  • Very professional. A beautiful loco.

  • Agree with all comments here. This shows the fantastic heritage of the GW 4cyl engines. STAR-CASTLE-KING. They will never be beaten for power/economy/size.

Now the next run should be with 6024±

  • @hrofc1 Very well mentioned, what you see here shows what a double-chimney Castle is capable of. To be honest 5043 has beaten the lot. Not even 6024 can match 5043 for its reliability and performance, now that I've witnessed the Castle

  • Saw 5043 leave Paddington for Birmingham and it was spectacular, these shots are awesome, love the long panning and the Maidenhead/Hatton clip. well done!

  • Superb Video! Especially of your sequence you had at South Moreton, im pretty certain i saw you on the hillside that day as i was awaiting at Cholsey Farm Bridge for 5043!!

  • @slipperysam33 thank you sir, and I was that very person on the hillside you saw as I was the only one there

  • Good Shots there :) I saw her at Langley :)

  • Well up to the usual standard Ryan. You can easily understand why the Castle was the favourite of most GWR & BRWR enginemen! Alan

  • @Steamclips Very true Alan the Castles have been a favourite of many enginemen in the past and present, even some from out of WR territory like them! 5043 really does show what a track record its got.

  • Another great clip - you stay true to your style amd again you managed to keep your high standard - 5 Stars is not enough

  • @collieultimo Nice to hear from you again, I'l try and sometimes go beyond my call of duty and go for something very different i.e. the South Moreton sequence which has come out well. I did do two other shots but were write offs, still these shots are as good

  • Brilliant video Ryan. great shot at South Moreton we were on the bridge in that clip. She put on a great show

  • @EMuksteam So you was on that road bridge getting the loco? I must of driven past you while I was heading for Moreton

  • Grrreat, grrrreat, grrrrrreat steam video!!!!

  • Cracking video Ryan, I liked the second shot of both legs in particular, with the pan of the outward and the lighting with the steam effect with the return.

  • @JBTEvans The second scene at South Moreton came out well despite the concern of the sound. The lighting at Maidenhead proved handy as it was more a brighter effect as with Hatton it was really tricky to face with

  • Amazing performance fro EOME again Ry, and your work capturing it was exemplary, especially the long pan at Didcot...fantastic...Bob

  • @robmasterman nice to hear your show of support in these films. To get this run meant hundreds of miles were made in just 12 hours! But I'm pleased to of caught an historic run

  • Some cracking shots here mate. Well done!

  • Really really really good vid. Loved your second shot but loved the night time drama of the last one too!! 5043 is showing herself to be an awesome engine - so much hard work by those guys that look after her. For those of us who can't get there the work of people like you is greatly appreciated. TU :-)

  • @HughFromAlice correction, Tyseley are showing its real skill, ambition and handling of their mainline engines. They just keep putting on such a fine show, such which a few would deny. The South Moreton scene really shows how well the engine is being run at high speeds.

  • @GreatWestern175

Nice to be corrected like that!! Agreed :-)

  • A superb compilation! Thank you for sharing! I would have to disagree - the car alarm going off would have been a humorous end to the compilation. I am forever telling the unbelievers that GWR 4 cylinder locos set off car alarms! - LOL! Mike

  • @NN2Blue You could say so seeing as Castles are loud and fast, were as 5043's case really thundered the scene in many areas. It sounds humorous to some but to me i felt it was important to dub over that slight ending as it was the last conclusion to GWR175

  • @GreatWestern175 I completely understand. But what you could do is just upload the Hatton Bank clip entitled "E of ME Cocks a Snook at Modern Transport!" :-) Mike

  • Another excellent film, very well done.

  • Great vid liked

  • Fabulous video - 5043 and footplate crew in awesome form to put on such a performance - the shot at South Moreton has to be your best yet - fabulous location and wonderful long controlled pan and slow zoom out as loco comes through and zoom in as she goes away - perfect in every respect bearing in mind its a one shot take - and I love those night shots and sound of the engine powering through the station with the steam captured by the station lights. Excellent.

  • @NapierNimbus Quite alot to say there but all for a good cause. The South Moreton scene came out really good than I thought, was concerned about the slight wind issues befre shooting the scene but thankfully didnt cause too much hassle. The night shots had some of the best sounds from the engine

  • just an incredible video.

  • very gud clip m8

i love it when 5043 is passing didcot power staion on the background

    5* and fav

  • @mick5eye Its a really good spot at South Moreton were you've got the Didcot power stations in the background, although I'm not a fan of power stations it still provides some background.
