobist (chine=cheaper and there is a good reason for it)

  • @judyleasugar97, these workers can't move to another company with better working conditions or are they enchained to work at these places forever? I believe they can move.

    .

"They take from customers by overcharging" - if someone can make a product cheaper, it will be done by another company, it's basic free market structure.

    .

" It's time the wealthy start giving"- the wealthy give ALL of their money to the poor by creating jobs and investing profits back into their business.

  • @Cameroner1: If you're speaking of third world countries they have no labor rights. Move to what other country, exactly? Jobs are scarce everywhere. Your arguments are obviously drawn from a conservative think tank. Try figuring things out for yourself instead of repeating things like a parrot.

  • @jscottupton If you took the time to think it through, you might see the error in your statement. I'll try to explain, in this short space. It seems you have no idea about insurance. Do you have car insurance? If so, do you pay the premium? Do you realize that part of the money you paid goes into a pool. It's from this pool that the claims are settled. Essentially, you are paying for the repairs to other peoples vehicles, and medical bills for injuries. I'll have to add another post.

  • @jscottupton So, if you go through a full year with no claims, your money goes totally to other people. Why is this OK, and why would having single payer health insurance be bad? This issue has been so twisted, that people can't see what's right in front of them.

  • Military and police have to do with the use of force. Government has a monopoly on force so they control the military and the police. But government doesn't stop there. It tries to take over education (which it has done...with terrible results for the most part), and many other "services". There is no reason why fire service has to be run by the government...there is a long history of private fire departments. Same with roads.

  • DOES ANYONE HAVE A TRANSCRIPT?

  • Dont let his size fool you. Medved is not to messed with.. He will gut you like a fish with facts alone.

  • this should be a better country. one way to start that is stop being hypocritical. if u use medved's line of thought, then there's a right to allow ur neighbor's house to burn down, ur neighbor to be raped, burgled, & beaten. there's a right to allow ur neighbor to be illiterate & uneducated. why?!?

if we were to be this kind of country, then we'd never be able to be on the higher level of other 1st world countries. we'd be just like a 3rd world country where the worst is common & acceptable.

  • @rumpole33 You misunderstand what "rights" are. In 1850 Frederic Bastiat said "the socialist confuses government with society. So much so that if we say we don't want the government to do a certain thing they say we don't want that thing done at all"

  • Medved whooped him.

  • I just lost all respect for Hartman - homeopathy is a complete scam - snake oil for the 21st century.

  • I love this guys radio program. Its about time somebody gave the truth out. The most memorable parts of Liberal radio is that they do bash liberals....but you listen to conservative radio..and conservatives never bash any GOP congressmen. It's like conservatism can do no wrong. This country need more truthful radio programs like this one...I have at least 4 conservative radio stations set in my car, but the only liberal radio program I can find is the one Thom is carried on...

  • @ttheobald2007 dosnt matter what you have PHD in you fucking retard.... You can graduate Yale and still be a moron for all youve accomplish is the back hand of the system and even then the system seems to bend time from time...... WHAT IMPERFECTION DWELL UPON "ONE WHO SERVES"

  • If you can't get yours, work, get training, educate yourself, and quit being a victim. If you need temporary assistance, fine, but don't expect the federal or state governments to support you for life.

  • @Nielsenesque yeah thats if there was a functioning Gov MothF

  • Comment removed

  • Mr Medved says, "I have mine, get your own, I do not care if all the jobs have been outsourced".

  • @AwesomeBeatles

and if you cant get yours, tough.

  • Comment removed

  • @Nielsenesque

    Thats not what medved insinuated.

  • bonfire you get a ph.d. in homeopathy and then come back and say what a joke it was.

  • LOL, a PHD in homeopathy??? hahaha that is not something to be bragging about hartmann.

Also he criticizes others of using 'socialist' as a dirty word but he does exactly the same thing with the word 'corporations'. Not every corporation is evil you know. A corporation is just a different type of business structure. They also provide us with daily necessities at relatively low prices. Not everyone who works in a corporation is the devil incarnate.

  • @bonfirejovi did Thom Hartmann say "every corporations is evil"? he has a PHD and he uses it in his work to help people mostly children. do you have a PHD in anything? Thom has written 20 or 30 books on everything from ADD to Law & the Constitution, In 1979, Thom and Louise Hartmann founded the New England Salem Children’s Trust (NESCT) in New Hampshire, and continued to spread the Salem message of peace and environmental respect (described in his book "The Prophet's Way").

  • @bonfirejovi umm he has a reason corporations have a history of dirty work and real socialism has never been seen...

  • To me, Medved is nothing more than a selfish JERK. Him and his Bernie Madoff - type buddies that For Sure include Dark Dick Cheney, just Hate the idea of sharing.

  • @GaryHMan Why should I work my ass off, practice thrift, and share with you? I need to take care of MY family. Your family is YOUR problem.

  • @luvcheney1 Because the elected representatives that you send to Congress say you should, but we both know that you do not pay your fair share of taxes to support those operations since you are an admitted tax cheat. So you get to complain about policies that you do not pay for.

  • @exenrontexas Tax EVASION is a crime. ( Like the Treasury Secretary, head of IRS Tim Gietner, appointed by Obama). ( Or, Charlie Rangel, who forgot he gets rental income from the Dom Republic). Tax AVOIDANCE is Legal. For example, taking your family with you to buy supplies at a Costco, that is a nice drive out of town, and you spend more for the business, than personal on the trip. Or, you attend a trade, or business meeting in Las Vegas, party all night. Or, you take clients for lap dances.
