Like the song. I've found a colony in the Pacific. I'm at present organizing protection for the colony before I highlight it's existance. I expect to undertake an expedition to the site early next year to ascertain the position of their caves. A mature juvenile swam past one of my crew during a drop-off snorkel. I expect we will create a documentary out of our discovery. Maybe we could use your song .... Rgds .... Capt. David
ERVs are lingering remnants of failed viral infection, which occurred in an ancestor's sex cell and got propagated in its offspring. The viral insertion site is completely random and finding one in the same location in two individuals indicates they each had that same ancestor. Humans and chimps have 98,000 ERV locations in common. Common ancestor?
i was reading that the coelachants live by a miracle some scientists say that they should be Deceased long time ago but look millions of year thats so cool
Like the ideas ... but the song gets under my nerves... Nice to see a bit more pro-evolution material ... as if that should be at all controversial anymore
Rofl, he believes in EVOLUTIONS....... this song is amazing... smoke a blunt, sit back and live the dream listening to this soothing Coelacanth groove. This is easily one of the 10 best coelacanth songs of all time.
As the song says, "the museum's where you'll see 'em": coelacanths shouldn't be fished and no one should try to capture them because any attempt to bring these fish up from the depths where they live will kill them. But you're right: they're very cool.

Coelacanths are NOT tetrapods, nor does anyone in the scientific community claim that coelacanths gave rise to tetrapods, nor that coelacanths ever walked(or will ever walk) on land. And of course, the Coelacanth species existing today are NOT the same as the species from the fossil record. Related to them, yes. I guess I don't understand the point of this song.
There's a Coelacanth fossil in an aquarium here in Vancouver :)

Dude, with out these fish and their reletives, we probably wouldnt be alive. they have arm like bone structures in their fins, its beast
shimpieguy23 2 years ago
I'm not entirely sure what you mean, are you taking about eating these things or evolution?
Nachosareyummy 2 years ago
Evolution, their fins could eventually create the basic arm for a lizard

@ Torwyn11
Either that, or you're just stupid.
Coelacanths have not changed at all in the past few million years. They are one of the only things that remained true to the original.
Grimmjizzle 3 years ago
Which coelacanths? There are more than one species and there were MANY extinct ones. They were all alike? Get a brain.

I think YOU need a brain.
