He is fulfilling the neocon Wolfiwitz doctrine of world domination.Obama is surrounded by "bushies". He continues to allow Wall Street to decimate our economy (we pay). Change? what a joke~
@9N8X I agree~ It appears obvious to me that there is another power structure outside of the executive branch that decide who should be allowed to take the whitehouse. The the puppet strings are attached. Watch: 1) Confessions of an Economic Hitman 2) Hijacking Catastrophe Read Wes Tarpley's excellent "The Unauthorized Biography of GHW Bush" You can see it free at TARPLEY(dot) NET It is well researched & documented.
@ghahandi Ralph is a man of the TRUTH~ Support him as much as possible if he runs again. Support Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul. You may not agree with everything they stand for, but the important issues they do agree on; The Constitution (and the fact that it being decimated), Pre-emptive war. Empire building. All NEOCON NWO lies~
Ralph is right on.ote for NADER in 2012...The rest you can put into a box, shake it up, and pick one..wouldn't matter. They are all of the same cloth.
Now that's where you're wrong. The media isn't pro-Democrat...AT ALL. And lets not even get started with crimes by the Republican party. The media is by definition an ELITE PRO-POWER entity. They give legitamacy to the neo-conservative loons and the pro-American power line. Its all a farce.
Ralph is not a politician - he has never been in office and that is inherent in being a politician. But, he is a consumer advocate and he has no problems with honesty and genuinity because he accepts no money from corporate interests in elections, unlike the Democratic and Republican parties who aren't free from influence and thus always dissapoint and never commit what they say they will do.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I find it amusing that so many individuals feel as though Nader is always honest. Guess what? He's a politician and he can be corrupted by power as well.
i love this! it is great to watch this a year later. "Nothing will change" and it is true. More bailout, no healthcare for all, surge in Afganistan... ooops, he did get a Nobel prize. He will be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, exactly 2 weeks after he annonced 30000 more troops for war in Afg.
The Vatican-Pope-Jesuits-illuminati-NAZIS-CFR run the world. they have all the judges, attorneys, doctors, major corporations, etc. all in their back pocket. bought & paid for, etc. our country is no longer free -we live in tyranny! truth an obscure thing, Oppression & lie is the norm. Were all slaves- our masters, the elite, r at least 50 years ahead of us in knowledge, technology, info., secrets & r using all of it against us!
Bigups to this Man,, Seen !! Blessed are those with the OVERSTANDING & COURAGE to EXPOSE this SHITSTEM.. He's feeding us the DOWNPRESSED,, Jah Bless !!
Exactly, Nader is a surgeon and Obama is nothing but a slave, just like his downtrodden ancestors, who struggled for 200 years under an oppressive caucasian theocracy. And what was the outcome of all that suffering and cruelty, an uncle tom in the white house !!!! Pathetic, to be frank.
ummm... as a black guy, I can assure you that our "downtrodden ancestors" who struggled for 300 (not 200) years would be more than happy that he is in the white house
Bullshit !!!! A truely passionate and assertive black leader like Malcolm X or Phillip Randolph would have been disgusted after seeing what Obama has done so far !!!! Only ignorant asholes like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson can be proud of this man !!!
Ralph Nader has some key points but he has to understand that the Democrats and the Republicans has always had the power but until something big comes to stir up congress it will stay the same.
What the fuck is wrong with you ?? Instead of changing the current state of affairs, you'd ratherr swallow all the bullshit that is fed to you ??? Have you lost your mind ???
There is no way to change the current state of affairs. the political turmoil in this country is so deeply ingrained in our society that it has effectively become institutionalized, and nobody, especially not your precious Ralph Nader is going to change that anytime soon. He wields very little influence in this nation because he is delusional, like you
Whatever, you are obviously an Obama ass-kisser !!!!! You're not a difference maker, you're just another sheep who will swallow whatever is fed to you !!!! Congratulations on a life of never-ending nescience !!!
with all the appointments we've seen so far from Obama it seems that Nader wasnt far off in his predictions. its actually quite saddening that even with the understanding of obama's republican bent we still rallied behind him either in vote or ideology because he was the lesser of two evils. it was like having sex with a really hot chick over a gilf and having to deal with the consequences of her parents, children and husband after the fact... :(
Ever heard the phrase "Well we've been safe since 9/11."
What you're saying is the same. You're trying to defend something that's so full of corruption and so many facts going against it, that you use that kind of argument just like the Bush Followers. Let's see here, Paulson was with Goldman Sachs, Goldman Sachs biggest donator to Obama. hmmm. Obama not ending the war. And he knows he could of ended it in 2-3 months. He is giving money to his friends in the banking industry. SO ON. SO FORTH.
WTF is your point? are you aware of what ideology is? republicanism is an ideology. He's not alone in his views. some would say he sees through the bullshit. something that i have a feeling you dont.
