I still get confused whenever people bring this up. Yes, I know that The Pillows should be known for their great music beyond FLCL, but can you really tell me that they would have gotten such a big following in the US without the show? I'm sure that some people would hear them on their own, but FLCL presented them to America and they gained a fan-base because of it. Why should people be bashed for only knowing some songs? It's not fair when their just want to listen to a band and be a fan.

Well, I'm guessing you're talking about the three soundtracks. If you are going for pure Pillows music, the third soundtrack is in my opinion your best choice.

Ooh, that may be tough. Many regular CD retail stores don't offer The Pillows. You would be lucky to find the soundtracks at those kind of places. Even small businesses would be unlikely to have them. If anything, you would probably need to go to specialty stores like Sam Goody or others in the like to come across a few of the albums. Even so, they are most likely the newer albums that you'll find. Sorry if I'm being a downer at all, but I thought I would help spare you a lot of heartache.

Simply because every time I listen to them, I sense either a heavy Pixies, Breeders, or Pavement influence in their musical esthetic. Oasis too, sometimes.

For instance, listen to Where is my mind by the Pixies, and compare it to this song -perhaps you'll understand where i'm coming from.

The Pillows and the Pixies came out around the same time, 86 and 89 Pixies first so it is possible that the pillows were influenced by the pixies, but saying their unoriginal is going far...seeing as how the pillows are still together and the pixies arent...and Im not dissing the pixies, I love Nirvana, and I love the pixies for what they have influenced...VIVA MUSE!!!
