I saw this band in 1985 at the Starry Night Club in Portland Oregon. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. The musicianship was incredible. The bass player was the leader of the band and I'll never forget how good he was. They warmed up the crowd for 3 or 4 songs before JLH came on. I appreciated Hooker very much because he picked outstanding musicians to play in his band and really let them loose.

John Lee Hooker played with whole lot of people considered blues masters, but there wasn't a single person who would outstage him. Everyone look like a child compared to John Lee. John is the master and the rest look like his students compared to him. He's the god of the blues.