nader is the real shit, a real progressive, not like therestoration of theclinton admionistration taking place under the "hope" obama presidency...kee hopin fools, you missed out on public citizen #1. Be well ralph!
He talks about things that none of the mainstream candidates will address. He runs to press the issues so that maybe in the long run they'll be forced to pick up on it and do something about it.
"I start with the premise that the function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers"
Ralph Nader
He runs to bring issues not covered by the 2 parties but are actually representative of the majority of peoples views, to national
discussion (even though they'e blacked out by the media- which becomes an issue in itself of the debaates needing to be open to anti war candidates that were aall excluded). He runs to encurage citizen activist at local, state & national level
Bill Fletcher is a phony. He is so easily duped by nonsense, I do not think he should speak on behalf of African-American society, because the African-American society deserves capable mind and someone who is not easily duped.
Having Muslims in the family didn't stop Barack Obama. The reason Ralph won't be president is because he's actually qualified for the job, and the people who are in charge (who are NOT us, we just get to choose between their two top choices) want someone who will put the interests of the rich and corporations first.
No, not Cynthia McKinney -- she's ecologically ignorant. The Green Party is hopelessly mired in the politics of group identity and liberal guilt. McKinney played them like a fiddle.
it's not going to happen until we find a way to include voters who want to vote for third parties but feel that their vote is better used strategically. Look at the link in my profile and in the about page of that blog you'll see my idea for what to do about this problem. In a nutshell, I want to organize both third party voters and lesser-of-two-evils voters together, count them, and show that they do have the numbers to win at least local elections (where a lot of change can happen)
Well I respect Nadar, and thats why what he says worries me so much about Obama. But even then id rather risk Obama being a warmonger then knowing we've elected a warmonger like Mccain.
But at the end of the day, can we honestly say anything has improved if President Obama turns out to be that warmonger? He has already talked about downsizing our commitment in Iraq(though not phasing out an American troop presence all together) and shifting those freed-up forces to Afghanistan/Pakistan. This, basically, insures that we will be engaged in the Middle East militarily for some time to come, and have to reap the ever-mounting cost of war and loss of human life.
"The Nader Kool-Aid here in the comments section is hysterical. Talk about hero worship."
Yup. That's right! Ralph Nader IS A HERO, you douchebag! What has he advocated that is so bad? He has always stood for and championed fairness, social justice, a living wage, safe products, safe drugs, a clean and safe environment, no corporate welfare, an election system that is fair and open and represents the people not the elite and corporations. So again, what has he advocated that is so bad? Hmm?
I voted for you again, Mr. Nader. I'm so sorry you again were shut out. It's too bad the American Sheeple say they want change, but continue to vote for the same old hand-picked puppets of the two-party dictatorship that is the American system of sham elections that is in place.
I think that even better than trying to build up a third party during the worst of times, under Bush, will be building third party power now, because the people feel the power that they have now, and that attitude may build a stronger movement than the desperation to get rid of Bush under any conditions we had before. We're negotiating from a stronger position now.
The US people have lived under a TRUE dictatorship since 911.
Some of the VERY best proof that your own regime PLANNED 911 was that the bogus "Patriot Act" was written YEARS before the WTC was "attacked".
The "Patriot Act" ABSOLUTELY destroyed the US Constitution & Bill of Rights.
You can now be LEGALLY "disappeared" as a US citizen with "0" rights. If the US Reich deems you THEIR enemy, you can be kidnapped, flown to another country & tortured or KILLED.
I agree wholeheartedly with everything Nader says here, and I'm looking forward to the excuses the Democrats will invent for reneging on all their fraudulent campaign promises.
One kvetch: Of the 10 or so goals he set, he fails to mention the extension of equal rights to gays in this country. The gay rights movement has been the great grassroots movement of our generation, and we were handed an ignominious defeat on election day. It would be appropriate for the RealNews to cover that.
Nader is definetly not anti Israel. Acknowledging the country PALESTINE unlike the other 2 parties that only taled about Hamas, and acknowledging illegal occupation by the Israeli military in Palestine just as he acknowledges illegal ocupation of US in Iraq doesn't make him anti Israel or anti American.
He supports a 2 state solution & just doesn't want US taking sides through anual military aid to Israel to pander to AIPAC. He's the nly candidate that mentioned Jewish Voice for Peace.
One of Obama's early positions was that the election system needs an overhaul. I think that's Nader's most compelling populist position and one where he and Obama probably have common ground.
