How many earmarks did President Bush add? thousands of earmarks!!! the willing ignorance of the American people is the only thing that keeps the Republican Party in office. earmarks are how states get federal funding for state programs-like a tax rebate- the question is where is this money going, whats being funded and who's spending it! maybe the Mainstream news Could spend some time on these subjects :)

This is another example of why we need to drastic cut the size of the federal government so earmarks and corruption wouldn't exist.

This nearly made me sick. I am certainly against earmarks and the things that are happening in relation to them, but the tone of propaganda was overwhelming. Even if I agree with the propaganda, I still know it's wrong. There was no need to interview a bunch of conservatives face-to-face and then quote all the Democrats in a sneeringly sarcastic voice. I guess now that FOX has gone off the deep end, CNN feels it must step up to the plate.

Earmarking needs to be stopped. It is a easy way fro anyone in congress to get money for almost anythig they want.

It's not "your" money, it's the government's money that they take from you through force/coercion. There is no incentive to spend it effectively since it's obtained by waving guns around.

Although I am a Republican, I have to say that I don't think that this is a Democratic only problem. The fact that our system is set up to allow this is outrageous. We need an overhaul of how our Congress works, with the ability to line veto by the President, in order to clean up Washington. And who killed the line item veto back in the early 90s? Our very own Rudy Giuliani.
