thats not smoke thats what they call blow by. An motor does it just cars have it piped into the exhaust

It is blow by. It is caused by the high boost pressure (over 100psi) getting past the rings.

Reminds me when the motor on our 1480 combine was worked on at the IH dealer and came back. They redid the valves, turbo, hoses and injectors. The first time my dad throttled up and then cut back to idle I heard the turbo pop-off valve blow. LOL, 1st time I've ever heard that on a combine.