Nader points out that the major structural problem stems from a late 19th century Supreme Court decision that gave corporations 1st amendment rights (like free speech). It'd be a brawl trying to pass legislation that addresses this, but Nader would be a great advocate, especially with Obama at his back.
its not envy its anger.....obama is talking empty rhetoric and foolish idealistic americans have swallowed.....Where is the change??? his first appointment is Rham Emanuel!!!! Fucking change!!???? Its bull, and all americans are slaves to the military industrial complex and dont even know it...
"Where is the change? His first appointment is Rham Emanuel! Fucking change!? Its bull"
Yup! You said it, brother. I couldn't agree with you more about Rhamy Boy. I hear that Obie even has that other douchebag Robert Rubin (another big fucking DEREGULATOR!) from the Clinton Admin., advising him on economic matters. Great! More of the fucking same! Obie seems to me, that he is going to be one big phony and hypocrite. I really wanted Ralph Nader to have won or at least showed a big percentage.
Wait until January 20th when Obama actually gets into the white house. When he can actually implement polices, you're trying to be a wise ass ,but it seems like you're a typical misinformed bitter McCain supporter.
..."you're try 2 be a wise ass, ... seems like you're a typical misinformed bitter McCain supporter."
Deepstarr7020, um, are you saying your comments to me or someone else? You didn't specify who you're calling a "wise ass" and "bitter McCain supporter".
If directed to me, as John McLaughlin was often fond to shout, "WRONG!!!" I'm a Nader man and have been for years. I've voted for Mr. Nader in every election he was in. I hate the 2-party dictatorship that Ralph himself his cited exists.
11.4.08 Congratulations to Barak Obama (Our 44th President elect).
Now let's make sure Corporations don't tug at him to pass legislation completely in their interest over public interest.
We elected Obama to serve 'We The People' Not 'They the Corporations' and their special interest lbbyists. Let's make sure he keeps his promise.
We don't have any illusions about WHY all these corporations lines up behind Obama..there are at least two more big bailouts comming - prepare to pay MORE!!!
Ron paul would have been much better than Obama - he was not on the ballot, and I'm not a conservative. OIf you supported Ron Paul or Baldwin - I aplaude you. My people are on the liberal left, NADER, McKinney, Moore, Kucinich..etc..
Bedides I only have 1Vote and if I have to do it again, I would vote NADER/Gonzalez without any regret.
How is it that The Real News only dares to give Ralph Nader significant air time AFTER the campaign is over? I am frankly disappointed in you! You are supposed to be different from big media, that's the standard you have set yourselves, but you failed on this test.
Ralph is a big-government socialist so not quite my cup of tea but, because he respects the Constitution and the rule of law, I'd vote for him over Leon Obama or Benito McCain any day of the week.
obama won, pfft, i bet on a million dollars that in these coming months and years, that these people who voted obama, they will bash obama just like they bashed bush.
Nader does make a lot of good points here and it is imperative that Obama is taken to task right from the beginning of his presidency to really move, and I mean REALLY MOVE, to change the status quo. If he doesn't than the cynicism that we see now from many people about politics and politicians will just explode.
sounds like a bandaid nader but its better than nothing.we all know the realaty is much worse on all those issues stated on the vid. all third parties who can field a candadate on all 50 states should be garanteed equal footing in debates broadcast through any f.c.c station.if not is it a democracy.
I know the allegory of the cave, but as far as I am aware it didn't involve replacing one dellusion with another. You can't just blame the corporate media for the fact that Nader doesn't get elected. I'm not saying I disagree with him on much but... there is always a but... it is his stratergy which is just plain in-effective.
There is no delusion here. no one solely blames the media for Nader not getting elected. but it IS one factor. I volunteered for the Nader campaign this year and you would be surprised how many people still did not know he was running, the day before the election. The amount of mainstream media exposure he got was definitely a factor in that.
"I start with the premise that the function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers"
Ralph Nader
Nader was a refreshing candidate who spoke truth to power and somehow made me feel more poweful in supporting him in his defeat than if I would've caved in to the Democrats who want to continue war on terror & pay or die healthcare system.
It's time for the next generation of Nader Raiders to hold government accountable to work for change like Nader's career.
"Nader made me feel more powerful in supporting him in his defeat than if I would've caved in to the Democrats"
HEAR, HEAR, 0613162k! That's just how I feel about it. I'd rather vote for Mr. Nader that represents MY views and philosophy and lose, than just blindly follow the rest of the sheep and throw my ballot into the box for THEIR hand-picked puppet that the 2-party dictatorship TOLD ME to vote for. My conscience is clean and clear in voting for the man that stands for the right things.
wow.....Ralph Nader: lawyer, politician, activist, and apparently since this was made back in 2008- seer......

