When they told you guys to leave you should have asked for that request in writing then if the company were ever in need of the fire department or police tell them there is a written statement stating the police/fire department are not allowed on that private property! lol Good song and even better cause...would love to hear it on the radio.
I agree with essentially everything you all have said. This is a new saga in the life and times of Ronnie Milsap, where he tries to help a charity get enough money to recover the fund for the IAFF and FOP dropped significantly by 9/11 terrorist attacks and Katrina. Every saga has to have a main antagonist, and for this one, that's ...Capitol Records?! Why are they doing this to everyone when they released two fine Milsap albums in the 90s? (And don't use the cease-and-desist order as an excuse!)
I just retired after 42 years on the New Orleans Police Department. I suffered through Katrina with the other 1500 officers in the 2nd battle of New Orleans. If this is what a fortune 500 company thinks about us and the many police and firefighters throughout this land then its time to turn out the lights and go home. NEXT TIME YOU NEED THE POLICE OR FIRE DEPARTMENT MAYBE YOU SHOULD REMEMBER HOW YOU HAVE TREATED THEM AND SHAME YOURSELVES....
Oh man, if a company hired me to kick Ronnie Milsap and a bunch of firefighters, off the property they'd have to pay me serious bucks, enough to hide my shameful face from the world, and I get to say, "It's not me it's this bitch I'm married to who's making me kick you off" (and point at the building).
Thanks for posting this! I really hope country radio around the USA gives this song lots of play time, as its a great song for one, but more importantly done for a worthy cause. Most stations here in southern california have forgotten about the country legends, when the artists release a new song they refuse to play them on radio.
@mythid12 I would hope this song would not be played on COUNTRY radio but ROCK radio since there is nothing country about this song. Other than that I agree with the cause. I just found out about this so it is obvious little was done to get the word out and very little charity money has been raised. That is a shame.
I would say boycott Capitol but the artist don't deserve to suffer because of their shitty label. Trace needs to leave as soon as his contract is up.
@75630KaraokeStar Trace Adkins did leave. He left Capitol for another label...but so far, the song STILL hasn't charted...what a shame, especially considering the importance to America that this song be a big hit! Also, for slightly lesser importance of that, it could've also provided Milsap w/ the comeback we've all been waiting for! Although, from what I hear, Cashbox seems to give this song better treatment...
On behalf of my husband and our family, his friends and coworkers, I thank you for this!! We need more people out there supporting these heroes everyday who are always there for us!
What a shame that the record company owned by people outside the USA can control just what goes on in this country...Stand up for freedom to sing...freedom to support those who care for our safety...It's all about who GETS the money.
This song Rocks & Capital records is pretty low class to have stopped it!

What a disgrace that record company politics wouldn't let this song hit radio airwaves.

That's the coolest, most fun looking protest to join in on. Dancing fireman, and Ronnie Milsap singing on a fire truck.
I loved this.