Exactly, Nader is a surgeon and Obama is nothing but a slave, just like his downtrodden ancestors, who struggled for 200 years under an oppressive caucasian theocracy. And what was the outcome of all that suffering and cruelty, an uncle tom in the white house !!!! Pathetic, to be frank.

with all the appointments we've seen so far from Obama it seems that Nader wasnt far off in his predictions. its actually quite saddening that even with the understanding of obama's republican bent we still rallied behind him either in vote or ideology because he was the lesser of two evils. it was like having sex with a really hot chick over a gilf and having to deal with the consequences of her parents, children and husband after the fact... :(

Having Muslims in the family didn't stop Barack Obama. it's not going to happen until we find a way to include voters who want to vote for third parties but feel that their vote is better used strategically.

Irshkboy 3 years ago 3
But at the end of the day, can we honestly say anything has improved if President Obama turns out to be that warmonger? He has already talked about downsizing our commitment in Iraq(though not phasing out an American troop presence all together) and shifting those freed-up forces to Afghanistan/Pakistan. This, basically, insures that we will be engaged in the Middle East militarily for some time to come, and have to reap the ever-mounting cost of war and loss of human life.

JixMa 3 years ago 2
I voted for him too. I totally agree with you. Now it is time for the people to organize and give Obama a mandate.
Like Nader said "the people need to get the FIRE in their bellies".
sachi22 3 years ago 2
I think that even better than trying to build up a third party during the worst of times, under Bush, will be building third party power now, because the people feel the power that they have now, and that attitude may build a stronger movement than the desperation to get rid of Bush under any conditions we had before. We're negotiating from a stronger position now.
Capitalocracy 3 years ago
Nader makes some good points.
xxashyy 3 years ago 2
The US people have lived under a TRUE dictatorship since 911.
Some of the VERY best proof that your own regime PLANNED 911 was that the bogus "Patriot Act" was written YEARS before the WTC was "attacked".
The "Patriot Act" ABSOLUTELY destroyed the US Constitution & Bill of Rights.
You can now be LEGALLY "disappeared" as a US citizen with "0" rights. If the US Reich deems you THEIR enemy, you can be kidnapped, flown to another country & tortured or KILLED.
Welcome to the NEW U.S.A.!!
t4705mb6 3 years ago 2

0613162k 3 years ago 3
One of Obama's early positions was that the election system needs an overhaul. I think that's Nader's most compelling populist position and one where he and Obama probably have common ground.
Nader points out that the major structural problem stems from a late 19th century Supreme Court decision that gave corporations 1st amendment rights (like free speech). It'd be a brawl trying to pass legislation that addresses this, but Nader would be a great advocate, especially with Obama at his back.

There is no delusion here. no one solely blames the media for Nader not getting elected. but it IS one factor.
